Another day has come to an end.
Noticing what's present in our bodies,
In our minds,
In our hearts.
Perhaps taking a deeper out-breath.
Letting something go from the busyness of this day.
Beginning to let the difficulties,
The challenges,
The joys settle.
To return to the stillness.
As we rest before bed.
Just feeling the points of contact our body makes with the chair or the bed beneath us.
Touching into that sense of allowing ourselves to rest,
Of being supported.
Taking in the sounds around us.
Noticing any sounds in the room.
Any sounds beyond the room.
Perhaps recognizing the quality of stillness or peace from which these sounds arise and disappear back into.
Whatever happened today,
Difficult or beautiful,
Allowing it to rest.
Rest in your heart's deepest intention.
Perhaps coming back to the core of what we want for our lives.
To be present for each moment.
To hold ourselves and others with kindness.
Allowing that intention to settle deep in our consciousness.
Like a small seed,
Planted.
A seed that will grow as we sleep.
Perhaps blossoming tomorrow in a beautiful flower.
A presence and compassion.
Sleep well.
