We speak with kindness without hesitation to others, but it seems to be something that is incredibly difficult when we turn the lens inward. When was the last time you spoke with kindness to yourself?

Welcome to your session today.

Today's session is for cultivating kindness and speaking kindness to ourselves.

So wherever you are joining me from today,

I invite you to get nice and quiet with yourself.

Set yourself up in an area where you feel safe,

Where you can be both present and relaxed.

Your body position doesn't matter today,

So if you need to lie down,

If you need the support of a wall behind your back,

Or sitting cross-legged on a yoga block is comfortable for you today,

Please listen to what your body needs.

When you feel ready,

I invite you to close the windows of your eyes.

To sink into that quiet.

And to start to consider the level of kindness that you hold yourself with.

Is holding yourself kindness something that requires an incredible amount of effort?

Or is this something that you exercise every single day?

I invite you to bring the image of a mirror into your mind's eye.

To see your reflection there.

If you were to see yourself at an age when you needed kindness,

How old would you be?

What would you look like?

And how would it feel to express kindness to that version of yourself?

The image in the mirror is you and yet not.

And if you could reach through the mirror and hold that person with love and compassion and kindness,

What would their reaction be?

Would there be a softening?

Would there be a moment when they feel so loved and protected that they could let their guard down and grow vulnerable in that moment?

How would it feel to say,

I love you.

You're safe here.

I've got you.

And no one can harm you now.

Take a few moments here and consider what are the words of kindness that you would say to this version of yourself.

I love you.

You are safe here.

I've got you.

No one can harm you now.

I love you.

You are safe here.

I've got you.

No one can harm you now.

I love you.

I love you.

I love you.

Words that we don't often say to ourselves,

But so freely give to those around us.

Now is an opportunity to speak kindness to ourselves and really to speak kindness to our soul.

This isn't a superficial,

You look great today.

The kindness goes deeper than that.

I love you.

You are safe here.

I've got you.

No one can harm you now.

Hands over heart.

Taking a slow,

Gentle,

Intentional breath in and out.

That kindness you give so freely from yourself.

Let's start giving it back to ourselves.

When you feel ready,

Opening the windows of your eyes.

Coming back into the present moment and know that you deserve just as much kindness as you give of yourself.
