Welcome to this morning meditation.

I'm Jody and I'll be your guide today.

Take a few moments now to make yourself comfortable.

Find a position which feels good to you today.

And gently settle in.

Allow your focus to soften.

Until,

If it feels comfortable to do so,

You allow your eyes to gently close.

Now bring your attention to your body.

Notice where your body is in space.

Notice any points of contact.

Gently scan from your head down to your toes.

Just noticing if you're holding any tension.

Breathing into it.

And releasing it.

Notice where your body connects you to your seat and to the floor.

Feel that connection extending to the earth.

To the ground beneath you.

Now I invite you to take a couple of deep breaths.

In your own time,

Drawing a deep inhale in through the nose,

Down through the chest and into the belly.

And sighing it out through the mouth.

Deep inhale in through the nose,

Down through the chest and into the belly.

Then sighing it out through the mouth.

And as you exhale,

Notice any tension,

Any worries,

Any thoughts of the future or thoughts of the past.

Drifting out on the breath.

Evaporating as you connect to this moment.

Knowing there's no way you need to be.

Knowing there's nothing you need to do.

Allowing your breath to return to its normal rhythm.

Rest for a moment.

Noticing your body filling and softening with each breath you take.

And if your attention drifts,

Just notice.

And without judgement,

Gently guide it back to the breath.

Knowing there's nothing you need to do.

Knowing this is part of the practice.

Knowing this is the practice.

Now I invite you to bring to mind a daisy.

It's dawn and the flowers petals are closed.

A protective blush-tipped steeple encircling the intricate golden spiral inside.

And as the sun streaks the sky,

Orange,

Purple,

Pink.

Notice the daisy's stem angling its heart towards the light,

Basking in the warmth,

The energy.

Notice the petal slowly parting,

Stretching,

Cupping the sunlight.

Pure.

White.

Delicately curved,

A jostle for space around the glowing centre.

Radiating joy,

Light,

Ease,

Presence.

And as the sun tracks across the sky,

Notice how the daisy too gently follows.

No matter if the sky is clear or cloudy,

Tracking the sun,

Opening up to its light,

Its warmth,

Its energy.

And as you prepare to step into your day,

Feel that same warm energising you,

Uplifting you,

Radiating from you.

Feel yourself turning towards the sun.

Noticing the moments,

The people,

The experiences which nourish you,

Which inspire you.

Noticing the joy,

The love around you.

Take a moment to bask in that same glow,

To draw it inside you,

To nurture it,

To radiate it back out into the world.

And as we draw to the end of this morning meditation,

I invite you to rest in this moment,

To savour it,

To feel the joy,

The energy,

The possibility this new day holds.

Place your attention lightly on your breath and just notice.

Gently starting to bring your attention back to your body.

Noticing any points of contact,

Becoming aware of your body in space.

Maybe invite a little movement,

Maybe to your fingers,

To your toes.

Maybe stretching a little as you bring your attention back to what you can hear.

Just noticing without judgement,

Without engagement.

And when you're ready,

Slowly bringing your attention back into the room and opening your eyes.
