Welcome to Active Meditation,
A Course in Miracles,
Lesson 6.
I am upset because I see something that is not there.
There are no small upsets.
They are all equally disturbing to my peace of mind.
I cannot keep this form of upset and let the others go.
For the purposes of these exercises,
Then,
I will regard them all as the same.
Let's practice with the feeling of anger.
First,
Find the source of your anger,
A person,
A situation,
Or an event.
I'll wait while you do this.
Say to yourself,
Say in your mind,
I am angry at,
I am the source,
Because I see something that is not there.
Do this now.
The three or four practice periods which are required should be preceded by a minute or so of mind-searching as before,
And the application of the idea to each upsetting thought uncovered in the search.
Let's practice again.
Say to yourself,
Say to your mind,
I am,
Describe the upset.
I am upset at,
Locate the source.
I am upset at the source,
Because I see something that is not there.
Practice this now,
With your defined upset and your located source.
I am upset,
Because I see something that is not there.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
