Good morning and welcome to the artist morning.
My name is Darius and today our meditation practice is going to be a bit different.
It's going to be an active meditation.
There will be prompts for you to do simple activities that you can do in your seat with your eyes closed.
Today's meditation is one part meditation,
One part visualization.
What's important for our practice today is you don't need to give any of this meaning.
Let your mind know right now.
We don't need to think about it practically,
Logically.
It's just a fun experiment to activate our creativity,
To activate our connection to the universe,
And maybe to remind ourselves that we are always being guided and supported even when we are deeply resistant.
Let's begin our practice by keeping our eyes open.
That's right.
Before we go in,
I want to invite you to open your eyes,
Bring your hands together,
And just start rubbing them together,
Creating a little heat,
A little energy.
Going a little faster,
Feeling the heat.
And now I want you to gently place your hands over top your eyes.
Take an easy breath here.
Take a moment to feel the warmth,
The energy in your own hands over top your face,
Your eyes.
These are magic hands.
These are powerful,
Creative tools.
When you're ready to ask you to bring your hands down and gently place them on your lap,
You can close your eyes now as we go inwards together.
We have activated your magic hands.
Can you feel the energy,
The electricity in your fingertips?
It might be subtle,
But it's there.
I'd like to ask you to open and close your hands five times,
Making little fists,
Creating energy,
Feeling the power inside you within your hands now.
Open and close.
You can do more than five until you've felt that power.
Resting your hands now.
Let's take a deep breath here together.
Breathing in,
Letting it all go.
Can this meditation wrong?
It's impossible.
Back to it at any time.
And each time it will be different.
Any pressure to get it right?
Let that go.
Our bodies to land before we start the visualization.
I just want to slow everything down,
Everything down,
Dropping your shoulder,
Bringing a softness to your forehead,
Your neck,
Your jaw,
Softness to work its way down your back,
Your hips,
Region,
Your thigh,
Ease your shins down to your feet,
Accessing a little bit more joy,
A little bit more ease.
That's what creative minds do.
Sometime full permission to wander,
Feel,
To resist,
And you have full permission to lean all the way into this experience,
All the way in to this experience.
Let's begin our visualization.
I'd like to invite you to close both hands as they rest on your legs.
Now there will be a series of prompts.
You can't get this wrong.
Take a deep breath in,
Creating fists with both hands.
Let it go.
In your right hand,
There is a pen.
It's a magic pen.
You can always access this magic pen.
It's a reminder that whatever comes up here,
You can explore later through your journal.
Open your right hand now.
That is your magic pen.
Closing our right hand.
In your left hand,
There is a delicious chocolate,
The exact flavor,
Exact type,
Exact deliciousness that you love.
Maybe it's not a chocolate,
But it's a treat.
Open your left hand.
See,
Feel,
See,
Feel,
Be with that chocolate,
Be with that treat.
You'll have access to this treat at any point.
This treat is a reminder that this exercise,
This practice is intended to be pleasant and delicious.
Closing our left hand.
Right hand,
There is a color.
Open your right hand and experience that color.
Feel what that color is like in your body.
Think about it.
Don't give it meaning.
Just be with the feeling.
Close your right hand.
In your left hand,
There is a flower.
Open your left hand.
Feel that flower.
Be with that flower.
Don't give it meaning.
Just be with it.
Close your left hand.
There is a book.
Feel the book.
See the book.
See the book.
Close your right hand.
Open your left hand.
There is a song.
Does it feel like to have a song in your left hand?
What does it look like?
All answers.
There is a family member.
Gently open your right hand with the family member.
Feel this family member.
See their face.
Gently,
Lovingly close your right hand.
Left hand,
There is a place.
Any place on planet Earth.
Open your left hand.
Feel this place.
Don't give it meaning.
Just be there.
Feel it.
Hear the sound.
Feel the smell.
Gently closing your left hand.
That if you get stuck,
Always go back to your magic pen.
Delicious treat of getting it right.
Right hand,
There is something,
Someone,
Some place.
Gently open your right hand.
Just feel it with it.
Gently closing our right hand.
There is something,

Some place.
Your future.

There is a feeling to experience more of there.
What is that feeling?
Experience it in your body now.

There is no saying goodbye to feelings for forever.
They always come back.
But when you come back,
Your heaviness,
Your intensity will be significantly lighter.
And right now I am going to blow you off my hand and out of my body and out of my being.

That emotion,
That heaviness off your hand now.
