Begin by finding a comfortable position in a quiet place where you can sit undisturbed.
Allow your body to relax in a seated posture with your feet flat on the floor or comfortably crossed.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath and let go of the external world for a few moments.
Inhale deeply,
Filling your lungs with air.
And exhale slowly,
Releasing any tension you may feel.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to become more relaxed and present.
Feel the support of the chair or floor beneath you grounding you in this moment.
Visualize roots extending from the soles of your feet deep into the earth.
With every inhale,
Draw up stability and strength from these roots,
Reinforcing your sense of grounding.
With every exhale,
Let go of any fears of inadequacy or feelings of being an imposter.
Imagine a warm,
Glowing light above your head.
This light represents your true essence,
Full of potential and wisdom.
As this light begins to descend,
Let it enter through the top of your head,
Filling every part of your body with warmth and assurance.
Let this light reaffirm your capabilities and achievements.
Reflect on moments of success and recognize them as products of your effort and skill.
Allow yourself to feel proud and deserving of each accomplishment.
As thoughts of doubt or fraudulence arise,
Visualize them as clouds passing in the sky.
Observe them without attachment and let them drift away,
To be replaced by clear skies.
Each time a negative thought dissipates,
Feel yourself becoming lighter and more confident.
Begin to silently repeat affirmations that cultivate self-confidence and a sense of belonging.
With each affirmation,
Feel the words grounding you further into your achievements and worth.
I am competent,
Skilled and knowledgeable.
I have earned my place and my achievements.
I am deserving of my success and every opportunity that comes my way.
I release the need for external validation as I validate myself.
My work and ideas are valuable and worthy.
Now imagine yourself in future scenarios where you might typically feel like an imposter.
See yourself handling these situations with confidence and authority.
Visualize interacting with peers and mentors while feeling completely secure in your abilities and place.
Begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Notice the room around you,
The chair beneath you and the sounds in the environment.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Bringing the feelings of confidence and worthiness with you.
Take a moment to thank yourself for dedicating this time to your growth and well-being.
As you continue with your day,
Carry this newfound confidence and remember you are not an imposter.
