In this meditation,
I'll be using a few prompts that can help elicit a greater sense of ease and deep relaxation.
To begin,
Just settle into a comfortable position,
Eyes open or closed.
For now,
There's no need to change or fix any aspect of your experience.
After each prompt that follows,
There will be a brief period of silence.
So let's begin.
In this moment,
Is there any attempt on your part to direct the flow of attention?
If so,
Just relax and release that effort.
Do you notice any effort to arrive somewhere else?
To get yourself into some other state of mind?
If so,
Just relax that effort.
Are you experiencing any effort to understand or define this moment?
If so,
You can release that effort.
Are you finding yourself trying to control your thinking or feeling?
If so,
Just let go of any effort to control.
Are you aware of any effort to hold onto your experiences?
To keep them from changing?
If so,
Just release that effort.
In these final moments of the meditation,
Allow yourself to enjoy the feelings of deep rest and relaxation that come about when we let go of our efforts to change or control the moments of life.
And instead,
Simply allow what is to be as it is.
