You Welcome to this guided meditation on grounding and connecting with Mountain Spirit.
Find a comfortable position for this meditation.
Maintain a comfortable straight back,
Whether you're seated or lying down.
And when ready,
Gently close the eyes and mouth.
Everything you do right now ripples outward and affects everyone.
Your posture can shine your heart or transmit anxiety.
Your breath can radiate love or muddy the room in depression.
Your glance can awaken joy.
Your words can inspire freedom.
Your every act can open hearts and minds.
This quote by David Deida reminds me that in every moment we have a choice.
A choice to allow ourselves to reflect the light.
Or to become a sort of black hole where we trap things and don't allow the flow of energy.
And so in each moment we have a choice.
And with this frame of mind,
With this reality close to our hearts,
We understand and know that in each moment we are reborn and also leaving something behind.
Check in with the body,
Whether you're standing,
Sitting,
Or lying down.
Your breath is relaxed and natural and you're just noticing how the body is in this present moment.
Allow your awareness to gather around the body,
Noticing any physical sensations.
Without trying to change anything,
We're just observing the body.
Now we're going to place one hand on the chest and the other on the belly.
We're going to take a deep breath in.
You want the hand on the belly to rise higher than the one on the chest,
Activating our diaphragmatic breathing.
Notice movement in the belly as you breathe in and out,
Feeling your belly rise a bit more than the chest.
When you breathe in,
Make a mental note of love.
When you breathe out,
Make a mental note of release.
If you get distracted by the inner or external senses,
Gently place your attention back on the breath.
You're coming into a state of relaxation and openness.
You're in a state of being receptive again.
Here,
You can receive the natural benefits of simply being alive and conscious.
Bring to mind a mountain.
This mountain is so big and majestic.
It has a snowy white peak with puffy white clouds,
All being framed within a vibrant blue sky.
You're a bit away from the base,
So you can take it all in with the surrounding area.
It strikes you as a powerful and unwavering mountain.
You continue breathing consciously as you take in this mountain with all of your senses.
How does the mountain look?
How does this mountain feel from a distance?
How does this mountain smell?
How does this mountain sound?
Really put yourself there in front of that mountain.
Feel it.
Sense it.
Can you feel the grounded nature of this mighty mountain?
Can you feel yourself seated here right now as a mountain atop of this earth?
Start with the sensation of your body where it makes direct contact with the floor or cushion or ground.
Feel into the sensation as you continue consciously breathing in and out.
How does this mountain look?
How does this mountain feel from a distance?
How does this mountain smell?
How does this mountain sound?
You are like a mountain.
You sit here in silence like the mountain.
You are very much strong and alive.
With each passing moment you build your legacy while you empty yourself of whatever is not needed.
In,
Love,
Out,
Release.
In,
Love,
Out,
Release.
Life will often test you and try to stir you up.
But you can remember the mountains grace,
Majestic stillness,
And grounded spirit.
Be the mountain.
What positive qualities can you take from the mountain?
How can this inspiration and the spirit of mountain flow through your own life to enhance it and support the life around you?
When a massive storm comes,
The mountain does not move.
The mountain stays in silence.
How does your mountain look?
How does your mountain feel from a distance?
How does your mountain smell?
How does your mountain sound?
Again,
What positive quality can you take from this mountain?
What inspiration can you draw from the spirit of mountain?
Can you feel the mountain spirit entering your life,
Entering your body through this breath?
Securely seated on this earth and allowing the wind to come in,
Out,
And around.
You are the mountain.
You are mountain spirit.
Try to allow a smile to grace your beautiful face.
Be genuine and honest with it.
You may feel like smiling for just being here and taking the time to be present.
You may feel like smiling because it feels good to smile.
It opens our hearts,
Minds,
And the senses when we smile.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in love.
Breathe out release.
Breathe in love.
Breathe out release.
Your awareness is expanding.
The present moment is expanding.
You're receptive to the basic goodness of life.
You're less entangled or caught up with anything.
You're simply being right here,
Right now.
Everything that you perceive is within your ability to be present.
The more your presence expands,
The more comfort you have to greet all that life offers.
To be intensely present is a relaxing and opening sensation,
Not one of constriction or force.
With time and energy,
This practice will improve presence of mind,
Body,
And soul.
There are no ordinary moments.
Every moment is a chance to be extraordinary.
Every moment in your life is a golden opportunity to enjoy being a part of the wonderful and miraculous thing happening all around you that we call life.
In your own time,
Gently open your eyes,
Adjusting and welcoming your awareness to the external world once again.
This is the moment you are now.
This is the moment you are now.
This is the moment you are now.
This is the moment you are now.
This is the moment you are now.
This is the moment you are now.
As you move into the rest of your day or night,
Notice if you can instill any of this open,
Grounded,
And relaxed presence into other moments.
Namaste.
