May this short meditation, that was recorded during a summer thunderstorm, help you to de-stress from a hectic day, or to allow you to re-center and ground yourself after an argument, or even to help you drift off into a peaceful slumber. Rain is Mother Nature's way of cleansing the earth, and of cleansing our minds, and allows us to take a step away from our day to just be in the moment.

I welcome you to find a space where you can relax and get comfortable and sit or lie down whichever you prefer.

Close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Let your body sink into the surface beneath it.

S soften your muscles.

Take a nice breath in and exhale all the way out through your mouth.

And one more time,

Inhale and exhale.

Just allow your breath to become natural and unforced.

Listen to the rain.

And as you listen,

Know that it is cleansing you.

Your body,

Your mind,

Your spirit,

Your soul,

All of your being is being cleansed and renewed by this rain.

Any negative or uncomfortable thoughts or experiences that you may have dealt with today,

Let them be washed away.

Mother nature's cleansing tonic.

Feel the deep sense of peace washing over you with this rain.

Calm,

Peace,

Beautiful cleansing rain.

Sometimes,

We interpret different weather as a hindrance or a nuisance.

But it's all perspective.

And when we can take time out because it's raining and maybe we can't do something we wanted to do in the yard or out and about,

Perhaps take a few quiet moments and enjoy this rain.

Cleansing and washing away of any negative aspects of your day thus far.

When you feel ready,

Just gently and slowly wriggle your hands and feet.

And open your eyes.

Take this cleansing and nourishment with you through the rest of your day.

Feel the deep peace surrounding you and within you.
