Welcome to this chakra balancing meditation.
Chakras are energy centers which run in a continuous line from the base of our spine to the crown of our head.
In yogic and spiritual traditions,
These seven centers are described as spinning wheels or prana or life force energy.
Through this mindfulness practice,
We aim to balance the energy between these different centers.
Creating a greater sense of harmony,
Alignment and well-being.
Before we begin,
A few gentle notes for your practice.
We will be working with color visualizations,
But there is no right or wrong way to experience them.
If you naturally see colors,
Then that's great.
If not,
Simply holding the word in your awareness or sensing its quality brings the exact same benefits.
Throughout our journey,
I will offer formations for each energy centre.
You can repeat these silently in your mind or say them out loud or even adapt the words to feel more authentic to you.
Whatever arises,
Let it be just as it is.
So let's begin this journey together.
I invite you to find a space which is quiet and calming,
A place where you will not be disturbed.
This meditation can be done either sitting or lying down,
Choosing the option which is most comfortable for you in this moment.
This may be different on different days and that is more than okay.
If you are sitting on a chair,
Sit upright,
Yet relaxed.
Feel your feet grounded on the floor beneath you and focus on the parts of your body in contact with the chair.
Build the support and solidity.
Resting your hands lightly in your lap.
If you are lying down,
Begin by feeling where your body is connected with the surface beneath you.
Notice each point along the back of your body.
And feel yourself being held and supported.
Resting your hands gently by your sides.
I invite you to take a moment to focus on your breath.
If this feels comfortable for you.
And with each exhale invite the body to soften and any tension to release from your jaw,
Your forehead.
Shoulders.
Your hands.
Thighs,
Calves.
And feet.
I invite you to bring your attention to the base of your spine,
Your root chakra.
Imagine a red lotus shaped flower filling this energy centre.
With each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this red flower glowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Feel the life force energy of red bringing strength and courage to your healing journey.
Build a deep sense of grounding and support.
As you continue to focus on your root chakra.
Welcome in an affirmation to support this centre.
I begin to feel comfortable in my skin,
Knowing that I am enough.

Now gently letting go of the colour red.
Allow your awareness to rise slightly higher at the body.
I invite you to bring your awareness to just below your navel.
Your sacral chakra.
Imagine an orange lotus-shaped flower filling this energy center.
Each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this orange flower glowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Experience the energising and nourishing energy of orange as it brings a gentle sense of movement and flow to your life.
As you continue to focus on your Sateful Chakra.

Now letting go of the colour orange.
Gently draw your attention up into the abdomen,
Just below the diaphragm.
This is your solar plexus chakra.
Imagine a bright yellow lotus-shaped flower filling this energy center.
With each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this yellow flower glowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Feel your connection to your personal power,
Knowing that positive transformation is fully possible on your healing journey.
As you continue to focus on your solar plexus,
Welcome in an affirmation to support this inner strength.

Experientially releasing the colour yellow and allow your awareness to rise up into the space of your chest.
Bringing your attention to the middle of your chest,
Your heart chakra.

Brighter and stronger.
Feel the sense of inner balance,
Compassion and connection.
Knowing that you are never truly alone on your journey.
As you continue to focus on your heart chakra.

Allow your awareness to move upwards into the centre of your throat.
This is your throat chakra.

With each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this blue flower blowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Experience the calm,
Expressive energy of blue.
Helping you to speak your truth and honour your boundaries.
As you continue to focus on your throat chakra.
You can welcome in an affirmation to support your authentic voice.

Now letting colour blue fade away.
Gently shift your focus higher to the space between and just above your eyebrows.
This is your third eye chakra.
Imagine a deep Indigo.
Midnight blue lotus-shaped flower.
Fitting this energy center.
With each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this midnight blue flower glowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Net with the clarity,
Deep wisdom and intuitive energy of indigo to guide your path.
As you continue to focus on your third eye chakra.
You can welcome in an affirmation to support your inner wisdom.
I see a clear direction emerging for my health and well-being.

Gently releasing the colour indigo.
Finally,
Draw your attention to the very top of your head.
This is your crown chakra.
Imagine a radiant,
Violet-white lotus flower filling this energy centre.
With each inhale and exhale.
Imagine this brilliant white light glowing bigger,
Brighter and stronger.
Explore your connection to the universe around you.
Letting this pure energy guide your life.
As you continue to focus on your crown chakra.
You can welcome in an affirmation of self-compassion and trust.
