Sleep Talk Down And Dream Incubation: The Forest Walk
In this recording, Reece will lead you through a sleep talk-down and lucid dream incubation. He’ll guide you through the process of relaxing your mind, preparing yourself for sleep, and then, once the mindspace has been softened, sowing the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night. You’re encouraged to fall asleep during any part of this video, so when you begin to feel tired, just follow the feeling. If it happens during the sleep talk-down phase, that’s great. Happy dreaming!

Hello,
I'm Rhys Jones and welcome to this Sleep Talkdown and Lucid Dream incubation video.
Today,
I'll be guiding you through the process of relaxing your mind,
Preparing yourself for sleep and then,
Once the mind space has been softened,
Sowing the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night.
In this particular video,
The dream theme will be a relaxing walk through a forest.
Please note,
You're free to fall asleep during any part of this video,
So when you begin to feel tired,
Please follow that feeling.
If it happens during the sleep talkdown phase,
That's great.
If it doesn't happen until the lucid dream incubation phase,
That's also fine.
First and foremost,
Prioritize falling to sleep.
Follow my words until you begin to feel drowsy,
At which point,
Let go and allow yourself to gently drift away.
And so,
To begin,
Please settle into a position on the bed that you're comfortable with,
On your belly or on your side.
Personally,
I like to sleep on my back.
Whatever position you feel most comfortable in,
Adopt it now and then make any final adjustments you need.
If you haven't already closed your eyes,
Now's the perfect time to do so.
Close your eyes and let yourself feel gratitude for the environment that you currently find yourself in.
Remind yourself that you're cosy and comfortable,
Safe and secure.
You're cradled by the bed and shielded by the walls of the room.
You're at rest here.
And as you lean into this calm sense of gratitude,
Allow yourself to also lean into the knowledge that the day is over,
That it's time to relax.
This is,
In fact,
Exactly what you're here to do.
To switch off.
To reset.
To put aside any worries that you accumulated during the day.
You are,
Of course,
Allowed to pick these feelings back up again tomorrow if you so desire.
But for now,
You're granting yourself the luxury to set them aside.
It's time for slumber.
To help bring on this feeling of slumber,
You'll now immerse yourself fully into the present moment.
I want you to see what you see behind your closed eyelids.
Feel what you feel in your body.
Observe the thoughts that arise.
And within this awareness,
I want you to bring yourself into stillness and clarity.
The bed is beneath you.
You're breathing.
You're hearing the sound of my voice.
Bring the locus of your consciousness toward these sensations and devote yourself entirely to them.
Nothing else for now exists.
Let your body and your mind relax into the knowledge that,
In this present moment,
You have no other responsibilities.
For the next few hours,
You must simply relax,
Reset,
And rejuvenate.
No other responsibilities exist other than to lie here in stillness,
Soaking in the experience of lying here in stillness.
I'm only here to help you relax.
Yes.
Now,
Begin to softly hone your focus.
From a wide open awareness to a more defined singular awareness.
We will do this today by focusing on the sensation of the breath.
Wherever this sensation is most obvious to you is where you should settle your awareness.
Either in the rising and falling of your abdomen,
Or in the air drawing up and out of your nose,
Or in the subtle sounds that accompany the breath.
Exactly where you land doesn't matter.
Just choose whichever is easiest to follow and follow it.
For now,
This is your entire world.
On your next inhalation,
I want you to completely cover the breath with your awareness.
Softly,
But precisely following the process.
Not controlling it.
Not grading its quality or speed.
Not trying to change it in any way.
But just observing it.
Focusing on the raw sensations of the experience itself.
Without labels or judgement.
Enraptured by its simple splendour.
Captivated.
And as my voice punctuates the silence once more,
Don't be surprised if you find that your mind has wandered into worries and concerns for the upcoming day.
Away from the breath and into thinking.
That's okay.
In fact,
It's to be expected.
Your mind has been left to idly and aimlessly wander from one thought to the next for your entire life.
So changing that habit does not happen instantly.
However,
Now that you've observed your mind wandering,
You can bring it back to the breath.
Do this without judgement.
For judgement is just another type of thinking.
Gently turn back to the rising and falling of your abdomen.
Or the air coming in and out of your nostrils.
Or the subtle sounds that the breath is creating.
Bring yourself back to these sensations and anchor your awareness within them.
Remember,
Your responsibilities for the upcoming day are not currently your concern.
This is not the time for them.
Tomorrow,
If you need to pick them back up,
You may.
But for now,
They should be set aside.
Remind yourself again.
All that exists in this moment is the breath and your awareness of it.
You are now in a supremely relaxed state.
Either sleeping or on the edge of sleeping.
And so we are ready to begin sowing seeds for lucid dreams later on in the night.
By following along with my words and visualizing them as you go,
You'll prime yourself to draw upon these very same images during REM.
There's no need to follow along precisely.
Just continue relaxing and allow my words to wash over you.
Whatever images come,
Come.
And even if you're now asleep,
Know that your subconscious will soak these words in and store them for later.
Let us begin.
You're in a forest,
Calm and relaxed.
Looking up at the canopy above you.
It's vibrant and green and softly bustling with life.
Beautiful butterflies.
Buzzing bees.
A mix of exotic and familiar insects.
They look exquisite and the sight of them sends you further into relaxation.
You're on your own in this forest.
But with the company of these majestic insects,
You feel seen and alive.
This is a wonderful,
Abundant place.
Full of peace and mystery.
And you're keen to explore it.
But for now,
You stand still.
Imbibing the luscious scenery.
You're in a forest,
Calm and relaxed.
Looking up at the canopy above you.
It's vibrant and green and softly bustling with life.
But with the company of these majestic insects,
You feel seen and alive.
This is a wonderful,
Abundant place.
And as you continue to gaze upward at the sea of leaves that make up the forest's canopy,
You now notice small rays of sunshine breaking through.
Piercing the vivid green sheet with glimmers and sparkles.
What a wondrous day,
You think,
As a soft warmness permeates your skin,
Sending you deeper into relaxation still.
Again,
You feel seen and alive.
This time,
Not by the insects,
But by the sun beaming down on you.
It's peaceful here,
Peaceful and mysterious.
And as you finally look away from the canopy and down toward the forest floor,
Your eyes fall onto a path and you feel beckoned to explore it.
So explore it,
You shall.
Music Along the way,
As you put one foot in front of the other,
You feel and hear the gentle crunch of leaves beneath you.
This forest is not only coated with leaves above you,
But also with leaves below you.
And the further along the path you venture,
The more crunchy the leaves become.
Stopping,
You look down and take in their beautiful shapes and colors.
They're like no leaves you've ever seen before.
And the colors are so vivid that they appear to burst with life,
Calling out here.
And once more,
You feel seen and alive.
You look down at the leaves,
And the leaves look back up at you.
There's great warmness in this feeling,
Great calmness and comfort and intrigue.
And the path beckons you forward still,
Deeper into the forest.
And so you continue on,
Leaves crunching beneath your feet.
Music And now you reach the path's summit,
An opening at the top of a hill.
The view is stunning.
The sky is a mixture of deep blue and blazing orange.
Clouds cluster in uniform rows,
Gliding across the horizon,
Underlining the setting sun above it.
The grass sways gently in the wind beneath your feet.
And as you look to the right of you,
You notice a cabin off in the distance,
Overrun by the branches and leaves of the trees that surround it.
And once more you feel beckoned forward.
And once more you heed the call.
Music Upon final approach you notice that it's a beautiful log cabin.
And around it graze a selection of sweet docile animals.
A few adult deer in their fawn,
An owl perched on a tree,
Hooting.
There's even a unicorn here.
Upon seeing this mythical creature,
Lucidity rushes over you.
All of a sudden,
No reality check needed.
You see it and,
Just like that,
You know you're dreaming.
I'm dreaming,
You think.
Unicorns don't exist in my waking life,
So I must be dreaming.
Excited but calm,
You approach the unicorn and take in its wondrous form.
Its beautiful white coat,
Its piercing blue eyes,
Its multicolored tail,
Its long straight horn.
You sense great serenity in this creature.
And as you continue to gaze at it,
The serenity spreads to you too,
Helping you stay within the lucid dream and stabilize it.
I'm dreaming,
You think again,
The vividness of the scene sharpening and the objects within it stabilizing.
Now,
You reach out to feel the unicorn's coat,
Resting your palm on it.
This works to engage your dream senses and brings you yet further into dream stability.
The unicorn leans into your touch and you briefly lock eyes with it,
Exchanging a heartfelt moment of connection and mutual appreciation.
However,
You don't linger on her eyes for long.
Instead,
You keep your eyes moving over her,
Back to her coat,
Her horn,
Her tail.
You remain calm,
But you keep your eyes gently moving to ensure the continued stability of the scene.
How wonderful,
You think one last time.
This is a dream.
Music Music Music Music You have now successfully planted the seeds for a lucid dream later on in the night,
And you have primed yourself to recognize it as such when it occurs.
You are now also in a state of supreme relaxation,
Fully at ease and ready to begin the first phase of sleeping.
And so,
Now,
If you haven't already,
Please let go and drift away.
It's time for sleep.
