Taking a gentle deeper breath in and out and closing the eyes,
Allowing the eyes to rest and relax,
Connecting with the breath,
Allowing the breath to take you a little deeper within.
Today's mindful moment is about creating a positive sleep habit.
These are only suggestions.
For better sleep,
It can be hugely advantageous to go to bed at the same time every evening.
It can be hugely beneficial to avoid nicotine or caffeine after lunchtime.
It can be wonderfully beneficial to write a note of all your thoughts and put them aside for the morning.
It can be incredibly beneficial to avoid reading or watching the news from mid-afternoon.
It is hugely beneficial to have as dark a room as possible.
It is very beneficial to avoid the use of screens,
Whether it's television or tablets or phones whilst lying in bed.
And it is wonderfully beneficial to connect with your breathing and to deepen it as you start to fall asleep,
To do a body scan and release any discomfort or unease,
Helping to quieten the mind and helping you to drift down into a natural state of deeper and deeper sleep.
And with those thoughts in mind and setting an intention to create a better and more positive sleeping habit,
You can take a gentle stretch,
A deeper breath in and out,
And opening the eyes,
Returning to the day.
