Welcome to this guided meditation.

This is the meditation that helps when losing someone close to you,

Like a loved one or a pet.

Pets can feel closer to us than people.

We come into our center first.

So put your hands on the heart and just breathe,

Breathe in and out of the heart.

Put fresh energy into the heart,

Enjoying fresh energy coming into the heart and coming out of the heart.

Staying present with your heartbeat.

Staying present with the warmth in your heart and just giving yourself time to sit there and breathe.

Staying with your experience first.

Staying with the breath.

Understanding that so much is part of the journey of your heart.

Some of the things that are part of the journey of our heart we choose.

Some others we do not.

And yet they are all part of the journey of our heart.

They all belong.

There is nothing wrong with any experience you've ever had.

Every experience is complete and is just the way it needs to be.

Saying thank you.

Thank you for the time I had with this wonderful pet.

Thank you for this friend.

Thank you for this love I got to experience in my life.

Imagine your pet and say,

Thank you for being in my life.

You brought me joy.

You brought me joy.

You opened up my heart.

I appreciate you just the way you are.

I am grateful you were alive and that I was able to share this life with you.

I send you every blessing from my heart.

Whatever journey you're on now,

I send you every blessing.

Thank you.

There was space in my heart for you before,

And there will always be space in my heart for you.

And acknowledging that what exists,

Exists for all time.

If time doesn't exist,

We all exist eternally.

Every relationship in that sense is forever.

So setting the intention to stay in loving relation,

To stay connected in a loving way,

And also set the intention to let go,

To let go completely.

Our paths cross for some time,

And then they don't,

And then sometimes they do again.

But it is out of our hands.

It is out of our hands,

And it is in the realm of a higher wisdom.

So letting go,

Finding that freedom.

Love comes to us in many forms,

And love keeps coming in many forms,

And we can be grateful for every love and friendship and close exchange and intimacy we experience.

Ending by saying,

I am grateful for everything that opens my heart.

I am grateful for this love,

And I am open to new love.

And with that,

Take a deep breath in.

Take a deep breath out through the mouth.

And when you feel ready,

Coming back and opening your eyes gently.
