Welcome to the short non-sleep deep rest session.
My name is Jamie Tan at Light and Spoon and thank you for joining me as we prepare to let go of the day that came before this moment,
Ready to transition into the next part of our day.
So wherever you are,
Getting as comfortable as you can.
Now let's take a deep inhale through the nose and then a last sip of inhale through the nose and then exhale through the mouth and let's do this together.
So deep inhale through the nose,
Last bit of inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Let's do this two more times.
One last time,
Inhale through the nose,
Through the nose again and exhale through the mouth.
Let it go.
Allowing the body to relax,
Allowing the surface beneath you to hold and support you and notice yourself just sink and surrender just a little bit more.
Now noticing what might be present.
Perhaps the mind might be busy with thoughts and that's okay.
The mind is designed to have thoughts.
You might like to tell the mind to put aside these thoughts for just a little.
You can always come back to them a little later.
Now bringing attention to the body and sensations arising in the body.
Where might you feel a little tense?
Where might you feel a little bit more relaxed and open?
Noticing all of these changing sensations with nothing to fix,
Nothing to change,
Allowing everything to be exactly as it is.
Let's start with an intention today to recharge and rest a little more deeply.
Now bringing attention to the tip of your tongue.
Sensations in the tip of the tongue traveling to the bottom of the tongue and the bottom of your jaw.
Sensations from the jaw traveling all the way through the sides of the cheeks,
Up through the forehead.
Now traveling sensations up through the crown of the head.
Now sensations sliding all the way down the back of the head,
All the way down to the base of the skull,
Down through the neck.
Sensing and feeling across the tops of both shoulders at the same time.
Moving and sensing and feeling your way down both arms at the same time.
Elbows,
Forearms,
Wrists,
Back of the hands,
Palm of the hands,
And all ten fingers at the same time.
Sensations in both hands at the same time.
Now traveling sensation all the way up through the hands and the arms.
Traveling sensation all the way through the tops of both shoulders at the same time.
Down through the neck.
Sensing and feeling your way through the chest,
Through the ribcage,
Sides of your waist,
And down into the pelvis and the hips.
Sensing and feeling your way down both thighs,
Knees,
Shins,
Ankles,
The tops of both feet,
The soles of both feet,
All ten toes,
Both feet at the same time.
It's radiant,
Vibrant sensation.
Once again bringing attention to the crown of the head.
And then traveling sensation from the crown of the head all the way through the body down into the soles of the feet.
Waves of sensation traveling through from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet.
Whole body shimmering,
Radiant,
And alive with sensation.
Deepening into the breath.
Noticing the inhales and the exhales.
Could you deepen your breath?
Inhaling through the belly and exhaling through the belly.
Noticing the sensations present.
Noticing any thoughts or emotions that might also be present.
Everything just as it is.
All of these changing sensations,
Thoughts,
Emotions arising out of an infinite presence that is always here.
This deep peace and being that is always here within you.
Touching back into the intention you set at the start of the session.
Emerging from this practice a little more rested.
Feeling a lot more recharged and taking this feeling with you through the rest of your day.
Whenever you're ready,
Opening the eyes and give yourself a nice big stretch.
Bringing some movement back into the body again and ready to continue your day.
