Start to relax your body and your mind by breathing in deeply,
Inhaling positive energy in and exhaling negative energy out.
Take these breaths at your own pace in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Maybe you're sitting on a chair,
On a couch or lying down on your bed.
Listen to the music as it takes you on a journey.
Maybe your mind is starting to lose grip of your conscious thoughts or maybe not.
Maybe you're ruminating,
Maybe you're stuck thinking about your worries,
Thinking about the things that you have to do and that's okay.
Let them be there.
Don't try to escape from them.
Just continue to take deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
You can imagine that you're in a different building.
You're walking around seeing the different rooms,
Looking at the paintings on the walls and the beautiful decor.
Make this a building of your own imagination.
Don't agonize over the details.
Let yourself be surprised by your imagination.
You walk through different hallways that have different scents and different lighting.
You walk into different rooms.
You feel a little strange.
You might be thinking to yourself,
What is this place?
What am I doing here?
Where is each place leaving me?
Let yourself go as you explore this building.
Maybe there are a lot of terraces and balconies.
Maybe it's a building in a bustling city or maybe it's a wooden building out in nature.
You walk into one of the rooms and you start to feel a little bit lighter because you've trusted in the journey of exploring this building.
You don't feel threatened and you don't feel like you're going to make a wrong turn because after all,
You're just exploring.
You're just seeing what's around you without any expectations or a to-do list that prevents you from looking around.
If you think about it,
This journey is similar to how life works because we don't know where we are going,
But life takes us on a journey.
Sometimes we feel like we need to work hard for things that we want,
But sometimes they show up in ways that we could have never imagined.
Maybe you met someone and that person became a great friend,
A romantic partner,
Or a great colleague.
You met them suddenly and unexpectedly.
You've grown to really appreciate these people and their company.
You didn't have to work really hard to have these friendships or relationships.
They just came to you with ease and grace.
We all have a fear of the unknown or how we can get to a place we want to go,
But with these random meetings,
Is it really all up to us?
Maybe life can be looked at as an adventure where things happen and we're not supposed to know how they do.
This doesn't mean that negative things can't happen,
But that positive things manifest in the weirdest ways.
Maybe there was a career opportunity or a project that came your way and you had no idea it was coming and were surprised it came about.
Maybe you experienced something that you initially didn't want to happen.
Maybe you went to a class you didn't want to go to or went to a new school,
Job,
Or just walked around your town and something great happened.
Maybe you met great people.
Maybe you learned something about yourself.
Maybe someone or something inspired you.
Maybe you saw a film that you initially didn't want to see,
But it turned out to be really engaging and entertaining.
Instead of feeling like we need to consciously strive after things we want,
Maybe we can let those hidden treasures,
Those unexpected moments of joy,
Inspiration,
And love come to us.
We don't have to be afraid of the unknown.
We can even revel in it.
Because you're going to meet more people that you connect with,
That you enjoy and appreciate,
And you're going to see more films and have other positive experiences,
But you're not going to know how they unfold until they've already unfolded.
Even though there is uncertainty in our intellectual understanding of things,
We don't need to feel afraid.
We don't need to feel unstable or unsure.
We just take it as it goes and know that somewhere,
Someplace,
Somehow,
There are wonderful things yet to be discovered and experienced.
And sometimes it's hard to let go and live that way,
But we can do it.
It's an option.
Instead of feeling afraid for the future,
We can appreciate and experience the now,
While letting ourselves feel certain that somewhere,
There are good things on the way.
