
Reiki Relaxation Circle Session 15
About three-quarters of the way through 2020, I felt that there was an immense need for healing, of humanity, and of the planet, and began doing a weekly online Reiki Relaxation Circle. This need continues today and I would love to have more people able to access these healing meditation sessions so I am sharing them here on Insight Timer. In this session, we focus on gratitude during the pandemic.

Hello everyone and welcome to this,
My last Reiki Relaxation Circle for 2020.
I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we all practice the session today.
For myself I would like to pay my respects to the Elders past,
Present and emerging of the Wurundjeri people.
So for today,
For my final session,
I wanted to approach this with the intention of elevating gratitude for everybody.
I think at this time of year it's a good idea to have a shorter version than what we've done before because everybody is so busy and whether you're you know kind of in lockdown or you've come out there's still all the obligatory festive season celebrations and catch-ups and all those sorts of things and if you're having to do that via Zoom and this is yet another recording I do feel for you I know what it's like but I just wanted to do a slightly shorter version today and for us to focus on gratitude because obviously it's been a really tough year many people feeling that they have lost a lot and in some cases that will be people that are close to them or animals I lost one of my cats in our first lockdown in here in Melbourne Australia and I think it's a wonderful practice to bring gratitude into your day and it's something I'd really encourage you to do on a daily basis it's great for you to actually write down what you're grateful for and it can be a really quick and simple thing to do either at the beginning or the end of each day and you'll find that it really opens up your heart energy your love energy and this is the energy that bridges our physical body and our spiritual body and is so important to attract to us what we want and what we need in this lifetime so for today now if you've participated and done some of the other Reiki relaxation circles we will have done two meditations in each of those one focusing on sending healing to you and then the other one on sending it out to the world the wider world wider humanity and back to Mother Earth herself the source of all of our energy for today we are going to do both things at once and this is what is possible with this energy that we're working with so let's start off by getting yourself into a really comfortable position and what we've done previously is placed our hands either facing ourselves or facing outwards depending on which way we are directing the energy so for today I'd encourage you to place one hand on yourself so palm facing yourself and the other hand palm facing away from you and in this way we are going to direct energy to you and both through you and out into the wider world so ideally what we do is we place the right hand or your most dominant hand facing you so getting yourself into a position where you're either sitting or lying down and you can place one hand on your body if you're lying it's really nice to place that hand on your heart space so on your chest and then with the other hand your left hand or your non-dominant hand have that facing away from you so if you're sitting you might like to have the left hand just resting in your lap if you're lying just having it next to you palm facing up and starting off by just really slowing your breath down this is a wonderful tool that we all have access to all the time is our breath to help us to relax to help us to heal so starting to notice your breath and consciously slowing it down and deepening it carrying your inhalation all the way to the bottom of your belly feeling the belly expand with that breath and then when you're releasing completely letting everything go with that breath feeling your body relax as you let go of the breath and feeling your mind relax as well as you focus it fully on the breath and on the sound of my voice so just keeping going with that really slow deep breath and I'm going to start directing the energy healing to you and with your palm facing you you may start to then feel that energy moving through you and you may feel in the other palm that's facing away from you that that you can feel that energy moving through you and out of you so we will go through a similar process to what we've done in the past with directing the energy through us and out of us but we're going to just combine that with the rest of the meditation for today focusing on gratitude so with the breath now I'd invite you to start taking your focus to how the breath feels in the chest in the heart space noticing the rise and fall of the chest noticing the expansion of the chest and when we're talking about expansion we can begin to notice the energetic expansion of the heart energy of your love energy as well as the physical expansion of your lungs and your ribs so continuing to breathe deeply and fully and feeling into the chest the heart space the love energy center and then for our first little bit of gratitude practice let's bring something to mind that we are grateful for so something that's happened in the last 24 hours is ideal and it can be something very small may simply be that the Sun was shining today and carrying that thought that gratitude into the heart space on notice noticing the sensations that you have when you are being grateful noticing how the heart the love energy feels even more expansive as we take gratitude there and the energy is sending magnetically out from you with gratitude being grateful to yourself that you've taken the time to participate in this relaxation practice and being grateful to yourself and to the universe for the energy that you're going to receive so then we'll continue our focus on our breath and breathing in and with the exhalation now sending that love that gratitude that energy out to everyone in the building in which you are currently practicing and deep breath in and exhaling sending energy out to everyone within the neighborhood in which you are practicing and another deep breath in and sending energy out to everyone within your town and your city and we're sending the energy not only to people but to animals to plants any living creature within our town or city deep breath in and sending the energy out to every living creature within your state your province your territory and another deep breath in and sending love and energy out to everyone within your country breathing deeply and fully in and then breathing out and sending love and gratitude out to every living creature all around the world and a last big deep inhalation breathing all the love and energy into yourself and then releasing exhaling and sending love and energy and healing back to Mother Earth and now if you would like to you can continue to focus on your breath and noticing that inhalation and exhalation we are also going to take our attention to the seven main energy centers in your body what many people refer to as the chakras these areas in the body are particularly open to both giving and receiving energy so it makes sense to work with them when we are working with energy so I'd invite you to feel and notice the breath being carried into your foundation energy center which is right at the bottom of the spine you may find it useful to visualize that energy as the color red and just feel or notice visualize a red energy at the bottom of your spine it's a warm and comforting red and it may be useful to visualize it glowing brighter as you breathe in you breathe energy into it and expanding outwards and growing bigger as you exhale and feeling the gratitudes that are related to this energy center thinking and noticing what you are grateful for that makes you feel safe and secure and really important to not take this as an opportunity to start thinking about all the reasons why you may not feel safe and secure in various aspects of your life but really trying to notice and bring to mind something that you're grateful for it may simply be that you have a roof over your head breathing in and feeling grateful for the tribe the connections that you have the tribe of people that you belong to your friends and family grateful for that sense of belonging that sense of safety breathing in and feeling grateful for your body for the health that you have at the moment and even if you're not terribly well being grateful that you're well enough to do this relaxation exercise breathing in and being grateful thinking about what you're grateful for from your birth family the family that gave you life and again even if perhaps there's a lot of things that don't make you feel grateful at least the very least you can feel grateful that you have this life and then we're going to move on up to our second energy center our creation energy which is just above your pubic bone so really low down in your abdomen and you may with this one find it useful to visualize the orange light of the energy and again visualizing it growing brighter as you breathe in and expanding as you breathe out feeling that sensation within your low belly as you breathe in feeling grateful for whatever ways you have in your life to express your creativity it may be cooking it may be gardening it may be a visual art or a stage performance art it may be that you were able to bring your beautiful children into the world and with your next breath feeling grateful for the vast range of emotions that you have available to you even though we don't always think that they're positive feeling grateful for the emotions that you've been able to express within the last 24 hours feeling grateful for your close relationships the partnerships that you've created in this life and if you feel that some of them are missing feeling grateful for the lessons that you've learned from the relationships that you've had in the past feeling grateful for your sexuality and then we will move on up to your third energy center the power center the solar plexus between your navel and your the bottom of your rib cage feeling grateful for the ways in which you are empowered in your life maybe your ability to support yourself with an income maybe any activism that you participate in and remembering always if you think these things are missing then feeling the gratitude that you can for the lessons that you've learned in the past for the fact that you are empowered enough to do this meditation right now feeling grateful for the motivation that you have to take self-care by doing this kind of exercise and motivation that you have in any other area of life feeling grateful for your energy whatever levels of energy you have you do have some feeling grateful for balance for being able to balance out all the busyness or the activeness of life with this chance to stop and be noticing the pulsing yellow energy of this energy center glowing and expanding then breathing in once more and we'll carry our focus and attention up to the heart once more in the middle of your chest you can visualize a green glowing energy glowing brighter as you breathe in and expanding outwards as you exhale being grateful for all the love that you have experienced in your life once again not dwelling on the love that may be missing but noticing how you can be grateful for the love that you have now and in the past being grateful for your ability to expand your energy out to other people being grateful for having other creatures other beings to love in your life being grateful for compassion for compassion that you have received from others and the compassion that you're able to feel for others and carrying our attention now up to the fifth energy center the throat our truth energy so feeling that energy within the middle of your throat a pulsing aquamarine light that glows brighter as you breathe in and expands broader as you exhale being grateful for ways in which you have been able to express your truth for the people that you feel able to have frank and honest and open conversations with being grateful that you live somewhere where you can use your voice you do have a choice and again even if you feel that you are trapped in ways you don't have all the choices you want being grateful for the small choices that you can make each day such as the choice to do this meditation right now being grateful for all of your senses your sense of taste what deliciousness has that brought to you in the last 24 hours your sense of hearing some beautiful music perhaps that you've listened to your sense of smell being able to inhale the beautiful floral aromas that you walk past and your sense of touch being able to touch others other people your pets in ways that express your love and to receive touching turn and moving up to your sixth energy center in the middle of your forehead your insight energy your third eye and noticing here a deep purple light that glows brighter as you breathe in and expands broader as you breathe out feeling grateful for your intuition not for all the times that you didn't use it when you thought with hindsight you could have but for all those little ways in which you know you know you can predict something and you act upon it being grateful for the opportunity to delve into yourself to turn your thoughts inwards being grateful for all the times you've been able to use your intellect and your intelligence being grateful for this opportunity to use your visualization skills being grateful for your amazing brain you wouldn't be able to do any of this if it wasn't for that incredible piece of technological hardware inside your head and then lastly let's carry our attention up to the crown of your head the seventh energy center your connection energy and noticing here a glowing white light glowing brighter as you breathe in and expanding upwards and outwards from the crown of your head to connect you to all other life in the universe feeling grateful for this connection feeling grateful for your faith your beliefs your spirituality feeling grateful to the higher powers that you believe in feeling grateful to the universe for giving you a purpose in this life even if you don't know what that is yet we are all here for a reason and then with your next inhalation just noticing the breath traveling all the way down from the crown of your head through each of those energy centers down to the bottom of your spine and as you exhale noticing them all receiving the energy and all letting go of any energy any thought patterns any toxicity that they need to release and taking another two deep breaths breathing in releasing breathing in one more time and releasing thank you so much for
