You have found yourself in a comfortable position lying on your back.
Your eyes are closed,
Your legs are spread,
Arms down by your side.
Your palms are up towards the heavens,
Gesturing that you are ready to receive this meditative practice.
As you draw in a big and nourishing inhale,
Allow your chest and your belly to rise.
And as your exhale becomes audible,
You sigh and let go of any tension.
Another big,
Deep inhale through your nose and allow another audible sigh to release any stagnant energy in this moment.
I now give you permission to take up as much space as you need.
Re-adjust your legs and your arms,
Your shoulders and your head until you find just the right position to settle into.
Draw an inhale through your nose and follow that inhale straight to the bottoms of your feet.
Your feet are what carry you through this life and now is the moment to give them the breath and the opportunity to be at ease,
To release and relax completely.
You follow your next breath to your ankles,
Your calves,
And your shins.
Your breath fills this space as all of the ligaments,
Tendons,
And muscles begin to stretch and release.
Your body is beginning to melt away,
Becoming heavy and relaxed.
Draw another inhale and allow the breath to travel to your knees as they begin to surrender to the forces of gravity,
Along with all of the muscles in your quads and your hamstrings.
As you pause,
You notice that your lower body has almost disappeared,
Melted away,
Faded.
Now your attention moves to your pelvis and your glutes.
As you inhale deeply,
You fill up this space with breath and as you exhale,
All of the tension relinquishes its hold.
This space is home to the organs that process and transmute what you put into your body and now is the opportunity to nourish them with your breath and give them the space to relax and be at ease.
Another inhale gently shifts your attention to your heart center.
Here,
Take three big,
Deep,
And mindful breaths as you fill up your chest cavity and become keenly aware of your heart.
Your heart pumps endlessly,
Granting you the fullness of life and living,
And your breath fills your heart to the brim,
Leaving you overflowing with an easy sense of gratitude and love.
Your body is so still and so quiet,
You can hear the blood pumping through your veins.
Your next inhale fills your shoulders,
Your throat,
Your jaw,
And your exhale releases and clears all of the tension stored here.
Take another deep and profound inhale,
And as you exhale,
You make space in this area for you to clearly and concisely speak and communicate your truth.
Finally,
An inhale fills your ears and your eyes,
The space between your eyebrows and the crown of your head.
This is the space of perception within your body,
And your breath clears and softens these lenses.
You now release control over your breath as you scan your body from the tip of your toes to the crown of your head.
Your physical body has disappeared,
And all that is left is your spirit,
Your heartbeat,
And your breath.
You are floating in this calm,
Relaxed,
And easy space.
Enjoy your deep rest.
Namaste.
