Namaste,
This is Debbie.
I will be guiding you in this short yoga nidra practice.
Although the practice focuses on the 61 point body scan,
Pulling in healing energy from the full moon.
It may be practiced anytime whenever you are feeling the need for relaxation or a short revitalization in the afternoon or anytime you need to take a break.
Prepare your yoga nidra nest,
Your cocoon,
So that you can settle down and feel completely relaxed.
Yoga nidra is traditionally done in a corpse or shavasana pose lying down on the ground.
However,
The most important thing is your comfort while you settle in for a few moments.
That may mean a reclined position in a chair or even your bed if you plan on falling asleep after this practice.
You may want a blanket or pillow for the head,
A pillow or bolster under your knees,
Perhaps a blanket to cover you and even an eye pillow so you can relax completely.
Maybe you will want to set a bhavana,
A positive energy or quality cultivation for this full moon.
And now is the time to bring in your sankalpa.
Sankalpa is a positive affirmation,
A deep set goal or desire you wish for your life's purpose.
Stated in the present tense as though it is already happening.
If you don't have your own sankalpa,
You might want to choose one of the following.
I am whole and complete just as I am.
I am physically fit and healing.
Now close your eyes and settle down into your cozy cocoon.
Is there anything you can do to make yourself even a little bit more comfortable?
Notice the sounds around you,
Both further out and close in.
You might even listen to the sound of your own breath,
Focusing on the breath,
The natural breath.
Full breath in,
Long exhale out,
Continuing at your own pace.
As we move into the rotation of consciousness,
The 61 point scan,
Focus your attention on each point as I state it.
You might even imagine the full moon with all its energies shining brightly on the body part as I state it.
Just imagine the healing light and energy.
Bring your awareness to the right hand,
The right hand thumb.
Imagine the orb of the full moon shining brightly in your right hand thumb.
Now move to the first finger,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Little finger,
Palm of the hand,
Top of the hand,
Wrist,

The middle of the forehead,
The mind's eye.
The full moon energies heighten our intuition and awareness.
