You know that feeling when something just keeps getting in the way?
You're doing the work,
Showing up,
Trying to move forward,
And still resistance.
It's frustrating right?
Our first instinct is usually,
How do I get past this?
How do I fix it,
Or change it,
Or avoid it,
How do I make it go away?
But what if that thing that feels in the way,
Is the way?
We tend to think that ease means alignment,
And that if something is hard or uncomfortable then something must be wrong.
But that's not always true.
In fact,
True growth can usually feel like friction.
You see,
You don't evolve by bypassing the hard things,
You evolve by facing them with your full presence.
So here's your invitation,
Don't fight it,
Don't flee it,
Feel it.
Ask it what it came to reveal to you,
Breathe with that and let it open something in you.
Let's try something together for just a few moments.
Think of one thing in your life right now that feels like it's blocking you.
Something that you're tired of bumping up against,
Or that feels hard or carries resistance with it.
Got it?
Now take a slow deep breath in,
And as you exhale drop your shoulders,
Relax your jaw and ask yourself,
What if this isn't here to stop me?
What if this is here to teach me something I couldn't learn any other way?
Notice what shifts even slightly.
What's in the way is an invitation to go deeper,
To look closer and to grow in a way you didn't plan.
So next time you feel that resistance crop up,
Just remember,
What's in the way is the way.
