Sometimes we wonder what we can do to help heal the world. After all, we are just small individuals in a vast universe. But actually, you are the love of the universe in action. Join me in this metta meditation to fill your heart with love, and then send it out to all of life. And as you send this love to others you are blessed too, thereby creating a circle of love and healing for all. Inspired by Jack Kornfield. Music: Guiding Lights by Tom Evans

Life Lets us Build Hello,

Precious soul.

How are you feeling about the state of the world right now?

Does it pain you that you can't do more?

Or have you done so much that you've worn yourself out from all of the effort?

No matter which way you're feeling,

Remember that love is not what you do or give.

Love is who you are.

As Rumi said,

You are the soul of the universe,

And your name is love.

So today,

Let's practice being love and letting that love ripple out into the world.

It doesn't have to take a lot of effort.

It doesn't have to wear you out,

But it is one thing that is so needed right now.

And your presence,

The love that you are,

Can make such a difference to life.

So let's begin by getting comfortable.

Nothing is more important to the ease of your meditation practice than comfort.

So let's settle in.

Now let's take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in,

And then gently let that go.

Let's take another slow,

Full breath in,

And then gently release it,

Closing your eyes or keeping a soft gaze as you do so.

Now scan your body,

And if there are any areas of tightness or tension,

Imagine breathing in to those areas.

As you breathe in,

Breathe in relaxation.

And as you breathe out,

Breathe out any tightness.

Breathe in ease.

Breathe out struggle.

Breathe in peace.

Breathe out stress.

Now imagine that sitting before you is someone you dearly love.

They may be here on earth with you,

Or they may be in the beyond.

And as you sit in front of them,

Feel your heart filling up with this love that you have for them.

See that light and love in your heart expanding until it fills your whole body.

Then see that love overflow,

And see it traveling from your heart to theirs.

And as this love continues to flow to them,

Repeat after me silently to yourself,

May your spirit be strong.

May you be safe and protected.

May you be filled with healing and goodness.

May you be held by love.

Now see that love in their heart filling their whole body.

See it build until it overflows.

And then see them sending that love back to you.

And as they return that love to you,

Hear them say,

May your spirit be strong.

May you be safe and protected.

May you be filled with healing and goodness.

May you be held by love.

And as you sit there and receive that love,

Realize you can send that same love to yourself.

Place your hands gently over your heart.

Feel that love expand in your heart and say to yourself,

May my spirit be strong.

May I be safe and protected.

May I be filled with healing and goodness.

May I be held by love.

And as you do that,

Realize how much your heart and soul long to hear these words from you.

And repeat them to yourself again.

May my spirit be strong.

May I be safe and protected.

May I be filled with healing and goodness.

May I be held by love.

Now imagine that you are so full of love that there's an inexhaustible supply flowing through you.

Realize that you can be a blessing to others just by flowing this love out into the world and to all of life.

See this love overflowing from your heart and finding its way to all life on the planet and to Mother Earth herself.

And as your love flows out,

Repeat,

May your spirit be strong.

May you be safe and protected.

May you be filled with healing and goodness.

May you be held by love.

Repeat it quietly for a moment,

Feeling the love that flows through all life.

And realize you are the soul of the universe and you are the heart of that love.

Now let's take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And then gently let that go.

Let's take another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And on the out breath,

You can gently open your eyes.

And as you go about your day to day,

Whenever it seems like a little more love could help a situation,

Gently place your hand over your heart and remind yourself,

I am the soul of the universe and my name is love.

And ripple your love out to whoever or whatever situation needs it.

I wish you a blessed day,

Dear soul,

Full of love for yourself and for others.
