Find a comfortable place to either sit down or lie down as we make our way to winding down the day.
Take a moment to pause and check in.
Notice where the tension or the bracing or the tightness may be inhabiting your body.
Equally so,
Noticing where your body feels free,
Expansive,
At ease.
Notice how these spaces are different from one another.
Some feel contracted and restricted,
While others feel open and free.
Allow yourself to take the opportunity to pause and allow yourself to recognize and your body to recognize that the day has come to an end.
All of the activity can come to a close and we prepare ourselves to reflect on the day and also to let it go so that we may rest.
Allowing yourself to settle in,
To make yourself more comfortable.
Breathing in and out through the nose.
Allowing whatever has happened throughout the day to come up,
To come into your awareness.
And without pushing it away or grasping,
Allowing those highlights or low points to move across your mind's eye.
And one at a time,
We acknowledge them,
We integrate them,
And we release them.
As those moments of the day come to mind,
Breathe into them.
Allow them to be part of you.
Breathing in and knowing you are breathing in.
Breathing out and knowing you are breathing out.
As we turn our attention to downshifting our energy for the day,
We're making our way to rest.
We're making our way to the time of the day where we stop.
We stop the working and the thinking and the doing.
And we lean into the being.
Being still.
Being at peace.
We give everything that might get in the way of our moment of peace the opportunity to drain away from our bodies.
Drain away from our minds.
You can pick them back up tomorrow if necessary,
But for now,
We are unburdening ourselves.
We are setting these things aside so that we may fully rest.
Fully restore.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Inhaling,
We bring in fresh oxygen and we bring in space.
And exhaling,
We let go of tension and stale air.
We are exchanging something new and something old.
Bringing in something new and releasing something that's already happened,
It's already been experienced.
As we bring our meditation to a close,
Bringing one or both hands to your heart center.
And reminding yourself that it's okay to allow the day to end.
