Welcome. This is Anna Choi, Energy coach. And the question I get a lot is how does the ego partner with the soul? A lot of times the default relationship to the soul with the ego is one of annoyance or irritation of wanting to quiet the noise or allow the noise and not be impacted by it being equanimous. But what if we could switch our mindset and the ego can actually in fact be the greatest partner with the soul? From my Taoist based teachers and energy masters, They have shared this analogy which when I first heard it, Transformed my relationship to my own ego and hope it can do the same for you. Imagine that your body is a rental car. You have it for a short period of time and then when you pass away, You give the car back. Now where is the ego and the soul in this analogy? So just imagine that the driver of the car is in fact the ego and the soul is sitting in the back seat. What? Isn't the soul the one that helps drive it? Well, If we take a closer look, The soul is actually blindfolded in the back seat. It can't see. Its energy is too high. You can imagine it needs the ego to drive it around. And at first our egos can be like road ragers reacting to everything that the body or the rental car comes across in our journey of life. Now the soul is the one that knows where it's going and it needs to give instructions to the ego. But if the ego is too busy reacting, It can't hear the soul's directions and guidance. And over time as we can shift our mindset to having that ego be our chauffeur who's here to support us, Ask where do you want to go? I'll take you there. I am the vehicle. Use my voice. Use my identity to express the soul here on earth. It's a whole different conversation. So rather than try to quote unquote like a mom, Quiet the child down, That's meh meh meh meh meh meh meh. Instead we can love the ego in whatever way that might look to help it feel safe, Calm down and then work with it. And as the ego is able to hear the soul's voice more and more over time, Then the soul's able to drive wherever it wants to go through the ego. So next time there's a trigger or you might get reactive about something or have an unwanted response to a situation. For myself, I found those are the best times to love myself and the ego that just flared up like a screaming child. You don't make the child wrong and yell more back, Although you might on occasion of being human. You simply be with the reaction and eventually you hug the little ego child and in embracing that they're now ready to listen. Okay, Where do you want to go? Show me. And over time that partnership can really blossom. I am simply a fellow student along with you discovering this principle in reality and I hope that Reframe helps you in your life next time. The ego has a tantrum that you can embrace it with the soul and learn to drive together. Thanks for tuning in. This is Anna Choi.

Brilliant, thank you for sharing this wisdom. My driver often behaved like an underpaid taxi driver in downtown Chicago and I have definitely not considered him a partner. This insight is appreciated. ❤️

The analogy is very helpful to me right now, as my ego is more like a race car driver right now than a chauffeur. I feel like I have some more ways of connecting my soul and ego. Many thanks. 🙏
