Hey,

Insight Timer families!

At best day yet,

We call this a power listen,

Which means it is a short guided meditation for kids and families packed with calming words and powerful affirmations that you can listen to over and over anytime you need a little extra calm.

And we have Annie with us to help.

Hi!

Annie,

Could you put some calming music on?

Sure!

Let's start with deep belly breathing.

Deep belly breathing is an easy way to calm down your body.

And the more you practice it,

The easier it is to do when you start to get nervous or worried or scared.

Have you ever seen one of those bubble things at a science museum where you can put your whole body in a bubble?

Today we are going to imagine that,

Except instead of bubble mix,

This bubble will surround you with love and safety and nobody else can see it but you.

So you start by taking a deep breath in.

And as you breathe out,

Your bubble grows,

Starting at your toes.

Breathe in to power up.

And breathe out,

The bubble grows up your legs.

Breathe in more strength,

More power.

Breathe out,

The bubble has lifted over your tummy.

Breathe in,

Fill up your belly as much as you can.

And as you breathe out,

The bubble lifts over your chest.

One more deep breath,

Bigger than before.

And when you exhale,

The bubble seals over your head.

Don't worry,

You can breathe perfectly fine inside this bubble.

In fact,

You can breathe even more fully than before because this is a bubble of love and safety surrounding your whole body.

Can you feel it around you?

What does your bubble look like?

Mine sparkles all around me.

Mine glows in the dark.

Mine's bubble looks and feels a little different.

Kids at home,

As I talk,

Take a moment to feel and imagine your bubble of power and love and safety that's wrapped around you right now.

We're going to do three short affirmations today.

The words I'm about to tell you are powerful and if you combine them with deep belly breaths,

They can calm you down any time you start to feel nervous,

Scared,

Or worried.

The more you practice them,

The better they will work.

First I'll tell you the affirmations and next you will tell them to me.

Ready?

Let's get started.

You are calm.

You are surrounded by love and protection.

Good things are coming your way.

Now you'll repeat after me in whichever way you feel comfortable.

You can say the words silently,

Whisper them,

Or say them out loud.

If you want,

You can even yell them.

The words will sink in any way you say them.

Ready?

Let's repeat.

I am calm.

I am surrounded by love and protection.

I am surrounded by love and protection.

Good things are coming my way.

Good things are coming my way.

Good things are coming your way.

I just know it.

They're coming.

And when they do,

Don't forget to thank them.

Thank you,

Good things.

You can use these tools any time you start to get nervous,

Worried,

Or scared.

Remember one,

Take deep belly breaths.

Two,

Imagine a bubble of love and safety all around you.

And three,

Remember these power words.

I am safe.

I am calm.

I am surrounded by love and protection.

And don't forget.

These tools will definitely help you have an amazing day.
