I got to tell you, I woke up this morning, I woke up earlier than usual with a big grin on my face. It was an inner excitement and happiness and lightness because of today's guest. Oh my goodness, I'm so excited. I love, Love, Love Ainsley McLeod. I read his book, The Instruction, A few years back and it was eye-opening, Soul-opening, Heart-opening, And you are going to get to meet Ainsley today. I'm so excited. I'm going to be tuning into the questions you might have. I already have many, Many to ask him. He's been so gracious to give time. So let me share with you who Ainsley McLeod is in case you're tuning in and you're not sure. First of all, Definitely, Definitely get his books. You might even put your hand on your heart because of a feeling that this conversation is going to touch you to very deep soul level. We already spoke a little bit Ainsley beforehand, And I just, I was so excited to get going so others could hear what we were talking about. So thank you so much for being here today. Oh, It's an absolute pleasure. Thank you for having me on the show. I'm just this, You know, I'm like, Okay, I'm like asking myself to get to come in because there's so many questions I have for you. But why don't we start, Maybe we start really at the basics, Which is for those who are like, What is the soul age? Let's talk about past lives. You knowing your psychic medium, I know those are a lot of questions, But maybe we start with some of those building blocks and then we'll talk more. Sure. Yeah. Okay, Perfect. Yeah, Absolutely. What was the first one? Let's, Okay, Let's break it down. Yeah. Yeah, Let's break it down. Soul age, That sort of thing. Yeah, It's great. Well, Some of the topics that I talk about in the instruction, Which was my first book, But the instruction is a method that was given to me by spirit guides that I work with on kind of other plane of existence. And it helps us to really understand who we are and why we're here. There's 10 basic parts to it with different elements within each. And the whole concept of soul ages, We were just chatting about that. It's still, After all the years of doing this work, It's still the part that I go, Wow, How would I ever have understood the world without knowing about soul ages? Because when you look at our diversity or, You know, Why is somebody like a very progressive environmentalist and somebody else wants to raid the Capitol building and carry an assault weapon? Why is there such a variety? And where does it come from? I was saying to you earlier, When I was a kid growing up in Scotland, Watching the news coming out of the South in the early 60s, Civil rights riots and stuff like that, I used to think, What the hell is wrong with these people? Do we need to send some books so they can learn? I wondered, Is it an absence of intellect? The cops beating up protesters and stuff, What are they doing there? And why are they being so cruel and unkind? And then when I finally realized, Working with the spirit world, That it's not to do with your level of education, It's really just the amount of experience your soul has had. The younger the soul, The more fear-based it tends to be. As you get to be an older soul, You've had lives in all parts of the world, You've switched gender over and over. It just teaches you greater acceptance. It doesn't mean that just because you're a really old soul, You've got all the answers. You got more of them than you would have when you were younger. So there's the whole soul age thing that was part of what I got from the spirit world. Our personalities are all chosen before we come here. Chosen on the astral plane before the soul joins the body here on the physical plane. Which is actually quite a lot of fun as a psychic. I love being able to look at people's newborn babies and be able to get a sense of where they're going and who they are. Actually, I did it with my own kids when they were like an hour old. Did a little reading and looking at what they'd chosen. It's been fascinating to see them grow into who they are. It's a really authentic them. Your soul types are based on experiences that you've had in past lives. These are archetypes that combine to give you your unique personality. Just different combinations. That again was something that when I discovered all this, It was like, Oh, Well that makes total sense. My wife uses the term, I'm lightly tethered to the physical plane. When I was younger, It was considered to be a flaw, A fault. I got that all the time. Why can't you be more like so and so or like from a time as tiny, It was like regarded as something wrong to be so often my creative world, The world of thoughts and stuff. Why can't you be more sort of present and all these things. When I finally discovered who I was based on a system, It was like, This is just who I am. Expecting me to be any other way would be like, Well, It ain't going to happen. It's like if you take a rugged outdoorsy hunter type and try to put them in a valley tutu or something, It's going to look a little incongruous. We are who we are and it's all chosen before we come here. What I do, It's almost the first thing that I do in any reading that I do some of these to find out just who exactly are you. I always say who you are is why you're here. If you understand your true personality, It speaks volumes about what it is you're here to do. In my latest book, The Old Souls Guidebook, I actually have a chapter talk about climbing Mount Everest and flip flops. The point being that you wouldn't, You know, If you're climbing Mount Everest, You would probably use climbing gear, But you wouldn't use climbing gear for a day on the beach. So whatever your soul sees coming up or whatever it intends as your life experience, It will choose a suitable personality for that. So it's always the first thing that you go to, Soul, Ancient, Soul type, Figure out who you are when you're here. Question for you. Okay, I'm like, Again, It's so cool. Every time you speak, I'm like, Five questions, Bring it down, Bring it down. I'm making notes. It's all good. I think I even want to rewind for a minute. This is so helpful. You said two things and I'm tuning in. Sometimes I get a like, Oh, Someone wants to know this and I'm hearing, Connecting with the spirit world, How do you do that? And you also mentioned this happens on the astral plane and those two things, I was kind of lit up and I'm like, Oh, Let's come back for a minute. Because I have a feeling there are some listening that are like, What is the astral plane or can you define it or explain it? And then connecting with the spirit world, I know a lot of listeners would love to learn how to do this more. Is this something that you have to be, That anyone can do, How to do that? Not to derail it, But I was like, Oh, I need to, I got to ask him about that. Yeah, Gosh. All right. Where to begin with that? Well, Astral plane, We go to the astral plane, Which is kind of the nearest non-physical dimension to the one we're in. And we go there between lines. We go there to process the life that we just had and to prepare for the one that's coming up. So it's where we go to, At least where the soul goes to, Leaves the body and the conscious mind behind and does whatever it needs to do there. So there are actually two planes or three planes of existence that the spirit will talk about. One is the physical plane, Which we're here right now. Right here, Right. Yeah. The astral plane, Like I say, You go between lines and there's the causal plane, Which is a little further away. I say further away, Where these things exist, I've never really been able to find out. It's just the spirit world will say, There are just really no words. They said, We have to talk in metaphors because things happen just energetically out there. You have to find some language that you'd understand, But it's all happening in this energetic level. So this causal plane is sort of out there somewhere. That's where the spirit guides that I work with reside. They've had all their lives on the physical plane, Being on the astral plane, And they're done. And their purpose is to really, They have the ability to see who you are, Where you're going, Where you've been in all past lives and maybe some glimpse into the future even. And so it's bigger picture stuff, Really. So they're the ones that I learned to tap into when I first started working. My first experience was actually of spirit guides was to connect with my uncle. And I kept hearing from, Psychics kept telling me, Even a couple of times psychics crossed the room to one in a restaurant at Gatwick Airport, Another one in a pub in London, Coming up to say, Hey, My spirit guides tell me you're psychic and you should be doing something with it. Well, I was a total atheist for the longest time, So I was kind of going, I don't know. However, I was fascinated by psychics. I went to my first one to debunk her. Somebody's telling me how great this person is. I'll prove she's not. I think the underlying reason is I really wanted to believe. And I came out, This is why I got white hair. My hair is standing on end. I'm like, Wow, How did she do that? It's like, Whoa, That really kind of opened my eyes. I mean, I'm obstinate, So I continued with my atheism for quite a few years after that. But it was cognitive dissonance, Holding on to two completely different things, Total belief in the psychic world and total disbelief in anything. So I actually kept hearing from psychics that my uncle was wanting to work with me. And on this play, And he was the last person you'd think would be a spirit guide. I remember him in the book. I remember. Uncle John, Yeah. Yeah, I was like, Why do I know Uncle John? You talked about him. And I'm like, That's funny. You wouldn't think, Yeah. Yeah. You know, It's like, As you say, Oh, Your Uncle John, He wants to be, He wants to work with you. And I go, Yeah, Everybody's got an Uncle John, You know, Trying to rationalize it away. And then I had this epiphany. I talk about this all the time because it really, I mean, This just changed everything for me. But I'd moved to the West Coast, The States, Long, Long journey from Scotland. And I took a trip, A little trip to Hawaii and ran into my uncle in a bookstore. Now he'd been dead for 10 years. So it was a little bit of a surprise, You know, Wasn't expecting it. And it was the most amazing thing. It was like, I knew I was in a really altered state and I didn't know why. I remember walking in there. I had a coffee cup in my hand and I'm just kind of walking around and going, I feel really spacey. And I was guided towards a book, Which was the weirdest thing. I just pulled this book out. I didn't even know what section I was in. I open it up and immediately I look at the names of my parents, Two closest friends. I was like, So, You know, And that doesn't happen by random. And then I just turned a corner and there's my uncle. He's about maybe 18 inches away on my right side. He was only visually there. He was about a second, But real. I mean more real than I could ever have conjured up in my mind and even more specific to a particular time in his life. But the message from him was longer and it was all about working together and how much he wanted to do that. So I went back to the mainland and I was working, Not working, I was living in a very quiet place in a houseboat. It was very, Very tranquil. So it was very conducive to this kind of thing because if you want to connect with the spirit world, You don't want to have the TV on. You know what I mean? You want some tranquility. So I certainly had that for one night and just, You know, Okay, Let's see if I can do it. And I was really thrilled to find that I had some ability to connect with the other side. It was very, Very primitive and rudimentary. It's like, It wasn't like I came out as a psychic with a bang, You know, It was like I had to crawl my way up, Sort of, You know, Learning very slowly. And then the spirit guides taught me the instruction. I started using this when I was reading people. And I just developed the connection from there. I always say if you want to work with spirit guides, Really internal and external tranquility is what you're aiming for because it's so hard. And also, This came up, I have this membership program and we were exploring this topic. And you know, People are always, They are curious about how do you work with your spirit guides. And, You know, I was just talking about how we live lives that are so noisy. I mean, I've got stuff going on, People, TV, Radio, Noise and banter and stuff like that, You know. No wonder it is so hard. So I sort of was suggesting is like, You know, If you can create things like ritual, You know, Like a calm, Quiet place, Light a candle. But the other thing that came up in our discussion was somebody had asked me, Well, Can I, If I have a question for my spirit guides, Can I just think it? And every time I've asked that kind of question of the spirit world, I get the same answer. One way they express it is, Which cracked me up as they said, It's hard enough being a spirit guide without having to read minds as well. And so it actually makes it a lot easier if you can verbalize questions and write them down as well. It's like give your spirit guides the best chance. And I get from the spirit world all the time, You know, They've stock phrases. And one is use us. We are here, We're 24-some, You know, We never sleep. So I don't do anything much without calling my spirit guides in. You know, Before talking to you, Bring the spirit guides in. Just have them with me. You know, It's just like, Why not? There's our support team on the other side. And nobody, People say to me, Oh, I don't think my spirit guides are, I don't think my spirit guides are talking to me. Well, They're clamoring to, You know, Those on the other side have more awareness of the potential for connection, I think, Than we have. So what I get is, You know, Often they're the ones, In fact, Somebody will say to me, You know, I don't think my spirit guides are talking to me. And they'll say, We're shouting, We're yelling. But yeah, You know, It's usually that sort of, You know, The problems on the receiving end. Yeah, I think lack of expectations sometimes as well, You know, It's probably not my spirit guides, Probably just my imagination. But, You know, You learn to trust over time when you're working with them. You know, It's, Well, Mostly because things just pan out, You know, As you expected, You know, Things come to pass and, Oh, Yeah, Well, Spirit guides told me about that. So, But it takes a while. I mean, For a lot of us, We are, You know, We get all the training on the left side of the brain at school. Yeah. And I say in my book, You know, That no teacher tells you to go away and work on your intuition, But they give you plenty of extra math or English or whatever. So to keep you sort of more locked in the left side than the right side, Is it where, Find a quiet space, Maybe a regular, A regular time to meet. That sort of thing can all help. Oh, I love that. Find a regular time to meet. Like it's a date kind of. It's a date. Absolutely, Yes. Date with your spirit. I'm like, I'm into that date. I ask questions and write. And it doesn't have to be like a specific time. It could be more vague, Like maybe an hour before bedtime or, You know, 20 minutes after getting up or whatever. So you just have, You know, You're not sort of like worried. You're not looking at your watch and going, Oh my gosh, I'm going to inflate from the guide. They're pretty flexible on the other side. They're like, Whatever, Whatever. It's good to get into a routine. That's a problem, You know, With any of these things. So, You know, Sometimes you get into the routine, They fall off. And six months down the line, You remember you haven't actually spoken to your spirit yet. Totally. Helps to keep it a regular thing. This is so fantastic. I'm like, Whoa, I love the actionable pieces. And, You know, It's interesting easily because I was like, Oh, Do I understand? I grew up in the East Coast, Literally outside of Boston, Next to all those big universities. I was indoctrined in the left brain. I know that it's not just left and right, But in that kind of critical thinking, Intellectualism, I mean, The height of it. And honestly, It's very interesting. I've done a lot of looking at data in my life because there were so many times I had very strong knowings and I did not listen. And it led to some, Luckily I'm here, But there were times, I mean, You know, Health breakdown, All different things. And I started to track that when I didn't listen. And then what I've seen, I'm curious, You know, Intuition and versus spirit guides, Like the more I trust it. And today I always say my life, My business, Everything's powered by intuition and a force greater than me. I mean, I just, The one time I didn't listen, It was a disaster. This is a couple of years ago. I'm like, I'm never doing it. My whole body was like, No, No, No, Do not work with that person. Do not do not. And I said, No, No, No, It's a great person on paper. And it's just so I'm curious, The intuition piece, My feeling, It comes in different ways. But even before we started, We didn't attention. I don't know if this is true, But I felt like whoever is helping me, It felt like almost a party with all of our spirit guides. I felt like they were together. Is that, Am I making that up? No, No, No, You're not making that up. No, That's really how it is. So for something like this, Yeah, Your guides, My guides, Well, They're going to be there, You know, I invited mine in. So they're, You know, Yeah, We're not alone. But you know, That that thing of, You know, Not listening to your intuition, But it really does help when you reflect on on these things. In fact, I did it right about the time I started working with this spirit world was to look back at the times in my life where I paid attention to the gut feeling of whatever it was, And the times when I didn't and regretted it. So a lot for me, A lot of it is like I had a sort of Achilles heel when it came to relationships. And so there's a, You know, Part of it, You know, The the intuition kind of going, Are you sure, Sure about this? But the more sort of, I don't know, Dysfunctional, Physical playing part going, Yeah, Okay, So she's, She's drunk and dancing on the bar, But you know, She's cute. Or something like that, You know, So making some of these. So the intuition is going, Are you really sure about this? Oh, Yeah, Yeah, It'll be fine. So if you can look back, And you can see those times when you really clearly didn't pay attention, It didn't work out, Or the times that you really did, And thank goodness you did. Because it can stave off, Like you're saying a health breakdown or, Or, You know, You know, Continually getting stuck in patterns, Negative patterns that aren't any good for you. Yeah. Anytime you see patterns, Pay attention. And they're usually past life related. They're usually we get stuck in things because of how we've been in other incarnations. Hmm. Can you say a little more? I'm, By the way, I'm like, We will, For those listening, Because I know you start to get into the Soul Age, Soul Type, We will go there. I know it's so funny. I mean, I can, It's not weird. I can hear, I don't know what's going on. But I can hear people like, What about that? What about the archetypes? I know, I'm like, Well, Raises so many questions. Yeah, Like, We will get there. I have, I have all the notes. I'm like, Well, What we will, But I think what you just said to me, I'm like, Whoa, Ding, Ding, Ding. This is a big one. Because we all have patterns. I mean, I don't know anyone who, Well, Maybe super evolved, Maybe Soul Level 10. I don't know. But I would think most of us have some sort of, Like you said, To pay attention to the patterns. Oh, Yeah. They reflect past lives. Can you say more about that? And what to pay attention for? Yeah. And just anything, Because I can feel people are like, Okay, I need to know about this one. Yeah, I'll give you a couple of examples. Okay, So, If you, If you have a past life of enslavement, Or imprisonment, You know, Say you did 25 to life, And you had no control over your destiny or taken off your life plan. In this life, It shows up as what's called a fear of powerlessness. You've been completely disempowered. So the soul will not want to be, Won't want to be controlled by other people. You know, You've been imprisoned or enslaved in a past life. If you've uttered the phrase, Don't tell me what to do more than once. And if it's one thing if somebody asks you, But a very different thing if they tell you, Your soul kind of over reacts in a way because of the past life experience. But one of the problems there is that you can, Sometimes you may resist advice. But the more common thing is that because you were disempowered in a past life, Is if you run into a stressor, And this can often be in a job or a relationship, It's going really badly. But you go into a passive place, Or even a feeling of like, You know, There's just nothing I can do here. I'm stuck. It really is like having this sort of blinders on, You can't quite see the, Can't see the potential or how easy I mean, Sometimes it's just, I will even be saying to a client, Well, Have you thought about divorce? Or have you thought about, Oh, No, I mean, You know, It's like, Oh, Terrible things going on. Have you ever thought about getting out of it, Or getting a new job? And sometimes it really is as simple as that. They're just blocked and seeing the potential because of how they were in a past life. Another one that's really typical is if you've perhaps died alone in a past life, Or maybe you're abandoned by your mother or something like that. This is rejection. The feeling of dying without loved ones or the feeling of going through that life, Kind of unloved. The pattern that people get into there is choosing either geographically or emotionally unavailable partners. So they think they're making progress. And you know, It looks like yes, You know, Open to a relationship, And then they're choosing one. It's not to say that long distance relationships don't work, But they do make a rod for your back, You know, And sometimes it's a way, It could even be somebody with a past life issue or intimacy can choose the life of a person. And it's not just a way of relationships where there's a real block to intimacy, You know, To really getting close. And sometimes it can be just as simple as that person lives in another country and you hardly ever see each other. So you don't really get the chance to develop the intimacy or something like that. Fears of intimacy, They come from usually sexual violence or sexual abuse in a past life. Then the heart chakra can be on a bit of a hair trigger. You know, We often see that if somebody's got a fear of intimacy, If they're in a relationship and they feel suddenly unsafe, They shut down. They're actually super sensitive, But the partner may even see them as being kind of callous or cold. But what they're doing is, In fact, You'll find this with trauma that in past lives, Well, Shows up in the present as well, Is that when you're undergoing something very traumatic, Your soul often try to protect you from the worst of the emotional damage by shutting down the heart chakra or kind of detaching soul from the body. And now you hear about, You know, It's maybe somebody describing a terrible experience like rape and they had an out of body experience. Well, That's what they're describing. Now, In this life, Okay, Let's say you survive. Then eventually you get some therapy or do some work around it or whatever. But let's say in the past life, You were immediately killed. You had no time to work on this stuff. So the heart chakra has been shut down. Then you have to open it up in this life. So that becomes a challenge. There's different ways that souls will do this. You choose different things in your life plan to make sure, But often to make sure that is the focus, That you're learning to open and keep the heart chakra as open as possible. Because again, The pattern or the tendency will be to shut down. Right. This makes so much sense and is so fascinating. I think this is what you're talking about. Just to share really quick, Sometimes I've had this, I value freedom a lot. I'm a very free thinker, Big thinker, Free soul. I don't know, It's not trapped in all situations, But if I feel like I'm box standard, My instinct is like, No, We value freedom. I don't know if that's connected, But something's saying probably because it's- This is 100% connected. My husband knows this. He's like, Wow, I get it. You're like feeling trapped right now. I'm like, Yep. I'm like, I just, I got to get out. I got to just go outside. Again, If you think of having been restrained, Incarcerated and enslaved and all that sort of stuff, Well, You are going to want to have more freedom in this life than the next person. So there's so many intriguing things about that. There's the don't fence me in kind of feeling. There can also be the fear of making decisions that could have long-term consequences that may not- Okay, How do I put it? If your soul worries that it might not be the right decision, It would kind of hold back. When you get that feeling, It might be a job offer and it looks really good on paper, But you're kind of going, I don't know, Can't sort of commit. Well, The soul could be saying, We're very worried that we could be five years down the line and we're trapped. Again, Warwick relationships, These are places that they show up. The fear of being trapped and stuck in it. And especially if there are other fears, Like failure or something, Where then the soul is going to get stressed out because, Oh, Now we've got less time to get things right. That's especially stressful if you're a very old soul. You don't want to keep coming back here. So maybe the feeling like, I got to get things right. I got to make sure I'm not wasting time on the wrong path. Oh my gosh. All right. People, Listeners, You have to write in if you're good. I'm like, You are speaking to my soul. I'm like, Yup. And this was kind of, And again, I married a really, My first marriage, A really good person, Actually. Really lovely person. It just, I think energetically for different reasons. And I knew this. And the feeling when I finally literally woke up was, You've got to get out of this. You can't be in this anymore. And it was, You know, It was challenging. And I know there was listening, Probably everyone's had their own version of this, Their version, But that pattern of, And it's interesting now you're saying, I won't make a decision until it's a full go ahead because that feeling of like, If I have to get out of it, It's just, And I'm like, Ha, Past life and never even, But the getting it right, The old soul. I think a lot of listeners are old souls or are moving in. I don't know, I guess it would be. . . I would expect, I would expect listeners to show to be very old souls. Yeah. Just the kind of people you have on and the topics. Can I just share one other thing about this need for freedom? There will always, Almost always be something, If you've had that experience of incarceration, There'll be something in this life that you do that your soul feels like it's got the wind in its hair. It's like an expression of freedom. So the things I usually list for client would be horse riding, Motorcycling, Cycling, Running, Surfing, Skiing, Driving of the windows down. Just anything where you get that feeling of freedom, Walking on a beach, You know, On top of a hill or whatever it is. Do you have something in your life that shows up that way? I'm laughing, Yeah, Being in nature walking, But it's funny, I just got a new, One of these like zippy electric cars and I am finding, Like on a Sunday when there's no one around and hopefully, You know, Love you please, But like, Don't hope you, Hopefully you don't find me. I love going really fast, Like super fast in my car. It's something about it, But I also feel that way, I feel that way when I'm in nature, When I'm walking, When I'm dancing in the water. Yeah, It is, There is something in biking with the air, With air around me for sure. Yeah, It feels like a real expression of freedom and you think, You know, If you were there, You know, In a filthy dungeon in that past life, Your soul is going to start, It's going to start wondering, Think about, Well, What would it be like even just to walk down the street, You know, Just have that amount of freedom. Yeah, Yeah. Usually it'll show up as a little bit of an exaggerated need for, For freedom. Along with that, Don't tell me what to do and don't fence me in. Yeah, 100, I'm like, Anyone else listening? Let me know. People are in the same camp. That was like, I'm sure, I'm sure a few people listening will relate to this. Yeah, Oh yeah. I'm like, My sisters and brothers, I know you, I know you're like, Yep. I want to ask you, Oh my gosh, Ainsley, This is like, I literally, I feel like I'm in the most beautiful dessert shop in France and I'm like, Which one do we eat and choose? And I want to go slow. I mean, This is just like unbelievably delicious. So I just need to say thank you. This is so fun. I hope you'll have me back. We can, We can talk more. We can talk more. I know. I'm like, I don't want to binge at all. That's like the old school, What I'm moving through. Right. We're not going to binge. But, And I do think you had talked about, So we talked a little bit about Soul Age and the, The 10 different archetypes. And I'm just thinking for those listening who might want to, Of course, And I'll just show if you're watching, I have like, I can't even tell you how much I've gone through this book. And frankly, You said it when we started, But I was like, I think I'm a spiritualist first, But then maybe like, What was the, If I can find the page, I was like, Am I a creator? Am I like, There were the second and third. It's really, This is beautiful, Very powerful work. It had me understand, Oh yeah, This is why I'm here. This now makes sense why I want to be here and like do some things in this lifetime. Maybe you have a lot to do. And may I talk just a couple of things about you that might help? Yeah, Sure. You guys don't mind listening? Yeah, Thank you. Of course. Okay. So yes, You are what they would call a spiritualist type and with, With a creator influence. It's a common combination with very old souls. So in fact, It's got a lot to do with intuition because the, Okay, So the spiritualist type, You learn to be this, You're going to have a lot of past lives, A healer or a contemplative, You know, You know, It's like the, Maybe surgeon or the priest, You know, And, And spiritually healing and spirituality are sort of seen as being very much more close together than they are in this sort of Western model right now. So you've learned to be that person. What it really does by choosing this before you come here, It makes sure that you don't waste time. It's actually on a very, Very practical level, It's about making sure you don't take a job that's meaningless or you don't enjoy just because it pays well. Yep. You know how many people will do that. This keeps you focused on finding meaning. The influence of the creator, It gives you a sensitivity that, You know, That we associate with artists, For example, And that that sensitivity helps push the spiritualist part of you more into the spiritual realm. And the whole idea behind that is to help you to learn to become more intuitive in this life. And it is one of those things that I always say, It gets easier, It's going to be easier when you're 30 than it was when you're 20, You know, All the time it's going to, You just develop it, You know, And the trust, Of course, Like we're talking about. So now there's one thing, Not to make you sound common, But that I've seen in almost everyone, Well, Not almost everyone, Every podcaster who has interviewed me since my most recent book came out, Which is The Year Before Last, Is working through a past life fear of rejection. And that blew me away when I realized that that's the connection. Now, Why rejection? Okay, So rejection comes from dying alone, Or like I say, Being abandoned in some way in a past life. And so there are, I think, Three ways to heal. One is to do the past life work, But then you do it in the past. One is to do the past life work, Whether you do a past life regression or you work with me, I'll tell you what happened. The fears blocks limiting beliefs, Whatever will just, Usually they will just dissipate very, Very quickly. But another way is to belong. If you belong to a group, And you don't get rejected, Then your soul, Well, It helps to heal, You know, It goes, Oh, My gosh, We can be part of something and we don't have to be, Because the tendency with rejection in this life is that you isolate, You know, Or you, You know, Maybe go it alone, You feel like an outsider. I mean, You're an old soul in the young soul world, You certainly feel that way. So if you can belong and not get rejected, That's really healing. But the third way and the really elevated way, If you like, To heal this and heal it very quickly is to be the uniter, Bring people together. And that's what the podcasters are doing. It's quite fascinating. It's not the reason it's far from the only reason for doing it. But it's actually a major motivation because what you do is it's it's considered to be a spiritual act. And a spiritual act is anything you do where you heal yourself by helping those who suffer as you once did in the past life or even in earlier in this life. So you'll have people coming to you, Drawn to you because well, They may be still family and then they certainly respond to the message. But you'll give them a sense of belonging. You know, It's so important. And we, I mean, We all need that. We all need to feel like we're some part of something bigger. Wow, That was really, That really spoke to me. And I have to say, It's interesting, Just the healing on different levels. I, In being in a part of the world that is very power centered, Being in the, You know, Where the government is, It's, I felt like there are beautiful communities everywhere, But I knew intuitively, It just, It was like this intuitive, Oh, I'll just start my own community. I'm just going to bring in these light showers. We're just going to, We're coming together. Like, This is what's happening. And it's, Anyhow, It's fascinating. And I'm thinking for those listening too, Like this is healing. I didn't even realize it would be healing for me. And it has been. And I, I just, I'm like, Didn't even realize that. I just felt like, Oh, I just want to create this heart centered, Like really, Truly tuning into intuition at heart. What we're doing here is interesting. And like you said, Leaning on the 24 seven, I'm like, I'm going to start a little, Like put a little note to myself to just ask, Ask my spirit guides. They're on call. I was like, Shoot, I'm going to start asking them because you know what? They are psyched to help. I was like, I have that. And still being in the physical form, I just love what you said. I really resonate with the unifying it's how it's, It's very healing. Really interesting. Really everybody benefits. Yeah, It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing. And I think so. So maybe to go through, I mean, I got to tell you, I was looking at the love, The one that's love, The performer one. I was like, God, I relate to a lot of these. Yes, You got quite a lot going on. You got the performer in there. It comes from past lives to singer, Dancer, Actor, Presenter. Yeah. And that's the part of you that will that well, You're seeing it right now, You know, Charming, Expressive, Communic, It's all about communication. And it's all about people. Yeah. You know, It's wanting to connect with people. You also have that you have a, This is very much a kind of giveaway that you're working on heart chakra issues, Is that somewhere in your, In your personality, You have a caregiver. It's, I mean, It's a, It's a, An influence. It's not hugely strong, But it is there. And that's designed really to keep you in a more loving place and to work on keeping that heart chakra operating really well. Interestingly, You've also chosen the mission of love, Which, That these things would really point to a past life of sexual abuse or violence. It's, I imagine, One of the ways you kind of know that you're working through that as well is being very triggered by, You know, Images of sexual violence or, You know, A story on the news or reading about it or something like that, That you're triggered because, You know, In fact, If, If you're triggered by somebody else's experience, It's a sign that that's yours as well, That you have something. That is so, Okay, So you're going to be triggered by somebody else's experience. That's something. That is so, Okay. So, Because I know many listening and I know I'm considering myself empath, Highly sensitive, Many, Many listeners, Easily I'm triggered by most everything. I can't watch the news. I mean, So maybe all my, I'm like, Have I experienced all of it? Because I have a hard time. I really, It's, I, Anything my kids know, Like violent, Mean, Like scary, Loud. I mean, I can't do anything with me unless it's like, You know, A love story or really like comedy, But that's it. I mean, I can't do anything. It really affects me big time. Yeah, Absolutely. Well, You know, Well, One of the things about being a very old soul, You don't, You don't have many lives ahead. Your, Your, Your lives are all behind you. And the veil becomes thinner as you get to the end of the journey. This is why often, I mean, When I'm working with somebody and I tell them, You're a really old soul, Might be your last life, You don't know, You can't ever predict that because you don't know until you process on the astral plane what you've experienced here. But you can tell that you're roughly at the end of the journey, Like you are, You're getting really towards the end. So the veil becomes very thin, Which is great because then your soul and your conscious mind are very fused. But you also tap into your soul's past. And a lot of that, Some of that's really good, You know, It's how you tap into your communication skills or talents or all past life abilities. But you also can, Can tap into these negative experiences. So what people will say to me is, Well, If I'm such an old soul, How come I have so many fears and anxieties? I was actually, I mean, I was just talking to my wife about this earlier today, To a conversation about, Just joking way, But I said something about, You know, I wish people understood more about soul types because, You know, It's people like me in the army. I'm a creator, I'm like a, You know, Gentle, You know, Otherworldly person. You do not want me in the military. But, You know, When there's that lack of understanding of who we are, You know, Trying to squeeze these round pegs into square holes. But anyway, It all goes back to like, The more you understand about yourself, The more you can choose paths that are suitable. So, You know, Sometimes you do have to avoid the news. I mean, I'm very political. The spirit world is very political. And it's one of the reasons that they chose me, They said, For this job is that I am, You know, I'm interested and aware, You know, Of spiritual, Of the connection between spirituality and politics. Yeah. You know, Because you do get these people who shut themselves off. That's a different thing. If you just are overwhelmed for a while, Take a break. Yeah. But you don't want to, You don't want to be in a state of blissful ignorance. Yeah. And what I say is that, You know, For every person who says, Well, You know, I'm spiritual, And I don't take any interest in politics, There's a kid in a cage at the border. You know, We should be, We should care, And we should be aware of what's going on. Because those old souls who say, Well, I'm not political, That's great. There's some young souls going to be very, Very happily going to take your place. And enact policies that are not, You know, Not in anyone's best interest, Except maybe the super wealthy. Yeah. So, You know, We should be connected with others more. We should all be doing something that helps to create a better planet, And standing up for the underdog and so on. The spirit guides often say the world was never meant to be this way. I've been talking to them just recently, But well, What should this look like? Right. I was gonna ask you that. Yeah. And I'll write something about this in the future, But certainly we should have far more cooperation. There are core values that really, If you're thinking about what is your soul trying to learn from this experience of being on the physical plane, It's trying to really learn these important lessons about love, Peace, Truth, These really, Really fundamentally important things. And that is a sign of not just being an old soul, But of really having, Of really getting it, Is to be aware of the importance of love and to be an ambassador for these older soul values as well. So, You know, In an ideal world, We should all be working much more together. We should be, I mean, There should be far greater focus on the truth. I mean, Especially after the last four years. Yeah. You know, The way we've all been gaslighted, You know, It's, You know, It's become more acceptable than ever for politicians to lie, You know. It used to be like, You know, A politician would be caught in a lie and would be shamed and would be forced to resign. And now it's just like another day at the office. Yeah, You're like, I expected that. Do you think our country has a soul level and does our planet have a soul level? And for those old souls, Because I already heard the answer, But I want to hear from you, You're the expert on this. Yeah, Let's go there and then we'll talk about. . . Well, The country itself is, Although it's not predominantly made up of level five souls, These are young souls at the end of the young soul half of all your lives, If you like, We are predominantly level five countries, Level five energy. Can you share really quick, I'm just realizing, The real quick overview of one to nine or ten? Yes, Okay, Yes, Absolutely. Sorry about that. Soul ages, No, Absolutely, I realize that's a little bit out of context there. Yeah, Like, Oh, We don't, You may not know. Okay, I'm going to take notes. So, Your soul, It comes to the physical plane over and over again. This is the whole purpose of reincarnation is to keep learning. If you came here once, You wouldn't learn anything. So, You have to keep coming back and working on things. In my experience, If you're a really old soul, You might have something like 110, 120 lifetimes, You know, To get to that point, Just to give you, You know, A rough idea. The journey will take something like, Could be 5, 000 years, 5, 6, 000 years. So, You've been here a long time if you're an old soul. And you start off, Well, There's 10 levels with a split at the end of level five that goes between the sort of young soul half, If you like, And the old soul half of your lives, The sort of demarcation point. Well, Really what happens there is it's a shift between a more external focus to more internal, Middle, More introspection, Which is generally a sign of being an older soul. So, You have, Like in your very earliest lives, You're just learning what it's like to be here, You know, To figure out your place in the world. Then as you grow, There's some lessons about building community, Then starting to really influence the world and explore. A lot of those level five souls are drawn to power, Because, You know, You're going to be around a lot of them. And that's, You know, Closer to the corridors of power. I'm already going to get that in most places anyway. So anyway, Then you can get into the old soul half, Start to work on yourself, Start to work more on creativity, Depends on the point. Level nine is a little focus on spirituality. Level 10, Often just doing whatever it is you want to do, You know, It's just to build on previous lifetimes, Maybe a little less intensity there. So, 10 levels in all, It takes you, It takes you from a place of fear to love, Through attention. Beautiful. Or from me to we, You know, Going from that feeling of isolation, I mean it alone, To realizing that we are, We're all part of this. Beautiful. That's a soul's journey in a nutshell. You know, One of the things I remember you saying really quickly, Because this really, This touched me that there was no, There's no judgment of it. You could have somebody who's a soul level three, Like I think you said Mother Teresa, For example, I think you said was a soul level three, If I remember correctly, And change the world. So, You know, It, You can, It's always a choice and this makes complete sense to me. This is, This makes, So okay, Now that everyone has like a quick overview, Because we could, We can come back and do another conversation on this alone. I mean this, I have found this to be exceptionally helpful for me. It also has given me compassion. I'm like, Oh, They are a level four or five. Absolutely. I can feel it. I can see it. There's certain parts of the country when you're driving. I'm like, Wow. Okay. You know, That is where they're at. Okay. And like the power, You know, I don't know if you say this, But what came through to me is the power over versus the power with. Like, You know, When you're, I think the older soul, We all have power, But how do we do it together versus the power over? It's what we're seeing. So I'm going to stop. Talk about the country soul. It's so fun talking to you, Ainsley. It's like. I know, But we'll never run out of things to talk about. Yeah. We'll wrap soon, But my gosh, This is so fun. So, So yeah, So predominantly level five in the US, Although it's more level five consciousness, And there aren't a lot of older souls, We just, We wouldn't necessarily be aware of that with what we get sort of in the media. You know, I always think of Fox News being sort of quintessential level five thing. So, But there are a lot of old souls here, Of course, You know, Quite naturally, A lot of older souls not feeling like they particularly fit in. You have countries that are younger countries that are predominantly older, But there's usually a mix. So it just gives you a sort of rough idea. But people often say to me, How do I know? I want to relocate. How do I know it's going to be an old soul area? And I always say, Well, Look at the bumper stickers. But you could just say, Well, Look at how they look at their voting patterns. Because, You know, The older the older soul areas are going to be more progressive, Younger souls more conservative. That's just kind of, You know, Roughly the way it works out. So Scandinavian countries tend to be predominantly much older. Although that doesn't mean to say you won't get younger souls in the corridors of power there too. And certainly in some struggled, You know, You have the, You know, Sort of quite a resurgence of the right wing younger souls in Europe. But generally places like that, Where there's a social safety net more concerned about those less fortunate and so on, Those are those are the signs, Those are the sort of things you want to look for. Fundamentalist, Very religious fundamentalist areas, They tend to be much younger souls. And again, It's an expression, It's a way that the fear shows up. You know, That younger, Much younger souls when they are, You know, They're more fear based. So they want strong gods, You know, Usually masculine. Yeah, It's like really having a strong dad, You know, It's like, Yeah, You're wanting to, You know, Tell you what you want to do. And so, You know, Wanting to, You know, Tell you what to do and so on. That is nowhere near as important as you can probably tell for a very old soul. It's just like, You know, There usually is actually a shift that's right towards the end, Much more going into a spiritual kind of place rather than religious. In fact, It's a sign of, As you get to be an old soul, That that's one of the signs and awareness that religion and spirituality are not the same thing. You can have religion, You can have spirituality, You can have the two together, But they are not the same thing. Historically, I think, You know, Religion was really the way to express your spirituality. But these days, There's so much more information out there. You know, Look at the people that you interview or, You know, The kind of books that you can get now. There's almost like never been a better time to explore spirituality, Not necessarily in a religious context. Yeah. Yeah. Beautifully. Oh, So that is so powerfully said. And I, Part of what I, And I'm like, Oh, This is bringing in the whole archetype of love and creator. But, You know, I think what I love about this is it promotes a unity consciousness. It promotes deeper compassion. Truly. I remember, I mean, I made my husband, He got his own copy. We sat up in bed. I actually think he might be a 10. I'm not sure. I was just, The way he is just so laid back, Like nothing fazes him. And I'm like, I don't understand this. Maybe it's partly your astrological sign. But the point is we've worked through this book together over and over again. And it just helped me. It helped me have compassion because I used to be a young soul. We all, You listening, You were a young soul too. We all have done, I mean, We've all done this different. And it was like, Oh, It's almost a piece of who I used to be. Anyhow, It's just, It's very helpful to kind of, Even as I think what we're dealing with today, With what's going on in the world with now going into year two of this pandemic, All I'll say is that, I mean, To me, Like really having compassion, Cause it's fear to love, Like you said, How do we tap into love, Even as there's some craziness going on? Well, I think the important thing is to remember that we have all been young souls. Yeah. But it also doesn't mean that we should then just kind of go, Young souls doing their thing, We should just leave them to it. We actually, Older souls should be showing the way and demonstrating largely through how you conduct your life and through your actions that there are better ways of being. I said something in my most recent book about, I think I used to, Yeah, So I said something about, You wouldn't berate your seven-year-olds cause they don't know how to drive a stick shift. Right. It's like, They're just not there. It's like the young souls just, I mean, We have been there, So be compassionate. But at the same time, When you see younger souls acting out and raiding the Capitol building or whatever it might be, You don't sit back and go, Oh, This young souls, It's just going to be cute. You go, No, This is not acceptable. It's like, Same way, If your three-year-old flushes your watch down the toilet, You don't just kind of say, Oh, I think they can't. No, Exactly. Now you've got to learn not to do this. Yeah. Yeah. This is, I think also what you're saying, What I'm hearing is kind of a call to action to all of us. And I really feel like anybody that's tuning in as an older soul, I know that. I just, I mean, I know that. And like you said that we know that. And so compassion and it's like a parent role. Like exactly. I would never let my six-year-old, If she's going to run out in the middle of the street, I'm going to, No, We don't do that. We look both ways. Like it's our role in whatever our soul's plan is, I guess, To do that, Which it's just interesting. Last year with the pandemic, That first day in March, It was actually the 16th, It was the day before St. Patrick's day. I remember, And I woke up and I heard, Literally I heard, Julie, Your mission just started. What the heck? All right. I'm like, Okay, This is going to be interesting, Interesting time. And I think that's for all of us, All of us, Mission meaning like there's things that we can do to make a difference and stand up. We should all be doing that. That's the ideal. If you're just looking after number one, Spiritually, We as a planet are never going to get anywhere. We should all be recognizing that we're all souls together, I think is going to be a very good start. But unfortunately, Just things are, Like I said, Not as they were meant to be, Not as they should be. When you have so many people, I mean, Look at the US with such extremes of wealth and poverty. Look at other countries, The US isn't far from alone. But in this super wealthy country, This should not happen. I mean, Literally, There should not be homeless people. It's just that disconnect. It's that sense that they're the other. It's just a lack of spiritual maturity to not recognize that these are fellow human beings and we should want to do something to help everyone. And a more balanced playing field, It would be a very, Very good thing. I find it just coming from a part of the world where we had guaranteed health care, Free health care. I grew up with that. Nobody went bankrupt from hospital bills. Everyone's taken care of despite the horror stories that some would tell you, Waiting lists or whatever. It's a hell of a lot better for the majority of people, Especially those without money if you've got a system like that. And the fact that that even is still being debated in the US is a sign of this younger soul consciousness. Yeah, Exactly. It's like, How could we even be, How is that even a question? And I think if you're all in the same soul family, We're all from this oneness. I feel like I'm awakening more and more to this. This is part of why I do this show is to help up level, To open, To open and lift and to rise, To raise our consciousness, To shift perspective. I just actually feel like it's infinite, But at least the most, Just keep expanding in the most love-based way and to make a difference because I think what you said, This world, There are things we can do and just really getting, I'm really seeing it. It's like, Wow, If you look at everyone, Literally that is a family member. Literally, That's part of you. It starts to change things. It's like, Yeah, The homeless, This morning I was driving my daughter early to the doctors and we saw a homeless man with a leg missing. And I mean, I was going, It was a green, It was from, I couldn't even stop if I'd wanted to, But I just, It's funny, I saw him in the rear view mirror and I sent like a little offering and I was like, That's a brother. What the heck is happening? And I don't know how to find him, But I just, There's just something that there's something missing. What you're describing there, Actually, When you see somebody suffering like that and your heart goes out to them, That's your soul reminding you that, Gosh, We were there once. We've been there. And it's this real, One thing I think it's hard to wrap your head around sometimes is that the past lives that you've had were as real as this one at the time. The experiences and traumas and whatever get carried, No surprise, They were as big as anything you get here. So if you've had, Maybe it could have been like a lifetime of homelessness somewhere along the line. I'm sure almost all of us would have experienced that at some point. Well, That will really help you when it comes to finding compassion for those who are homeless. That is a big difference between often young souls, And there's not in any way to say young souls bad, Old souls good, But young souls with a lack of experience, They look at those people who are suffering and then they make comments and they look at those people who are suffering and then they make comments about, Well, You should pull yourself up by your bootstraps like I did or whatever. Forgetting that some people just don't have the wherewithal or the opportunities that you've had or whatever it might be. And it really is for the older soul, It's a call to compassion. It's a kind of call to action, Even if it's not that specific person, It can be the soul's way of saying, We were there, We know what it's like to have no home, To have insufficient food and so on. So it's a way of saying, Let's do something. Right. I have one last question that just popped in I want to ask you, And then I always end with anything that you're feeling called to share, So just to let you know, But I do have a question for you and I just popped in, I'm like, I'm going to ask this. So my daughter by marriage, I got remarried and my daughter by marriage is autistic. And I know there's been a huge shift and rise in autism. Those that are challenged physically, Emotionally, Mentally, And I've actually wondered, It is hard for me to locate her soul level. And there are times where I feel like, I wonder if she is definitely a 10 and is trying this lifetime and there's something, But it's harder to communicate. She's not high functioning. So there's a minor, There's a tiny bit of verbal, But not a lot. And I just am like so curious because there's a rise of autism and what I'm just, I don't know if there's a like people with autism are typically in this soul level or I don't know if you have a thought on that, But it's been very curious to me. Okay. Well, Okay. So your soul, Like I say, It comes from the astral plane. It has a view of what's coming up, Which when it's choosing a life that it wants to come into, It looks at the options, You know, Who's having a baby, You know, Who can I come in and be, Whose family can I be part of? As an old soul, You want to be around people, Souls that you've known before, Soul family, Old friends. And so everyone has to have a soul. This is the fundamental thing. No one can come into this world without a soul. So you have to have one because people will say, Why would you choose to come in and be in, You know, Terrible circumstances or whatever? Everyone's got to have a soul. So souls are very pragmatic on the astral plane and they're just looking at lessons learned, Lessons to be learned. And so the soul says, Well, I could really use some lessons in maybe relying on somebody else's would be a very typical thing for someone with autism. But I will have to, You know, Maybe I spent loads of lives as a leader type, Soul type, You know, Helping lead others. Maybe I want to be in a more passive role and this would actually suit me. I can get some big lessons here. It would be a tough way of getting it, But that's usually the kind of thought. In the instruction, I talk about a kid who was born with part of his brain missing and a real challenge, I mean, Incredible challenge for the parents. And he's actually, I mean, The kid, He's now, I guess, Mid-twenties. And he's actually a leader type. And it was like, If you keep coming in and wanting to learn about leadership from a leadership point of view, Then you're not getting the whole picture. So he's actually soul saying, Well, This is going to be hugely challenging. We're always going to have to rely on other people. But he does have some self-reliance there as well, You know, Learning to do some things for himself. And so it's a powerful way for somebody who's actually very action oriented to sort of like, Did they be stuck in a body that's not functioning as well, Mind is not functioning, Big lessons. So I think you're absolutely right. I think your daughter would be very likely to be very much older soul kind of going, Well, This is going to give me some powerful lessons here. And I think that's going to be a very powerful way to do that. Again, Everyone's got to have a soul and it teaches you compassion, You know, Like, As our soul goes forward next lifetime, Going to be an awful lot more compassionate for people dealing with autism or something. Karma plays into it. You see people who've had that experience, Whatever experience they have in the past, They'll want to help those who suffer like they did. So, I mean, I'm not predicting that she has that experience of autism. Maybe she becomes a specialist working in that field in another lifetime. Interesting. You see Karma playing into our decisions all the time, Balancing one experience after another, Even that, You know, Leader being outdoorsy in leadership and then having that experience of not being anywhere near as physical. That's kind of how it works. Always, You know, Balancing one experience against the next. That's incredible. Thank you. I've always, I'm just so curious. I've had this feeling since. I'm like, Wait a minute. No, No, No. I don't actually think it's, And actually she's not really living in fear at all. At all. It's mainly love at all times. Thank you. Ainsley, Oh my gosh, My last, The question I usually ask at the end is just, I call them heart flares or your spirit guides are knocking on the door and they're like, Wait, We want to, It's kind of the, Is there something I didn't ask or that you are feeling urged to share or say that's just coming through right now before we close? Yeah. Well, I tell you the one thing that is coming through and this has come up a few times just in the last few days, Working with people, It's a reminder to really enjoy life. You know, We got, I mean, We're under a lot of stress as human beings with COVID and everything else that's happening to the planet. It creates a lot of underlying stress and for old souls that can be very hard and it is really important to lighten up and enjoy life as well. So what has come up quite a few times recently is about dancing. It's like, Because the spirit guides will say this all the time, You know, You don't want to be a hundred years old looking back on your life, Wishing you danced more. And usually when I tell somebody that like that, You know, They go, Well, I don't do it for a living, But it's not about that. It's about just having fun, You know, Just, You know, Kick off your shoes, Dance with some music. I do this every so often just to alter my consciousness. I have a small selection of songs that I will play and I'm, You know, Not to build up my part, But I'm the worst dancer in the world. But I have no shame when it comes to it. I'll do it. You know, I'm, You know, I'm the old white guy that, You know, Dancing and people going, Oh geez, I wish you'd stop, Especially my kids. But it's just have fun, You know, And just use the body. I just crank up the volume and just, You know, Dance stupidly and have fun with it. So that's really my little encouragement is, You know, Have something that will lighten things up. I just actually had my oldest son here for spring break. And what is so funny is like, You know, 21 year old who knows how I am. So, And I will do like a stupid dance just to make him laugh. And now he started doing it for me as well. Oh my gosh. It's so great. I was thinking we had a camera on us and people think we're, You know, Very, Very strange family, But it cracks us up every time. So that's my little bit of, My two cents there. Just have a, Crank on some music, Have a stupid dance and lighten up. Oh gosh, Nothing else needed to say, Because it can get serious. The stuff can get all of it. It's like, Just have fun. Like you said, Dance, Lighten up. Oh, That was really needed. Thank you. That was perfect. So needed to hear that. This has been such, Such a, What would I say, Enlightenment, Enlightening, Incredibly powerful conversation. Really also delicious. And I know, I just know, I know my listeners and those and beyond that are like, Thank you. It felt like we were fed and nourished. And maybe if you want, Want to come back, I would love to have you again. I feel like there's a whole other round of questions. Oh my God. Absolutely. Just, You know, Book me in for 10 hours or something. There's so much to talk about. I know. I'm like, Hold on. And this is always me managing. I've got like all these words. It's okay. We did so much today. And I'm just, I'm really thankful just for you, How you've shown up, Who you're being. I mean, Clearly just really clearing the path for so many of us to better understand. Okay. This now, I mean, I just had this all the time. I was like, I can say the same thing about you. Thank you so much for what you do. And you know, And you can really tell what you do is coming from that place of love. It's that open heart chakra I was talking about. Thank you. Thank you. We loved having you here.
