New beginnings.
They give us an opportunity to mentally tap into a fresh start.
There is something so sacred and special about the start of something new.
And when you really think about it,
Each day is a new beginning in a way.
A fresh start to choose differently.
To be the version of you who is not only aware that they've shifted and that they've changed,
But a version of you who is ready to release the past so that there is room for the soul nourishing goodness of what is still to come.
A new beginning doesn't give us a true fresh start unless we're intentional about it.
A clear understanding of what exactly it is you're leaving behind.
Of what it is you have completed.
Leaving the past in the past requires a rewiring of the brain and breaking certain patterns that have become habitual in your life.
If this meditation has found its way to you today,
You are entering into a new beginning and you are ready.
There are old patterns and habits that have served you well,
But they no longer serve you now and it's time to release them.
Let's begin.
Find yourself now in a restful position with your eyes gently closed.
In this moment,
I'd like to invite you to take your hands and place one over your heart and one on your belly.
And just take a moment to pause to feel the warmth of your own touch.
Feeling the gentle pressure of your hands resting.
Feeling the support your body provides for your hands.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and holding it at the top before you allow the breath to release.
And as you're breathing in,
Feel your lungs stretching and expanding.
With your inward breath,
Feel into the pause.
Feeling how everything just stops.
Feeling how your heart rate has slowed.
Sinking a little deeper still with each breath cycle.
There are things in your life right now that you're ready to put behind you.
Things you once called in that you are ready to complete.
We are habitual beings.
We have to bring awareness to something first so we can choose to pull ourselves out to bring forth change and go somewhere new so that we may become intentional and not habitual.
In your mind,
I want you to think of a pattern or a habit.
Something that you're ready to be released from.
Maybe you have a habit of bracing yourself each time you see a certain person's name across the screen.
Or a pattern of blaming yourself every time something goes wrong.
Or maybe you have a habit of self-doubt and feeling like you're never good enough.
As you take a moment to scan to come up with something that you have outgrown.
Something that when it comes up for you,
For a brief moment,
You find yourself questioning if that's really true for you.
A habit that you are ready to let go of.
Feel how your body is reacting underneath your resting hands.
Feeling any sudden tightness in your chest.
Noticing if your heart rate has sped up or if it has slowed down.
And feeling into the rhythm of your breath.
Feeling if your breath cycles are now quick and shallow.
Now,
As we enter into the releasing process,
I remind you that you have the power within to break free from any habit that is no longer serving you.
You are the ultimate creator of how your life looks and feels.
And as proof of this,
I want you to feel into the intentional and sacred space you have created for yourself right now.
You have created all of this for you.
I invite you to go back into scanning over your life and finding that one thing.
That thing that you're ready to release today.
What no longer feels true for you.
What are you ready to leave behind?
What are you ready to let go of?
In this moment,
I invite you to take whatever it is you're ready to release and hold that feeling deep in your chest as you hold yourself.
Allow yourself to feel grateful for how this habit has protected you in the past.
Appreciation for how it has served you.
How it has kept you safe in a way.
Stay present in this feeling as you pause.
As you feel the warm golden energy of gratitude washing over you.
Feeling your body relax into the comfort of it.
In your mind,
Imagine what you want to let go of written out on a piece of paper.
And when this feels complete for you,
Set it ablaze and watch it start to burn safely in front of you.
Almost feeling the warmth from the soft flames as they creep into the paper's center.
Seeing small embers entering in the airspace around you.
And as you watch it start to disappear,
Feel how it releases from you.
You are ready to let this go.
You are leaving this behind.
You are complete in this chapter.
These behaviors and patterns no longer serve where you are going.
You are ready to move on now.
In a new way.
You have learned what you needed to learn.
You can leave this behind now.
You are grateful.
You are complete.
You are more powerful than you know.
I'm so proud of you.
