This is Joanne and here is another cacao ceremony meditation.
Cacao ceremonies are the most beautiful heart opening rituals that use the sacred ceremonial cacao plant to help people release emotional blockages and pain.
In a heartbreak ritual,
Cacao is wonderful to consume while meditating or setting intentions for any healing you are wanting.
Often it is accompanied by soft music or chanting which allows the heart to open and release any grief.
In the ancient Mayan culture,
Cacao was not only a sacred plant but also a powerful tool used for deep spiritual connection.
It was seen as a portal to the divine and this allowed the participants to connect with the universe,
The earth and their inner selves.
Cacao ceremonies were traditionally used to open our heart,
Heal our emotional wounds and bring balance to our spirit.
By consuming cacao in its purest form during a ceremony,
The Mayans believed one could enter a sacred space between the physical and spiritual worlds.
And that this space was a portal,
An opportunity to release emotional blockages and connect to the heart's deepest desires.
In our more modern practice,
Cacao is still revered for its heart opening properties and it helps us to enter a meditative state where we can experience profound healing and emotional release.
So before we begin,
We'll take a moment to honour the four cardinal directions North,
South,
East and West,
Representing balance in Mayan cosmology.
And this will help us to connect to the energy of the earth and the spiritual forces that guide us.
If possible,
You can face each direction as you silently or verbally invite the energy of each to join our ceremony.
So East,
It's the rising sun,
New beginnings and clarity.
South,
Warmth,
Vitality and the energy of transformation.
West,
Reflection,
Introspection and the setting sun.
North,
Wisdom from ancestors,
Guidance and protection.
Now we'll pause before drinking our cacao so that we can focus on our intention that brought us here.
So let the cacao be your guide,
Opening your heart chakra and allowing for deep emotional release.
And we'll say this invocation together to invite the spirit of cacao to help us in our journey and asking for its guidance and helping you align with love and your inner wisdom.
I honour you sacred cacao,
Heart opening medicine of the earth and I call upon your spirit to guide me in this ceremony,
To help me release what no longer serves and to open my heart to love,
Wisdom and healing.
May I be aligned with my highest good and may the ancestral elements bless this sacred space.
Now,
As you prepare to sip your cacao,
Allow yourself to be fully present with this beautiful experience.
Hold your cacao cup with both hands,
Feel its warmth radiating through your fingers and when you are ready,
Take a small mindful sip.
Allowing the rich,
Earthy flavour to fill your senses and close your eyes and let the journey begin.
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling the air fill your lungs,
Expand your belly and slowly exhale through your mouth,
Releasing any tension or heaviness you may be carrying.
And with each breath,
Feel yourself becoming more present in this moment.
Breathe in deeply and fully and exhale letting go.
Now bring your attention to the base of your spine and visualise roots growing from your body extending deep down into the earth.
Notice how strong and steady these roots are anchoring you firmly to the ground and feel the earth's energy rise up through these roots offering you stability,
Nourishment and a sense of belonging.
You are grounded,
Supported and safe.
Now shift your focus to your heart centre and tune in to its gentle rhythm and imagine a warm golden light starting to glow in this space.
With each of your inhales the light grows brighter and with each of your exhales it radiates outward,
Filling your chest,
Your body and the space around you.
Take another sip of your cacao and allowing its essence to flow into your heart,
Feel its warmth and energy merge with your own,
Softening your walls,
Any walls you may have built,
And take notice of a sense of openness and connection growing within you.
This is your heart's true nature,
It is a vessel of love,
Compassion and wisdom.
If any emotions,
Thoughts or memories come up,
Just acknowledge them with kindness,
Don't judge or analyse them,
Simply observe and let them flow.
Trust that your intention is aligning with your heart's deepest desires.
And as this golden light in your heart continues to expand,
Imagine it encompassing your entire being.
See yourself as a radiant beam of light who is connected to the earth below and the heavens above.
Feel that balance and harmony within you.
Continue with this process taking mindful sips and if you wish,
It is a nice idea to save the last sip for the earth.
You can sit in meditation for as long as it feels natural to you,
But when you feel it's time to complete this ritual,
Bring to mind the intention you set at the beginning of this ceremony.
Say it silently to yourself or aloud if you feel,
Or you might like to journal whichever way you feel called to do.
Allow this intention to take form in your mind's eye,
As if planting a seed in rich,
Fertile soil.
You can picture this seed absorbing the light from your heart,
Growing stronger and more vibrant with each breath.
And now we'll turn our heart to the centre,
To the cacao spirit,
Our sacred presence within the cacao.
Thank it for its guidance,
For opening your heart and for the healing and connection it has brought you during this ceremony.
Allow yourself to feel the warmth of its presence and the gifts it has shared.
Silently speak these words and make them your own to the cacao spirit.
Thank you for your guidance and for opening my heart.
I truly honour the connection and healing you've brought to this sacred space.
And to the Mayans and ancestors,
I honour the wisdom of those who have come before me.
Thank you for walking this path and for the traditions you have passed down.
And now to the universe,
Thank you for the interconnectedness of all things and for the presence of this moment.
I trust in the balance and flow of life.
And when you have finished your cacao,
You can also spend time on self-reflection.
Sit quietly and reflect on this experience.
And when ready,
You could write about any feelings and insights that come up in your journal.
You could ask yourself,
What did I feel in my heart during this ceremony?
And what messages or impressions came to me?
How can I honour the energy of this experience in my daily life?
