Good morning everyone.
Do I dare to say good morning thinking that you are probably listening to this early in the morning as the title of this short meditation is manifesting a calm morning.
Okay,
Let's get to it.
Sit down in a comfortable position,
Maybe cross your legs if that feels okay for you,
But remember comfort is queen.
As you're sitting down,
Try to relax your body as you're taking deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Start to really slow down your breath and try and feel your belly rise and fall as you inhale and exhale.
Take a moment to really feel your entire body.
Maybe let your knees fall to the side.
Feel how your sit bone is touching the ground or perhaps your feet are touching the ground if you're sitting on a chair.
Relax your shoulders away from your ears.
Relax your neck.
Even try to relax your jaw,
Your eyebrows and your tongue away from the roof of your mouth.
If you haven't already,
I invite you to close your eyes.
As you keep taking deep breaths in through your mouth,
In through your nose and out through your mouth,
Try and envision yourself in the first part of the day.
What kind of person do you see sitting in traffic?
How is that person reacting when the barista is taking maybe a little bit too long making the coffee at your favourite cafe?
How is that person responding to the children that don't want to get out of bed in the morning?
Or the boss that's in too bad of a mood to actually say good morning as you enter the office?
How does that person greet the bus driver as you get on the bus in the morning?
And perhaps look in the eyes of the people on the bus as opposed to looking down on your phone.
Breathe into what kind of person that you want to be in these life situations that we all come across in our mornings as we get up and out into our days.
How does this person react when your dog is barking and pulling you in the wrong way?
Or when you go out to get the paper and meet your neighbour out there on the lawn?
Very often if we're in a rush and not fully present,
We react and then afterwards we have an afterthought of how we wish we would have been in a certain situation.
But by seeing yourself and feeling into what kind of person you want to be in this moment,
You can manifest that version of you into the morning.
You can manifest that calmness and that presence right here.
And when you get on and out with your day,
Your body and your mind,
It's going to recognise how you want to be.
Take another deep breath in and feel that rush of calmness entering your body and sigh it all out as you relax in every muscle in your entire body.
Do another breath like that.
Breathe in all the calmness and exhale and relax in your entire body.
Start moving your fingers and your toes,
Maybe stretch a little bit.
Open your eyes.
Dress yourself in a beautiful smile and have a beautiful day.
