Make yourself comfortable.
You could be seated or even lying down.
When you're ready,
Close your eyes.
Just notice where you are physically,
Your heart rate.
Just gently check in and count it.
Notice your breathing,
Where it is deep,
Slow,
Rushed,
Shallow.
Just note where it is and let it slow down.
Don't force it.
Just let yourself relax into the moment.
Feel the volume of your body,
The space it takes up.
It's weight or mass.
Feel your muscles and joints even into your bones.
Warm,
Stiff,
Comfortable.
If you can't put words to it,
Just notice the feelings you feel.
Continue to breathe,
Letting your breath slow down and relax,
Maybe even get deeper.
Picture yourself on the banks of a river,
On a sunny,
Comfortable,
Sweet day.
Seated or lying down,
Looking up.
Noticing the radiance of the expanse of the sky.
Imagine the gleam of the light,
Particular and also diffuse.
This glimmering,
Shining,
Almost blinding.
Consider all the celestial bodies,
Sun,
Clouds,
The moon and planets and stars that are obscure in the daylight,
But still there in the firmament.
Let your spirit drift upwards,
Extending towards the heavens.
Feel yourself dancing amid the lights that scintillate in the sky,
Floating and dancing.
Breathing slowly,
Steadily,
Steadying yourself and your pulse.
Imagine yourself as you have lifted past the riverbank,
Like you,
Amid the dancing of the lights in the sky.
Imagine lights turning as they do in a time-lapse photograph,
Swirling around you.
And circling in that continuity that is all life,
And you are amid it.
You are rising,
And dancing,
And floating in the lights of the heavens,
Safely,
Ecstatically,
Continuing to breathe,
And be present to this spectacular moment.
Let the image resolve itself,
And find yourself gently returning to the riverbank where you began.
When you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
Blessings.
