Welcome,
I'm Kate,
And I'm so glad you found this practice this morning.
Some mornings.
I just wait.
Feeling an overriding feeling of anxiety.
It might show up as tension in my head.
Tightness in my throat.
And for you it may show up in her.
Very different way.
Whatever you're feeling this morning,
This practice,
This very short practice,
Is designed to help ease some of the anxiety which can be very hard to deal with,
Especially as we start our day knowing that there's so much to do and achieve.
And we want to feel our best selves.
So?
Just find a comfortable position whether you're lying down or perhaps sitting on a mat or a chair.
If it feels comfortable for you,
Gently close the eyes down.
Or lower the gaze.
And just start by taking a few grounding breaths Breathing all the way in.
And then breathing all the way out and again breathing all the way in and then breathing all the way out And one more time.
Breathing all the way in and then all the way out.
And just allowing a little settling into your body.
And that feeling that anxiety may still be.
Very strong.
Taking over everything,
Perhaps.
In your body,
In your mind.
And so what we're going to do is a very simple practice.
And I'd invite you to place one hand on your belly.
And one hand on your heart space,
Just on the area in the centre of your chest.
Just really connecting in.
With the feeling of your hands resting.
On the body.
And as you do this noticing the rising and falling of breath in the body.
And noticing that breath moving.
Up and down rising and falling.
And just connecting in with the movement of the breath and the body.
Noticing the sensation of your hands just holding you here Keeping you safe.
And now just.
Silently whispering to yourself these two short phrases.
I am safe.
All is well.
I am safe.
All is well.
I am safe.
All is well.
And just continuing to silently repeat those phrases inside the mind.
While your hands are still connecting in.
With the body.
The breath rising and falling.
I am safe.
All is well.
And just noticing if anything is shifting just a little.
And as we bring this practice to a close.
Just repeating those phrases one more time.
I am safe.
All is well.
I'm just noticing how Your body responds to the feeling of the hands.
Against the skin,
Against your clothing.
And only when you feel ready in your own time.
Gently opening the eyes.
And whatever this day brings.
I wish you.
Peaceful.
Calm.
And a beautiful day.
Take care.
