Hi,
I am so happy and grateful that you are choosing to be here right this moment.
My name is Alexandra Nash and I'm a certified Unplugged meditation teacher.
I hope that you have had a beautiful week so far.
I hope that you've spent some time doing the things that light you up and I also hope that you have gotten the rest that you feel that you needed.
Today we're going to spend some time connecting to our intuition,
Which actually means spending the bulk of time in silence and stillness.
I believe that in today's world we often look outside for answers to all sorts of questions.
What we want to eat,
Where we want to go on holiday,
What we want to work with,
When to make a pivot,
Take a risk.
But what if I asked you,
Yes you,
What do you really want?
All right,
Let's start today's session by taking two deep breaths in through our nose and out through our mouth.
Really start slowing down that breath and feel your belly rise and fall on your inhale and your exhale.
Drop your breath deep down into your belly.
Take a moment to feel your entire body.
Make sure you sit in a comfortable position.
You can be either cross-legged on the floor,
You can sit on a chair,
You can even lay down.
Start feeling how your body is connecting to whatever surface you're sitting or lying on.
Start relaxing your shoulders away from your ears.
Relax your neck,
Your jaw,
Your forehead,
Your lips,
And gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable to you.
Let's take another deep breath in together and release out through your mouth.
And as you keep taking deep breaths today,
Take all of your focus and energy and place it right at the center of your chest,
Your heart,
Your gut,
Wherever stillness lands for you.
As you keep breathing,
Try to slowly start focusing on your out-breath.
Let your out-breath be twice as long as your in-breath.
Keep focusing on keeping the out-breath long.
I know it can feel a little funny sitting in stillness just breathing.
Try and trust that your breath will lead the way.
And at the bottom of your last exhale,
Slowly start shifting the focus.
Shift the focus back inward to that deep place or room inside of yourself that only you can access.
Call it consciousness or soul or knowing.
And as you breathe into that place,
Let the feeling of peace,
Warmth,
And calm spread out through your body.
It's almost as if you're collecting that warm energy from deep inside of yourself and with your out-breath,
You're spreading it throughout your body.
Keep that breath.
And as you are present in that space within you,
Perhaps we can start by asking ourselves some very small questions to find that inner voice,
That intuition.
What do I really feel like eating today?
Do I want to eat what we planned,
What was on the menu,
What's in front of me?
Does my body actually crave something else at this moment?
Am I tired?
Am I thirsty?
Do I feel like skipping instead of walking?
Do I feel like stopping,
Hugging a tree?
Do I feel like going to that birthday party or not?
This is not a moment to react on the answers to the questions.
Rather,
It's just a moment to try and simply find the answers.
Keep focus on that breath and ask yourself those small questions.
Do I want to spend my day the way I had planned?
Did I always want cats or did I always really want a dog?
Do I want to live here?
Do I want to go for a walk or listen to music?
Finding the answers within ourselves to these smaller questions really builds up that intuition muscle for the bigger ones.
And now we're going to just let all of that go by taking a deep breath in and releasing that out through our mouth,
Staying connected to that inner room where only you know and you know your self-breath best.
Gently take two more deep breaths like that.
When we release all those questions,
Start wiggling your fingers and your toes.
Start coming back to the room,
To your body.
Maybe stretch a little bit and when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
I hope that you had a moment of stillness and that you found a piece of you within yourselves.
And I also hope that perhaps you can carve out another small moment of stillness in the week ahead.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
Have a beautiful and intentional day.
