This visualization will guide you on a snorkelling adventure, coming to rest on a beautiful beach. It will invite you to engage all of your senses to fully embody and embrace the experience, bringing with it a sense of peace, tranquility and freedom. This meditation will be spoken in the first person and I invite you to imagine yourself walking along this path. I encourage you to drop into the felt sense of the experience, offering both mind and body a reminder of how these emotions truly feel inside of us. Brain retraining visualizations use guided imagery to help reprogram the brain and can help us to change thought patterns, emotional responses and behaviours. By repeatedly practicing visualizations, we can strengthen neural pathways, reduce stress, and develop a more positive mindset, which can help in the recovery of chronic illness, trauma and anxiety. Welcome.

This is Becky and today I'm going to guide you on a journey snorkelling through the beautiful waters of Fiji.

We will aim to embody the feelings of relaxation,

Peace and freedom as we explore an underwater world.

This practice will be spoken in the first person and I invite you to envision yourself moving along this path.

Try to focus in on the felt sense of the experience in the body.

The practice will begin and end with the sound of a gong.

So take a moment to get comfortable and relax into the support beneath you and get ready for a magical underwater journey.

I've just woken up and I'm lying nestled amongst silky sheets in a huge luxurious bed.

The mattress is so soft beneath me.

I feel like I'm floating on a cloud.

I can hear the gentle whir of the fan above my head.

I slept so well last night.

I feel refreshed,

Energized and really ready for my day.

I suddenly remember where I am on holiday in Fiji and I feel a tickle of excitement in my tummy.

I see a sliver of golden light down the sides of the blinds at the window.

The sun is coming up and I can feel it drawing me outside.

I throw back the sheets and swing my legs out of the bed,

Feeling my feet land on the cool wooden floor.

I pull on my swim clothes and stand,

Stretching my body tall.

I yawn as I reach my fingers to the ceiling,

Rising right up on my tippy toes.

My body feels so strong.

I head to the door and step outside.

Immediately my eyes are filled with golden sunlight.

It feels so warm on my skin,

Like a nourishing hug.

I walk across the wooden deck and sit down on the edge,

Dangling my legs over the side.

Beneath me is a beautiful turquoise blue ocean.

It's crystal clear and I can see right to the sand at the bottom.

I watch as the morning sunlight dances across the water,

A myriad of colours reflecting off its surface.

And I just sit a while and admire this breathtaking view in front of me.

I listen to the sound of water as waves gently roll beneath me.

It's so soothing.

I imagine it like my breath slowly moving in and out.

In the distance I can see a small island covered with lush green jungle.

It's circled by bright white sand and a ring of turquoise water gleaming in the sunshine.

I feel a calm energy flowing through my body.

Peace and tranquillity flooding my system.

I feel grounded and present.

My body completely relaxed.

I tilt my head to the sky for a moment,

Closing my eyes.

I feel the sun's rays warming my skin and I smile.

It feels so good.

I look down into the ocean below me.

It looks so inviting.

So I pull on my pair of flippers and a snorkel and I drop down off the edge of the jetty and plop into the water.

It's warm like a bath and instantly comforting.

I turn onto my tummy and start to swim.

I kick my legs gently and glide through the water,

Feeling it silky against my skin.

It feels so good to move.

I feel an aliveness surge through me as energy floods my system.

I feel strong and powerful like I'm capable of anything.

I feel the warmth of the sun shining on my back as I swim and I head out towards the dark patch of coral reef in the distance.

It's so quiet and serene under the water.

Just the gentle blip,

Blip,

Blip of bubbles.

As I approach the reef I see a huge array of coral and sea life.

A whole other world opening up before my eyes.

There's pink coral,

Brown,

Green,

Blue.

One is shaped like a shield,

Tall and wide.

Others are soft,

Waving gently in the current of the water.

I swim along slowly,

My eyes wide with wonder.

There are so many different fish.

I come across some black and white striped fish with yellow fins that have such big lips they make me giggle.

I glide silently over a giant puffer fish with black and white spotted scales that's just resting on the bottom beneath me.

I feel completely present as I take it all in.

My eyes slowly roaming over my new surroundings,

Absorbing all the beauty.

I love how it feels to explore somewhere new.

There's a mystery,

An excitement to it and I feel joy bubbling through my body.

As I continue to swim a shoal of tiny pink iridescent fish dart by me and I hear the whoosh through the water.

I come upon a mound of soft corals hidden amongst the rocks and I spot two tiny clownfish hiding.

Their orange and white stripes are so vibrant and it makes me smile.

I turn onto my back and float.

I surrender my body,

Letting tension melt away from my muscles and letting the water hold me.

It laps gently at my ears,

The sun warming my face and my chest.

After a while,

I swim towards the beach,

Gliding up onto the sand with the gentle waves.

I climb to my feet,

Letting the water drip from my body.

I pull off my flippers and snorkel and bury my feet into the warm sand.

I feel it stick to my wet skin in between my toes.

It feels so nourishing.

I find a place to sit and lean back on my hands,

Letting the sun's rays dry my body.

I taste the salt on my lips and a smile breaks slowly across my face.

I feel so light,

Airy and open inside.

I feel the earth's energy flowing into my body through my feet and my hands,

Filling every cell inside of me with energy and life.

I sit and watch as the waves break gently onto the shore.

Birds sing in the trees.

It's utter bliss.

And I imagine the golden colour of sunshine filling up my body,

Shining through the top of my head,

Filtering down into my arms and my hands.

I feel warmth spill down into my torso,

Into my pelvis and my legs,

And all the way down into my toes.

And I think to myself,

This is going to be a really good day.

Thank you so much for practising with me.

I hope it's brought peace and warmth to your day.

Drop a comment below and let me know how it made you feel.

I hope you have a beautiful day.

Bye.
