How often do you make excuses?
It is such a confronting question and your ego probably answered,
No I don't,
But deep inside you know.
A very popular personal growth activity is to identify and explore the negative beliefs that are holding you back and yes it is a powerful exercise to do but let me ask you this,
What if the negative beliefs about yourself are nothing but excuses you make to justify your behavior?
I'm not worthy,
I'm not good enough,
I don't deserve it,
I'm not likable.
Let's be clear,
If you keep behaving the same way after identifying a negative belief it becomes an excuse.
It's convenient to hide behind them because it seemed like a legit reason to complain and not move forward.
You know when you say oh that's because what happened to me when I was a kid and yes your past is certainly affecting you but don't be a victim of your own thinking.
You don't need to know that you are good enough to take action.
You need to stop using those beliefs as an excuse.
Yes you can have an excuse to be miserable but you will still feel miserable so it's time to own it and take action anyway.
