Allow yourself to arrive in a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down,
Body relaxed but connected,
Being supported by whatever you touch down to.
Your awareness moves to the rise and fall of your inhale and exhale.
Notice if there's anywhere that tension lingers,
Where you might be able to soften a bit.
Corners of the eyes,
The brow,
The jaw,
Relaxing where available.
Find spacious and open.
Palms perhaps downward on the knees,
Legs,
Or in a prayer position at your heart.
Begin to cultivate even matched breath,
Linking length of the inhale to the release of the exhale.
In the nose,
You might deeply draw a breath in and out the mouth,
You might release on the exhale.
Breath in,
Breath out.
Inhaling through the nose,
Release and stop and let it go.
Today we meditate on the reiki precepts,
The gokai,
Allowing each one the ability to resonate and to wash over us as we breathe them into every cell,
Pausing in reflection and staying connected in breath.
Just for today,
I will not worry.
Just for today,
I will not anger.
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly.
Just for today,
I will have respect for every living thing.
Just for today,
I will live with gratitude.
Just for today,
