Welcome to today's session of Morning Mindfulness for Creativity.
I've created these brief sessions to help you ease into your day with mindfulness and purpose.
Each moment spent in reflection helps to connect you with your inner resources,
And these resources support your creativity and inspire your actions.
Every day I'll guide you with a thoughtful question and create a space for you to pause,
Reflect and explore the creative possibilities within.
So feel free to get a warm drink,
Open your journal or simply find a quiet spot to sit and reflect as we step into this creative practice together.
Today I invite you to make space for your natural creativity to emerge.
We often look to the external environment to inspire or stimulate our creativity.
We might also use the external world to help us cultivate presence and notice when our attention to the moment strays,
And we're distracted by thought.
So today is a reminder that our creativity flows naturally from within us,
From a space of presence.
One aspect of observational drawing that I personally love is the way that it requires me to be present and observe what is,
Rather than being distracted by the conceptual ideas in my mind,
It forces me to look at what's actually there.
It's clear in the mark making when my presence and attention to what is has wandered.
Cultivating presence helps support our natural creative flow.
How do you cultivate presence in your creative practice?
Take a few moments now to begin to deepen your breath and ask yourself the question,
How can I cultivate a sense of presence today?
Thank you for taking this moment of mindfulness with me today.
I hope this session has left you feeling open,
Inspired and ready to embrace the creativity within you.
Remember you carry this energy with you throughout your day.
If something resonates or sparks a thought within you from your reflections today,
Take time to explore it further,
Whether through journaling or quiet reflection.
I hope you can join me again tomorrow as we continue this journey together.
Until then,
I'm Caroline Inkle,
Artist and coach,
Wishing you a wonderful day.
