Welcome to your meditation practice for sparking creativity.
This isn't about forcing something to happen.
Or trying to become creative.
That kind of forcing can cause a lot of pressure.
This is an activation meditation for aligning with the creative part of ourselves that may have been buried for a while,
Under the lists of to-dos and constant responsibilities It's the reintroduction to the part of yourself that flourishes when there's more free-flowing energy.
And space.
This is a meditation that creates the conditions for creativity to naturally rise up when it's ready to.
So maybe take a moment to wiggle your body or shake the extra pressures off.
Allow a little bit of movement to release anything that you're carrying that feels heavy.
Before settling into stillness.
There's no right or wrong way to feel creative.
But there's no one perfect way for it to arise.
You are simply here to create more freedom for yourself.
And freedom is where the creative spark will ignite from.
When the movement and shaking off of the pressures feels complete to you.
Maybe you close your eyes.
And let's take a few deep breaths together,
Creating space.
Visualize a gentle light in your chest.
This light gently grows with every inhale.
And relaxes with every exhale.
As you continue to breathe deeply.
Imagine setting down all of the logical things that take up most of your day.
Setting down the need to be productive.
The pressures to have a plan or a roadmap.
Set down the need to know the answers.
Or to have a perfect timeline of when things will happen.
When you stop demanding that your mind produce something.
You'll give it room to surprise you.
Set down whatever feels like work right now.
Hmm.
Sigh out everything you're setting down.
And continue to make some more space.
For freedom.
Begin to imagine your energy.
Your light within.
Traveling down from your overthinking mind.
And into your senses.
Lighting up your eyes.
Your ears.
.
.
Your sense of smell and taste.
Your hands.
And all the feelings within your body.
Start to notice something that you can hear right now.
Notice any light that you can see,
Even if your eyelids are closed.
Notice if you're able to smell or taste anything in this moment.
Is anything rising up?
A memory.
I fought.
Of feeling.
Notice a place in your body where you feel warmth.
And imagine your light in that space.
Keep breathing more spacious freedom into your body.
Into the place where you feel warmth within.
Now imagine walking into a place that is all for you.
A place that feels alive with the energy that resonates with you.
A place that feels comfortable and inspiring.
A place that feels like freedom.
This place is completely for you.
It might be a room.
It might be outside in a space in nature.
Somewhere familiar.
Or completely made up in your imagination.
What do you see in this place?
Is it bright or dim?
Warm or cool.
Are there any sounds?
Or feelings.
Is there something waiting for you here?
What catches your attention?
Just notice anything that rises up in your awareness.
This place represents your creative mind.
And it's a place of freedom where you can go to anytime to dream.
To feel.
To free your mind from doing things the way you were taught.
So that you can have space to feel fully you.
Imagine gentle sparkles of light slowly dancing in this space.
Like fireflies on a warm summer night.
Start to breathe deeper as you rest in this beautiful space for yourself.
With gentle sparks of creativity.
Lighting up around you.
There's no need to force anything.
You are just creating more space as you breathe.
More freedom within to experience whatever you'll experience here.
With every inhalation let yourself receive.
And with every exhalation.
Let yourself express your breath into the world.
You take something in.
You let something out.
You receive something new.
You share in your own unique way.
Inhale,
Receive.
Exhale,
Express.
Now gently cup your hands around one of these soft lights floating in front of you.
And just notice the light.
This is the spark of creativity.
And this light is full of potential and possibility.
You don't have to know what the outcomes will be.
It's simply the spark from which creativity will begin to flow.
Gently pull that spark into your heart.
Let it rest there.
Allowing your breath to nourish it.
So that it can ignite when it's ready.
From this creative space in your mind.
You take the spark with you.
Give it space.
Give it time.
Give it the freedom to express what's been waiting to surface when it's ready.
Even when it doesn't feel like it.
Creativity is already moving through you.
It's in the way you arrange something.
It's having a thought that suddenly connects to seemingly unrelated things.
It's in choosing what to wear each day as an expression of yourself.
It's how you tell a story.
It's in coming up with a solution to a problem.
It resides in noticing something beautiful.
Creativity comes in many shapes and forms.
Be open to all the ways you can experience it.
Set up a little bit taller.
And with a spark in your heart.
Begin to open your eyes.
When you feel that creativity is lacking.
Set aside the shoulds and need tos,
The pressures to be creative right this very second.
And breathe into more space.
Creativity comes from within.
But it's often inspired from the world around you too.
When you connect with and awaken your senses,
You start to open the imaginative windows within that lead you to your spontaneous creative sparks.
And when you freely create a place in your mind that's just for you.
A place that feels like freedom.
You will start to take what you've experienced in your life and let it move through you as a new form,
Taking shape in a new way.
That's creativity.
Create more space.
Awaken your senses.
And give yourself the room for creativity to flow.
Thank you for sharing this session with me today.
And as always,
I look forward to practicing with you again soon.
