This meditation is a prayer and invitation to open to gentleness when the days and our world are not gentle with us.
And for the next few minutes we're going to move away from judgment into gentleness so you can tap into the well of unconditional love and wisdom within that is here for you right now.
I invite you now to take a comfortable posture sitting or laying down.
Begin by noticing your breath.
Notice how it's breathing you.
You don't have to try.
This is your body's way of taking care of you,
Loving you.
If you can,
Notice your body.
See if you can sense gravity grounding you down.
Feel the comforting weight of your bones,
Making contact with the surface beneath you.
Rest here.
As you breathe softly and gently,
Ask yourself if there is any tightness or tension in your body.
Just breathe and notice.
The simple act of observing tension and pain,
Tightness and contraction gently softens us.
And sometimes when we stop and listen to ourselves,
Emotions come forward.
So if you're experiencing feelings moving,
That's okay.
If you need extra care,
I invite you to cross your arms over your chest,
Letting your hands rest gently on your shoulders.
Hold yourself with gentleness.
Breathe softly into your belly for a few breaths.
Notice how you soften a little bit more.
It's okay to let go of any stress or worry just for this moment.
I'm going to ask you to continue to follow the sound of my voice as I bring us into this prayer.
Just let the words drop into your consciousness like pebbles in a still pond,
Rippling out deeper and deeper,
Leading you into the wisdom you hold.
After the prayer is finished,
The music will continue allowing you space to listen to your inner knowing without my voice guiding you.
Allow your inner voice of love to show you how to be gentle with yourself in the ways you need most.
To begin our prayer,
Let's affirm our connection to the highest frequency of love and declare this a protected sacred space.
Some days are not gentle with me or with others.
Show me the path to cope in a healthy way.
And if I curl in or lash out or shut down,
Remind me that I am still a being of light with infinite grace inside and all around me.
Help me to remember that I matter and so do others.
Show me how to be gentle with myself when the days are not gentle with me.
Amen.
