About three-quarters of the way through 2020, I felt that there was an immense need for healing, of humanity, and of the planet, and began doing a weekly online Reiki Relaxation Circle. This need continues through 2021 and I would love to have more people able to access these healing meditation sessions so I am sharing them here on Insight Timer. In this session, we focus on letting go of worry with support from Full Moon energy.

Hello everyone.

Good evening.

Welcome to my Reiki Relaxation Circle for this evening,

Wednesday 30th of September.

I'm Arwen from Evenstar Wellbeing.

I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we are all practising on this evening or at whatever point you do watch the recording.

I would like to pay my respects to the elders past,

Present and emerging of the Wurundjeri people who are the traditional custodians of the lands on which I am joining you this evening.

So I am a holistic health and wellbeing coach and also a Reiki master and I'm offering these circles every week,

Every Wednesday night at 7.

30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.

I do think next week it's going to be summertime.

So just be aware of that if you are wanting to join in live.

I am going to take us through the same or similar process as what we've been through in the past weeks with these circles and the purpose of the circle is to provide healing to everybody who participates through the connection that we all have at all times and also for us to then channel that energy and redirect it further to everybody else around the world that we are connected with through many different ways and then also redirecting the energy back to Mother Earth that really is the source of all life and all energy for all of us.

My glasses always annoy me,

I really should remember to take them off before I start recording.

So I wanted to do this for the last three months of 2020 because it has been such a difficult year for everybody and I think that it is something that is of great benefit and I wanted to do my bit to give back to everybody out there who's had a really tough year.

Please make sure when you are participating that you are physically very comfortable.

You can certainly lie down and listen to this,

I'm not going to be doing anything particularly interesting that you need to watch so you can just pay all of your attention to your sense of hearing and yes,

Just make sure also that you've got maybe an additional layer for warmth because your body temperature will drop while you go into a deep relaxed state.

Although having said that because we are using energy and working with energy that does sometimes mean that in fact you can feel quite warm but either way you're better off to have an extra layer close by,

A blanket or maybe an extra jumper just in case you need it.

So the way that this works is that within this healing circle we are all connected and we are all able to receive and channel the energy that is available to us all,

All the time.

It's universal energy,

It is around all of us all the time and we are able to access that via our connection so even though I'm not physically with you in the same space we are connected by this energy and therefore able to channel this energy.

Reiki if you have not done any Reiki before is an energy healing practice originating from Japan almost 100 years old and you will find that pretty much all traditional healing practices from all around the world will have an energy healing component.

So as a Reiki master and any Reiki practitioner is trained and attuned to this universal energy and then able to channel that and direct it wherever we want it to go.

So you can think about it like a radio station that your favourite radio station is always there but you need to have a piece of equipment that is tuned to the right channel in order for you to be able to hear what is going on at the radio station and that is the same with this energy so think of me as your little portable radio.

So I'm going to be sending Reiki to you and for the first part you will direct that energy to yourself and then I will also be asking you to redirect energy further out from you.

So it's like we're throwing a little stone into a pond and the ripples are spreading out further and further so that we can use that energy to reach as many people as we possibly can and also animals,

Even plants and also as I mentioned before right back to Mother Earth.

So because everything is energy it makes sense that when we receive energy in this way we do feel better.

So first of all I just want in each of these sessions we're just looking at the five principles or precepts of Reiki to start with because this is a whole of life practice if it's something that you want to explore a bit further and they're just beautiful principles so I think it is worth becoming familiar with them and you might even want to use them as affirmations yourself.

So the five guidelines or five principles or precepts of the practice of Reiki are for today only I will let go of anger,

For today only I will let go of worry,

For today only I will live with gratitude,

For today only I will work hard on myself and for today only I will be kind to all people.

Now you will find that they may have,

You might find them with slightly different types of wording in different settings and that's obviously because they've been translated from a completely different language structure but they've always got the same general meaning regardless of the exact wording that's used.

We're going to focus on one of these principles today and that is what we've done in all of these sessions in the past and I'm going to,

We're going to focus on for today only I will let go of worry again.

And if you have been following all of these you might be wondering well why haven't we yet done the be kind to all people principle and I'm,

We absolutely will but I'm really trying to work with the energy theme of the week each time and for today I wanted to focus on worry because we have a full moon coming up.

So depending on where you are this will be either tomorrow the 1st of October or on the 2nd of October and it is a pretty energetic full moon.

So it,

You know,

I believe that the moon really has an impact on us all because we have so much water in our bodies and it obviously,

And water,

The element of water really works with our emotions.

So this full moon and all full moons encourage,

Allow,

Support letting go of things,

Allowing us to make room and cleanse and make space for what it is that we need to bring into our lives instead and this full moon especially.

Now I will talk about that a little bit more after we've done our first part of the meditation.

So there's kind of two parts to the meditation work that we're doing,

The relaxation work that we're doing tonight but they kind of will blend into one so it's going to be,

You know,

A good chunk of,

I haven't timed it but maybe 20,

25 minutes where you are going to be still so as I said make sure you're going to be warm,

Make sure you're going to be comfortable.

There's no rules around you can't move or you can't readjust your position at all but it certainly helps for you to be able to take your focus away from the physical and inside of you if your physical body is comfortable.

So as I mentioned for the first part of the meditation we're going to be directing energy to ourselves.

So what I would invite you to do is to actually place your hands on your body so depending on whether you're lying down or sitting up that it's going to vary what feels comfortable.

As I mentioned before with this full moon coming up in the next couple of days we're really working with our creation energy,

Our emotional energy which is one of our seven essential energies.

And this is located very low down on your abdomen so when I say located that the center of that energy is located in this physical place but it's a lot bigger than a little spot on your physical body.

It's got so much more involvement in your mental,

Your emotional,

Your spiritual self and state of well-being as well as the physical body.

But a good way to access this energy and direct the energy that I'm going to be channeling to you is to actually place your hands very low down on your abdomen.

So if you're sitting you can literally probably just sit with your hands resting in your lap but palms against that lowest part of your abdomen.

If you're lying then you can certainly rest your hands there as well if that is comfortable.

However if you have a particular pain somewhere in your body then this is the point in the evening when I would encourage you to actually place your hands on that painful part of your body.

Now that's not always possible if it's somewhere on your back that's really awkward to reach when you're placing yourself in a comfortable position.

Then you can also place your hands on the other side.

So for example if you do have a back pain you could place your hands on the front of your body on the opposite side of your body from where that pain is.

But really you want them to be as close as possible to the source of that pain.

So I will just give you a couple of moments to do that so eyes closing down or lowering your gaze I'd really encourage you to to shut the eyes right down so that you're closing off that visual area of stimulation again being able to direct your senses more inwards to you.

So I am now sending you Reiki energy so for the first minute or so I just encourage you to with the closed eyes slow your breathing down.

So really taking very long slow deep breaths the longest breaths that you've taken all day today.

Making sure that you're carrying that inhalation right down to the bottom of your belly.

And then with the exhalation even more important to make sure that is super slow allowing absolutely every little last ounce of air to leave your body.

Because with that exhalation you are also activating that letting go process that energetic process of letting go which the full moon is going to support you with.

So just keeping going I'm not going to direct you as to when to breathe in or when to breathe out because everybody's rate of breathing is different but just be aware and be focused on your breath such that you can really slow it down for yourself.

Whatever pace that means for you.

And while you're doing that you may start to feel energy flowing through your hands.

You may not.

It is whether you can feel it or not.

So if you can feel it then that's a really nice thing to focus yourself on as well.

So as I mentioned we are going to use our first meditation to focus on the Reiki principle of for today only I will let go of worry.

We're going to use this as a mantra.

And a mantra means a mind vehicle so it is this that is going to be carrying your mind not anything else not all the little thoughts and distractions that we constantly have available to us at the moment.

While we are using that as a mantra so I will guide you with that I'm going to play some beautiful music with gongs from the Reiki timer with Pamela Miles app.

Which I'm just giving a little plug to then because it's so good and the every 30 seconds the gong will go off and I will repeat the mantra for you so you don't need to say it out loud.

You can think it as frequently as you like because you that is what is your focus for the next five minutes.

So I'm going to press go on our music.

For today only I will let go of worry.

So just remaining with your eyes closed and hopefully still or beginning to feel the energy really flowing into you.

So over the next two month period we have three full moons and again depending on where you live you'll have two means either two full moons rather either in October or in November this year.

But three in total over the next two months for all of us.

We've had such a challenging year energy wise and in all ways this year and it really doesn't feel like the last few months as far as what the cosmos what the universe is throwing at us is really letting up with the energy being strong.

But this energy with these four moons is certainly a different different kind of energy and really is an energy supporting us to purge and release.

And to me that seems very different to the heaviness and the kind of holding on the stuckness of the energy that we've had for a good part of the year.

So I've recently started looking into Vedic or Sidereal Astrology and finding it really fascinating and that places the full moon of the first or second of October depending on where you are in a different sign to where it would be placed according to tropical western astrology which is the type of astrology that most of us in the west at least are familiar with.

So respectively the moon will either be considered to be in Pisces from the Vedic Sidereal side or in Aries from the western tropical side of astrology.

But as far as I can tell from what I've read either way it's a very strong cleansing,

Purging and yes emotional energy for this full moon.

So it's either the fiery cleansing of Aries or the watery cleansing of Pisces.

So either way we are being called to cleanse.

And in Vedic Astrology this moon is associated with the celestial serpent of the sea which also really immediately made me think about the water dragon of Celtic mythology which is my own background.

So what we're going to do now is use this energy that we've topped up in you.

I'm continuing to send energy to you so we're not using your energy we are using universal energy at all times in this practice.

We are going to use the energy now to redirect it further outwards to all living beings in connection with you in wider and wider circles and also back to Mother Earth herself.

So I'd now invite you to again reassess make sure you're comfortable and warm and this time though I'd invite you to place your hands facing outwards so palms facing outward.

You might like if you're lying down to put yourself into a Shavasana,

A corpse pose position so with your hands,

Your arms beside you a little bit away from you,

Palms facing up.

If you're sitting then your palms could perhaps just be resting in your lap or the backs of the hands resting in your lap with the palms facing up and outwards as well.

So just readjust your position and then once again focusing on the breath and feeling the energy of the breath this time so you're receiving the universal Reiki energy via the work that I am doing as we do this session and you're also bringing energy into yourself with your breath.

So breathing in the energy of Mother Earth you might be able to sense regardless of whatever is between you and the Earth herself whatever layers of buildings or fabrics or construction materials you are connected to the Earth.

And when we breathe in I like to think that we are breathing in the energy of the Earth and then with your exhalation you are breathing out energy to the universe.

So I'd like you then to start to take your focus although you're still continuing to breathe all the way deep down into your belly you can focus on the sensation of the breath within the heart space so within the chest area and feeling the expansion and the contraction that rhythmically occurs with the inhalation and exhalation.

And then as well as that physical sensation of the chest and you may also when you pay attention be able to actually feel your heart beating within your chest but start to sense and feel and visualize the heart as an energetic being that it is your heart center your love center.

It really helps us to activate this center when we are feeling gratitude.

So I'd invite you to bring something to mind that you are grateful for from today however small might be a nice walk that you were able to have.

It might be that you got through all your to-do list whatever it is bringing that thought that gratitude into your mind and then carrying it from your mind into your heart.

And that's actually going to allow that heart energy to be stoked you'll feel within your heart a sense of expansion when you focus gratitude into it.

So feeling that love energy expanding outwards from you with the amazing magnetic power of your heart which is one of the strongest magnetic energies in the body.

And sending your energy your love out to everybody else who might be in the house with you or wherever you are in the building that you are in.

Sending your love energy out to them.

And taking a deep breath in and then with each exhalation we're going to continue that ripple of energy outwards from us.

So with the next exhalation visualizing sensing feeling into sending that energy out to your whole neighborhood.

Every living creature within your neighborhood is receiving love energy through you.

And then sending that energy even further out to everybody in your city or in your district.

Every body every creature every plant receiving that loving energy that you are channeling and sending out.

And then even further sending that energy out to everyone in your province or in your state.

And then with the next breath sending that energy out to everybody in your country.

I'd like to visualize the ripples of energy like they were particles of light or sound or vibrations.

Seeing that happening in your mind's eye.

And then even further we are sending this energy out to everybody on the planet.

And between us all I'm sure we've got everybody covered.

Again every animal every plant every person is receiving this loving energy.

And then last but very much not least we are directing this energy back to the great source of all energy for all life to the planet to Mother Earth.

So you're breathing in through her and you're breathing back out to her.

So I'm now going to guide you through a visualization.

So holding on to that sensation of the energy going through you and out you out of you whilst I guide you through.

I'll play the singing bowl at the end.

There's no obligation to come back to the circle at all.

You can go on to whatever you need to go on to either mentally or physically at the end of the meditation.

I'm just remembering that meditation is about refocusing your mind.

So a visualization gives you something to focus on and you may drift away into your own thoughts momentarily.

But the practice of meditation is the practice of refocusing on whatever it is that you need to focus on.

Not of emptying your mind but instead of focusing it.

So starting the visualization now we are standing beside a very dark lake.

This is the lake of all your unconscious worries.

The lake water is dark but the sun is setting on the horizon opposite you.

So you can see the colour of beautiful orange rippling across the water.

The wind gently causes the water to move.

And although it's very dark you can see the glints of something shiny deep below the surface.

And suddenly immediately in front of you the water begins to bubble and boil.

And you don't feel fear or apprehension but instead you have a great sense of joy and excitement as a water dragon appears.

She bows her huge head down in front of your feet and you clamber on top.

Holding tightly to the folds of her strangely dry and soft scaly skin at the back of her head.

You close your eyes as the dragon effortlessly turns around lifting high and then diving into the depths of the dark,

Dark lake.

After a few moments you realise that you don't feel wet,

You're completely dry,

Your skin and your clothing somehow impervious to this water.

You can also breathe and you can see clearly.

There is nothing to fear.

You have complete trust in the dragon.

You feel calm and have a complete sense of freedom.

In this way you travel around the depths of the lake of your unconscious.

You notice as you travel around many things from your past at the bottom of the lake.

People,

Places,

Events,

Versions of yourself.

They're all there under the lake.

At each one that you come to the dragon slows down and angles her head to look at you with one of her magnificent aquamarine eyes.

You know she's asking for permission.

As you acquiesce,

Give your permission through a nod,

A blink or a squeeze of your hands on the back of her head.

She uses her exhalation to breathe out her magical fire,

Sending your past item by item into ashes which are carried off by the water current.

You keep moving around and through the lake.

Once all these items of the past,

All these past worries are dealt with,

You begin to notice that you're now moving past numerous future things that you're also worried about.

Things to do with friendships or family members,

Finances,

Your job,

Your home,

Your health,

Anything and everything else that you worry about.

Once again at each item that you arrive at,

Your dragon stops,

Waits for your approval and then exhales on each worry.

This time each worry turns into steam,

Little bubbles speeding up to the top of the lake where they evaporate.

So eventually all the past and the future are no longer around for you to worry about and you can immerse yourself in the present.

How do you feel?

You realise that the dragon is slowly beginning to make her way to the surface of the lake.

Lifting off the bottom,

You notice energy flowing through you.

You feel it flowing through your feet,

Your legs,

Your hips and buttocks.

Energy flows through your belly and your chest.

Energy moving from your lower back to your mid back to your upper back.

Energy in your shoulders,

Your arms and your hands.

Energy moving up your neck and throughout your head.

It's almost as if the energy and the lightness of your head are providing you now with a buoyancy and suddenly you're out of the lake.

The dragon has disappeared and you're not sure if it was her energy or your own that carried you back to the surface,

To the here and now,

To this moment.

However you got here,

Notice it,

Notice the present and be in it.

I would encourage you to use the energy of this full moon in your physical world as well and perhaps write down the worries that you do have onto a piece of paper and then burn that piece of paper with that fiery Aries energy and then even or instead if you have access to a lake or a river or a stream or the sea,

You could put the ashes from your burnt paper or just rip the paper up into tiny little bits and let it go in the water using our Pisces watery energy.

So I hope that was useful to you.
