Hello.
As you come into this meditation,
Find a comfortable sitting position,
With your hands resting gently on your legs,
And begin connecting to your breath.
Without judgment,
Notice the pace and depth of your breath.
See if,
On your next breath cycle,
You can deepen your breath just a little bit more.
Use your exhale to release any tension in the neck and shoulders,
Letting any stress tumble away off of your body.
Use your exhale to release any thoughts that find their way to the forefront of your mind.
Feel the thoughts drift away as you breathe in and out.
This time is for you and your peace of mind.
Continue using your breath to release any thoughts that pull you away from this peaceful present moment.
You are here,
And you are whole.
Now,
Let's begin our journey.
You find yourself sitting in the shade of a tree on a warm beach.
The midday sun heats the sand around you,
And a gentle wind draws wispy clouds through the sand.
The wind carries the sense of the ocean,
Salty and clear.
You run your hand through the sand next to you as you sit,
Noticing its soft,
Warm quality.
Slowly,
You stand up and begin walking towards the water's edge.
The sand warms your bare feet and makes soft crushing sounds as you step.
As you approach the water's edge,
You notice the sand getting cooler and firmer from the wash of the recent waves.
The water stretches lazily up the shore and back down into the bay.
Notice how the waves move with your breath,
Gentle and patient.
As you approach the water,
You allow the next wave to wash over your sweet feet.
The water is cool and soft.
You stay here for a moment,
The sun heating your back and the waves cooling your feet,
And you scan the horizon.
A few seagulls drift through the wind and distant waves lap up against the rocks at the edge of the bay.
Stepping out of the water,
You begin walking along the shore,
Leaving a trail of footprints parallel to the water's edge.
What a journey it has been thus far.
There is a harmony among your breath and the waves,
Your walking in the wind.
The sounds wash over you and clear your mind of thoughts or worries.
Your gaze traces the horizon again,
Taking in the expanse of blue that is the ocean.
The moon hangs above,
Showering the sky with the sun,
And its presence connects you to a deep sense of groundedness and belonging.
Just as we were born of the ocean,
So shall we return.
Allow yourself to walk along the water's edge for a time,
Taking in the sensations of the sunny ocean scape.
Let your mind wander.
Begin to return to the warm patch of sand where your journey began.
Perhaps on your way,
A white shell catches your eye or a sandpiper dances along the ground with you.
You feel connected to the earth with each step you take,
Grounding you in a deep sense of peace.
As you take a seat in the sand once again,
Allow the sense of peace to wash over your being.
The sun,
The wind,
And the ocean waves bless you today.
Allow their peace and joy to spread throughout your body in a beautiful bright light,
Illuminating your toes and fingers all the way up to the tips of your ears.
Here,
In this place of peace,
You are always welcome.
You are whole.
You might shine onto others.
Gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
Imagine the space in which you are currently sitting.
Wiggle your toes and fingers,
Remembering the sensations of your ocean journey,
But coming back into the present moment.
Set an intention to bring the sense of peace with you into your day.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
