Welcome to this meditation on honoring commitments to yourself.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
You may sit or lie down.
Whatever feels most supportive to your body.
Allow your hands to rest softly.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And slowly exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Filling your lungs.
And exhale,
Letting your shoulders soften.
Today's meditation is about honoring commitments you make to yourself.
So often,
We show up for others.
For our responsibilities,
Our work,
Our families.
But the promises we make to ourselves,
Those are just as important.
Now bring to mind a commitment you've made to yourself.
It might be something small,
Like resting when you need rest.
Or making time for creativity.
Or speaking kindly to yourself.
Or perhaps it's something deeper.
A commitment to growth.
Or healing.
Or having a more balanced life.
No need to judge.
Simply acknowledge the commitment you have made or would like to make to yourself.
Notice how it feels to recognize that promise.
This commitment is a way of honoring your own life.
It is a way of saying,
My needs matter.
My well-being matters.
And my life matters.
Imagine that commitment as a small light within you.
A steady flame.
Every time you follow through with kindness toward yourself,
The flame grows brighter.
Every moment you listen to your needs,
Your flame grows stronger.
You don't have to be perfect.
Honoring commitments to yourself is not about never faltering.
It's about returning.
Returning to care.
Returning to intention.
Returning to yourself.
On your next breath in,
Silently say to yourself,
I honor my needs and my commitments to myself.
Allow this intention to settle gently within you,
Like planting a seed.
I honor my needs and my commitments to myself.
Small choices,
Small acts of self-respect can grow into lasting change.
Now,
Before we close,
Take a moment to feel gratitude.
Gratitude for the effort you make to care for yourself.
Gratitude for the awareness that brought you here today and that will carry you through honoring commitments to yourself.
Begin to deepen your breath and allow yourself to become aware of the space you are in.
Be well and feel good for all the ways you honor commitments to yourself.
Thank you.
