Box Breathing Guided Practice Find a comfortable seated position.
Sit tall with your spine long,
Your shoulders relaxed.
Rest your hands on your knees or in your lap.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a natural breath.
And let your body settle.
Here's the pattern.
Inhale for four,
Hold for four.
Exhale for four,
Hold for four.
All four parts are equal.
Four seconds each.
That creates one complete cycle,
One side of the box at a time.
I'll count for you.
You just follow my voice.
Breathe in through your nose.
Hold.
Breathe out through your nose,
Hold,
Smooth and steady.
If you'd like,
You can visualize drawing a square as you breathe.
Inhale up the first side.
Hold across the top.
Exhale down the second side.
Hold across the bottom.
Then,
Start again.
The visualization is optional.
But some people find it helpful to anchor their attention.
Let's practice together now.
We'll do this for several minutes,
Building your focus and balance with each cycle.
Ready?
Let's begin.

Beautiful.
Now release the pattern.
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Breathe freely,
Without counting.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Notice the quality of your mind right now.
Maybe it feels clearer,
More organized,
Less scattered.
Like everything has settled into place.
That's what balance does.
That's what structure provides.
When your breath is ordered,
Your mind follows.
Box breathing is your tool for focused calm.
Four equal parts.
Use this breath.
Before any high-pressure situation.
A meeting,
A test,
A performance,
Or a difficult conversation.
When your mind is racing and you need to gather your thoughts.
When you need to shift from reaction to response.
Or as a daily practice to train your attention and build mental clarity.
Many elite performers practice box breathing for just three to five minutes before they need to perform.
That's all it takes.
A few cycles and your system finds center.
You can practice this anywhere.
In your car.
Before a meeting.
At your desk.
During a break.
In the bathroom before a challenging moment.
Count silently to yourself,
Fore-in,
Fore-hold,
Fore-out,
Fore-hold.
The beauty of this breath.
Is its simplicity.
And its power.
Four,
Four,
Four,
Four.
That's all you need to remember.
You now have five breathwork tools in your toolkit.
You're building a complete system for managing your nervous system,
Your emotions,
And your state of mind.
In the next practice,
We'll shift from breathwork into something deeper,
Mindfulness of breath.
This is where we begin to train your attention itself.
Teaching your mind to anchor in the present moment.
When you're ready,
I'll meet you there.
For now.
Stay balanced.
Stay focused.
You're exactly where you need to be.
I'll see you in the next practice.
