Taking some time to sit down and make yourself comfortable,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a nice gentle deeper breath in and out and closing down the eyes,
Allowing your eyes to rest and relax and connect with your breath,
Allowing the awareness of your breath to take you deeper within.
Today's mindful moment is a breathing technique called box breathing.
This technique has recently become very popular,
Popularised by its use by Navy Seals to take them from a state of high anxiety to grounding and centred.
The technique is simple,
Breathing in for a count of four,
Holding for a count of four,
Breathing out for a count of four and holding for a count of four.
Please remember that everyone has different lung capacity and speed of breathing,
So the pace set in this recording may be a little too slow or a little too fast for you.
This recording is a template for you to learn and practice at your own speed.
So breathing out fully,
And on my timing,
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Breathing out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And letting your breath return to normal.
This simple technique is wonderfully powerful at times of stress and anxiety.
Bringing this technique back with you as you have a gentle stretch,
A slightly deeper awakening breathing in and out,
And you can open your eyes and return to the day.
