Welcome to this Mountain Within Meditation with me.
I'm so grateful that you are here.
Begin by settling into a comfortable position,
One that feels alert but not stiff.
Please know.
That it is perfectly okay to move during meditation.
If you need to adjust your position,
Simply do so slowly and mindfully.
If it feels comfortable,
Allow your eyes to close.
Or you may keep them softly open,
Resting your gaze on a quiet place in front of you.
There is no right or wrong way to meditate.
There is no right or wrong way to breathe.
There is no right or wrong way to be.
You do not need to feel peaceful.
You don't need to clear your mind.
We are simply practicing being present.
What we have is this breath,
This body,
And this moment.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Notice how the Earth is already supporting you.
You do not have to hold yourself up all by yourself.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Let your hands rest easily.
Relax your jaw.
Give yourself permission to be exactly as you are.
For the next few minutes,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing you need to accomplish.
Nothing you need to fix.
You only need to be here and breathe.
Without trying to control your breath,
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
And release it gently.
One more breath in… and breathe out.
Now,
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
With every breath out,
You allow yourself to settle.
With every breath in,
You receive support.
And realize that it's already there.
Breathing in,
I arrive.
Breathing out,
I soften.
Now bring to mind the image of a mountain.
Perhaps you imagine one of the beautiful smoky mountains,
The Himalayas,
It doesn't really matter.
It is strong.
It is steady.
It is rooted deeply within the Earth.
Imagine yourself sitting with this same quiet strength.
Your body supported below.
Your spine rising naturally.
Your heart soft and open.
There is a mountain within you,
A place of strength and stillness that has always been there.
Sunlight touches the mountain.
Clouds gather.
Rain falls.
Wind moves through the trees.
Snow may cover over the slopes.
Spring brings new life.
The weather changes,
The seasons change,
But the mountain holds steady.
The mountain does not try to change the weather.
It does not ask the rain to stop.
It does not push the clouds away.
It does not try to hurry one season into the next.
The mountain gently allows each kind of weather and every season to come and go.
And through it all.
The mountain remains.
Your life has changing weather too.
There are moments of sunshine and moments of uncertainty.
Times of joy.
Times of sadness.
Times when the path is clear.
In times when you cannot see very far ahead.
You experience the weather.
But you are not the weather.
You are the mountain beneath it.
Strong,
Steady.
Rooted.
Present.
You whatever weather is moving through your life today.
You do not have to fight it.
You do not have to change it right now.
You do not have to have everything figured out.
Simply allow yourself to breathe.
Remember,
No storm lasts forever.
No season remains unchanged.
The clouds will move.
The sun will shine again.
And even when you cannot feel your own strength.
It is still within you.
Quietly remind yourself,
I am here.
I'm supported.
I am stronger than I know.
I can remain grounded while life changes.
And I can always begin again.
Begin to deepen your breath.
Feel the ground beneath you.
You can gently move your fingers and your toes,
Perhaps roll your shoulders,
Your head.
Take your time.
There's no need to rush.
When you're ready,
Allow your eyes to open gently.
And as you carry with your day on,
Carry the steadiness of the mountain within you.
The weather may change.
The seasons may change.
And you can remain rooted.
You can return to your breath.
You can return to this moment.
You can always return home to yourself.
I hope you have a fantastic day and thank you so much for sharing this practice and this space with me.
Namaste.
