All right friends,
Day four.
Day four is a fun one.
I want you to write about a big life lesson that you've experienced,
One that you weren't originally happy about,
And then one that you wouldn't think that you'd be grateful for now,
Right?
Looking back,
Retrospect.
So sometimes life can give us moments that shake us to our core.
These moments unravel parts of our lives that we may have avoided,
Parts of our lives that we just didn't know how to handle.
And what I love about this idea of living a life of gratitude is that even in those moments,
Even in those hard,
Tough,
Tear-jerking moments,
We can practice gratitude,
Live a life of gratitude in a way that brings us peace in the middle of chaos.
So it's about reframing.
It's about saying to yourself while you're going through that moment,
Hey look,
This is tough right now.
Maybe this will be a life lesson learned after I get through this.
You know,
Gratitude can be that motivator.
It can be that guide for us when we are struggling,
When we have this pool of uncertainty floating around us,
Right?
We're not sure of our next step.
What gratitude does,
What I love about gratitude is that it brings clarity.
First,
It brings this element of calm,
Right?
Calms us down,
Centers us,
Focuses us on,
Okay,
Where are we right now?
And what will life look like once I'm beyond this point?
It gives us a sense of peace,
Right?
Just being thankful for where you are,
Even in the midst of the struggles.
And then to take it a step further,
Once you're out of that chaos,
You can look back on moments,
Tough moments that you have and be grateful for them because they may teach you something either about yourself,
About someone else,
About the path that you may be going down.
Gratitude enlightens us.
It makes us aware.
That's why I say mindfulness and gratitude go hand in hand.
It brings us to the present moment.
So think about one life lesson that you weren't originally happy about,
Write about it,
And then I want you to kind of take it a step further even and say why you're grateful for it now.
Why are you grateful for that moment,
For having gone through whatever the experience may be?
And I will see you tomorrow.
