
Meet Your Special Friend
This practice is designed to help both adults and children to connect to a special friend, whether that be a spiritual guide, an animal, a friend, a loved one. The practice guides you through a process so that you can successfully meet a friend every single time you do this exercise.

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?
Make sure you're laying down in a nice comfortable position and everything is just right.
Make sure that you close your eyes for this meditation.
We're going to go on a journey,
A journey where you can meet a very special friend.
First of all,
Start by just taking a nice big deep breath.
See if you can breathe all the way down to your tummy.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Start to allow your breath to relax your body.
So every time you breathe in,
Imagine that you're breathing in a big bubble of relaxation.
You breathe it in all the way down to your tummy.
And then when you breathe out,
Imagine you're breathing out any stress or tension that you might be holding in your body.
So using your breath,
You're starting to relax your body.
Let go of your day.
See if you can start to clear your mind and just focus on your breath.
Breathe and relax.
Just breathe and relax.
And then keeping your eyes closed this whole time,
Starting to use your imagination.
Imagine that you're about to walk down 10 steps.
And every single step that you take,
Your body gets very,
Very sleepy and heavy and very,
Very relaxed.
Like every single step.
Starting at 10,
Imagine in your mind that you can feel the steps underneath your feet.
And you're walking down those steps.

Feeling nice and relaxed.
8,
Allow your body to start to sink deeper into the bed.
7,
Take a nice big deep breath.
6,
Notice your legs getting heavier,
Your body getting heavier.
5,
Your head feels really,
Really comfortable and heavy in your pillow.
4,
Focus on all the tiny little muscles in your face,
Softening and relaxing.
3,
Your feet and your toes and your ankles feel super,
Super sleepy.
2,
Your whole body is very,
Very relaxed.
1,
You find yourself standing at the bottom of the 10 steps,
Using your mind and your imagination.
Imagine that there in front of you is this big wide open space.
And it's all black,
Like a big giant blackboard.
Look down to the right side of your body.
Look down on the floor,
You'll find that there's a bowl with chalk in it.
All different colored chalks.
You're going to bend down and pick a chalk that's your favorite color.
Pick it up and hold it in the hand that you're normally writing.
And then you're going to stare at that space,
That big wide blackboard there in front of you.
And we're going to do some drawing.
Starting down at the bottom left corner,
You're going to draw a line up to the top left corner of that space.
And then from the top left corner,
You're going to draw a line all the way across to the right top corner.
And then draw a line from the right top corner down to the bottom right corner.
And then you're going to draw a line all the way across the bottom back to the bottom left corner.
So you either have a square or a rectangle drawn there on your blackboard right in front of your vision.
Now imagine this to be like a picture frame.
And as you stare into the picture,
I want you to notice that all the way to the back,
Far,
Far away in the distance,
You can see something moving.
It's very,
Very,
Very,
Very tiny.
But you can see it moving as if it's starting to walk towards you.
This is your favorite animal coming towards you right now.
And as it gets closer and closer,
It gets very clear,
Clearer and clearer.
Moving closer and closer and clearer and clearer,
You start to see your favorite animal very,
Very clearly.
Moving closer and closer until it finally sits or stands right there in front of your face in the picture frame.
Just very,
Very close.
You can see it as if it's right there in front of you,
As clear as day.
Start to notice all of the details of your favorite animal.
If it has fur,
Notice the color of its fur and the texture of its fur.
If it has scales,
Notice its scales and the colors.
And then if you can see your animal's face very clearly,
Zone in on its nose,
Its eyes,
What color its eyes,
Does it have eyebrows?
What are its ears like?
Its face?
Maybe has a slight smile.
It can smile at you.
This is your favorite animal.
This is your friend.
Now you're going to start to communicate with your animal telepathically.
That means you don't have to use words.
You just use your mind to tell your animal what to do.
Instruct your animal to turn around in circles.
If your animal has a tail,
Instruct your animal to wag its tail.
If your animal can sit,
Instruct your animal to sit.
To lay down.
Now that you know how to communicate with your animal telepathically,
You can start to ask your animal questions.
Start with a very simple question.
A nice clear question.
Something like what is your name?
And when you ask the question,
Listen internally.
Very very carefully.
Just listen.
And you may hear a name.
You may hear an actual voice or it might sound just like your own voice inside of your mind.
Or you might not hear anything.
Your animal may not want to share a name with you.
But you can ask a very simple question just like that.
What's your name?
Or what would you like me to call you?
Always ask your friend,
Your animal very easy,
Clear,
Simple questions.
If you have a question about a friend or your life or something at school or something that you want to do,
Ask very clearly.
And your animal will be able to tell you the answers.
Your friend will be able to help you with your question.
Sometimes it takes lots and lots of practice and sometimes this is very very easy.
So don't be disheartened.
Just practice,
Practice,
Practice until you get to the point where you can have conversations with your friend.

Thank you Cory. Just lost beautiful boy Ozzie a few weeks ago. He was at least 13. A white mix of Shiba Inu with a curled tail and a chihuahua. More Shiba body. Chihuahua face, big yoda ears. So I got to visit with Ozzie today and I was so grateful to see him, I was moved to tears. That was some grief I needed to move through and Iβm sitting on my back screened in porch with birds chirping in the background. Very peaceful and happy place. Iβll be back. π’πππ₯°

Hi Cory, I loved the power of imagination in the story. Being a person who is very weak in arts, (probably more than two decades ago when I was asked to draw a bird, my art teacher could not recognize that I had drawn a parrot :) I was pretty nervous after imagining the sketch of outer frame , little to realize that this talk was more than having a simple communication with a pet than sketching the same. It was a very unique experience, since we adults at times leave our simplicity and innocence behind in place of ' maturity and knowledge '.

This is lovely π! My animal was Molang Molang is a character from a TV show. She is a rabbit π°. This was a great meditation but as a tip for next time maybe you can do with some more time to listen to music at the end. Thanks ππ»
