Hello my friends,
This is Suzanne from Centered Living and I'm so glad we're here together.
Let's take a moment and get our inner world a little bit more centered and quiet so we can build tools to help us navigate change and uncertainty.
Take a comfortable seat,
Perhaps sitting in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the ground or seated on the floor with a cushion or blanket underneath you for support.
Allow your eyes to close or softly gaze at the floor in front of you.
Feel the weight of your thigh bones and pelvis anchoring you now.
Allow the surface beneath you and the earth rise up and hold you and meet you just where you are.
From this anchored base,
Allow your spine to lengthen and feel the crown of your head lightly reaching for the space above you.
Allow your shoulders now to gently drop down and feel the space behind you,
Leaning gently back as if hands of a good friend were behind you,
Offering you support.
And as you rest back,
Allow then the front of your body to open and become receptive,
Heart lifting,
Tender,
Soft.
Often when we are faced with uncertainty or the winds of change seem to continually blow us off course,
We harden as a response.
Fear,
Worry,
And anxiety close us down as a way to stay safe.
But we are here,
Willing and ready to sit with all that we're feeling and ready to build inner strength and steadiness.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Slowly and sweetly begin to deepen your breath.
Inhaling through your nose,
Feel your breath move towards the back of your throat.
And as you exhale,
Feel the breath move down towards the pelvic floor and the base of your spine.
Inhale the breath as energy or as light moves to the back of your throat.
Exhale breath as energy or light moves down towards the pelvic floor.
Inhale the breath moves in and back.
Exhale breath as energy moves down towards the ground.
Continue this for a moment.
Feeling more and more rooted and anchored with each exhale.
Notice how when you're controlling the breath,
The breath can control your mind.
Your mind is a reflection of your breath in this moment.
As you sit firmly connected to that which feels steady and stable inside of you,
Allow yourself to come back to the softness of your skin and your heart.
The paradox is that most of us crave answers and certainty.
But the only thing that is truly certain is that everything changes,
Moves and shifts.
Even our very bodies are in constant energetic motion,
Cells being created and cells expiring.
Feelings come,
Feelings go.
Breath ebbing and flowing.
We are taught that we need to move through this life with the ability to solve problems and create the future.
So it's actually a huge gift to be able to recognize that the only thing we truly have some control over is how we respond to change.
We can choose,
Even in the face of uncertainty and fear,
To show up with grace,
Steadiness and resilience.
You have all that you need to face uncertainty.
Take a deep breath in and a full breath out.
You've got this my friends.
Find your center in the eye of the storm.
Bring your hands now together in front of your heart just for a moment.
Palms touching,
Eyes still closed or softly gazing.
And then bow your head towards your hands.
Bow your head towards your own heart and trust that you can do this.
And thank yourself for showing up today.
Namaste.
