Hi,
My name is Angela,
And today we're going to do a self-love meditation.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable space that could be sitting on the floor with some props,
Maybe a cushion underneath you and your legs crossed or straight out in front of you.
It could be sitting in a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
After you find that comfortable space,
Begin by straightening the back as if someone is pulling a string at the top of your head.
Finally placing your hands on your thighs,
Either face up or face down,
Whatever feels more comfortable to you.
Rolling the shoulders up,
Back,
And down a couple of times to loosen them up a bit,
Allowing your chin to be level with the ground.
Gently closing your eyes if that feels comfortable for you.
If not,
You can keep your eyes open and find something to just keep your focus on.
This is where your gaze will be during the entire meditation.
Breathing in through the nostrils and breathing out through the nostrils,
We'll begin by doing a short body scan,
Beginning at the top of our head,
Allowing our eyebrows to relax,
Relaxing our cheekbone,
Softening our jawbone,
Relaxing our shoulders,
Arms,
Relaxing the fingers,
The torso,
Relaxing our thighs,
Moving down into our feet,
And even letting our toes go and just relaxing them.
Something to bring to mind,
An object could be a person or an animal or a thing that invokes great joy,
Something that brings a smile to your face.
Think about that thing right now.
Allow this image to just appear in your mind's eye and generate,
Allow that feeling of love and happiness to generate through your body,
Filling you up,
Starting at the heart center,
Expanding upwards to the top of your head and downwards towards the bottom of your feet and outward towards the end of your fingertips.
Perhaps this feeling is a color like a shining light radiating through your entire body.
Bringing that love very strongly to your own heart center,
Bringing to mind all of the wonderful qualities that you possess as this amazing being that you are.
For every beautiful thing and every beautiful person that you see is just an outward reflection of the beauty lying within side of yourself.
Taking a moment to think about the beautiful flower that you may have recently seen or the beautiful person that you have admired,
The nice thing that you've witnessed someone else do,
That beauty,
That kindness,
That love is in you also.
You are loved beyond words.
You are love.
Bringing to mind something that you did at any point in your life that was kind towards another person,
Could have been yesterday or last week,
Could be something small as holding the door open,
Letting someone go in front of you on the line to get their latte,
Texting a kind word to a friend.
Think about that,
That kind,
Beautiful,
Loving thing that you did towards another and keep your mind focused on it for just a moment.
Beginning to think of one more moment of kindness that you did towards someone else.
Thinking about that for a moment.
Thinking about all of the things that others love about you.
Do you make them laugh?
Do you always have an uplifting word?
Have you always been loyal to a friend?
Are you gentle?
Are you the one that's there always to help?
Are you there to give people strength at all times?
Bringing the mind back to something beautiful that you have seen,
That you admire.
Allowing it to bring a smile to your face.
Remembering that that is just a mirror of reflection of the beauty that lies within you.
The beautiful flower that you see is just the beautiful flower and the beauty that lies within you.
As you go throughout the day,
I would love for you to use the mantra,
I love myself just the way I am.
Remembering that all the beauty you see on the outside is just a reflection of the beauty that lies within you.
Beginning to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Gently moving your body.
Lightly opening your eyes if they were shut.
And going out into the world filled with love to spread more love because you are love.
Namaste.
