Hi I'm Kelly and welcome to this meditation.
Before we begin I want to share something personal.
I myself do not have children and I'll be honest even though I mostly come to terms with this and feel really grateful for my life just as it is,
Sometimes my mind and my body still struggles with it.
It could be because of a passing comment,
A movie or a show that I watched,
Just an old memory that brings it up and the ache of what I don't have rises and those moments are hard,
Really hard and this meditation is for those times,
For the moments when life feels like something is missing and when the world stories of what it means to be a woman doesn't seem to include you,
For the moments when your heart longs to be seen or understood or held and you feel so alone and so I made this meditation for you and for me too to create a space where we can breathe,
Feel,
Rest and remember even in those tender achy moments that we are okay,
We are okay,
Everything is okay and nothing is missing.
So if you're here know this,
You are not alone.
I see you,
I honor your experience and together we're going to hold a space for your heart,
For your body and for your life exactly as they are.
So let's begin.
We'll take a moment to get settled.
Letting your body find a comfortable position whether that's sitting,
Lying down or whatever feels right.
And allow your hands to rest gently on the body or at the sides and just breathe.
No effort,
I'm trying to fix or change anything or make it right.
Just allow the breath to be natural and letting emotion come to the surface almost like a wave coming to the shore.
Don't try to stop it.
It might be strong at first but your presence always softens it.
Inhale softly and exhale completely.
And as you arrive more and more in the body allow yourself to simply be.
This is your time to feel your space where nothing needs to be explained or justified.
A space where your story is valid exactly as it is.
I know at times it has felt like the world hasn't left room for your story or hasn't honored it.
Maybe you've noticed pangs of pain when conversations revolve around children or pregnancy announcements,
Milestones that don't mirror your past.
Possibly you've smiled politely,
Nodded or changed the subject.
While inside a quiet ache came up.
It's okay.
Take a breath in and as you exhale allow yourself to acknowledge that ache without judgment.
Let it be.
Let yourself feel it fully.
For in feeling it you honor your truth,
Your own experience.
And know this,
Remember this,
You are not missing something essential.
You are not less.
You are not outside of life's circle.
The essence,
The essential things of life are being connected to yourself and what's around you.
And you're connecting to that right now.
Take another slow soft breath in.
And as you breathe out imagine setting down the invisible weight of comparison.
Just put that down.
The stories that say you should have been someone different or done something differently,
Where life would be better if,
Just set them down for this moment.
Right here,
Right now,
In this breath,
In this body,
You're enough.
Feel your body.
Notice the warmth in your chest,
The rhythm of your breath,
The steady support of the earth beneath you.
Your body is sacred.
Whether it has birthed the child or not,
Your body is sacred.
Your body carries your courage,
Your resilience,
Your love and your wisdom.
And that matters.
It has mothered and nurtured life in so many other ways,
Through your presence,
Your care,
Your creativity,
Your joy.
Maybe for a moment,
Bring to mind one way you have given to life.
To a friend,
An idea,
A project,
A home,
A dream,
An animal,
To your own healing.
Perhaps there's still a little bit of grief or doubt or confusion.
It's okay,
It's normal.
We will always wonder about the life we didn't have,
No matter what your circumstance.
You can be so grateful and proud of your life,
And still have moments of grief or longing.
You can hold both the grief and the gratitude.
The ache and the freedom at the same time.
They are not enemies,
They are all part of your story.
Now imagine a gentle light glowing in your chest.
Soft,
Warm and golden.
It is the light of your inherent worth.
It has always been there,
Beneath the shoulds,
Beneath the judgments and the fear.
Allow this glow to spread through the arms,
The legs,
To the crown of your head,
Filling every cell of your being.
Remembering,
I belong.
Everything is just as it should be.
Now picture yourself standing in a vast field,
At sunset.
The air is gentle and warm.
And around you,
Other women appear.
Women of all ages and backgrounds.
Some chose a different path,
Some longed for children.
Still,
Some are finding peace.
So many women living different lives,
But wanting the same thing.
To be seen,
Honored,
And valued for exactly who they are.
With all of the struggles and all of the joys.
Look around.
They see you.
They honor you.
They recognize the strength in your presence.
You feel the light in your chest connect with theirs.
A circle of radiance forms around you,
Unbroken,
Unshakable.
And you realize there was never anything missing.
Take a deep,
Intentional breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let these words settle into your bones.
I am complete in my own being.
I am seen.
I am loved.
I am valuable.
My life is meaningful exactly as it is.
Let these words sink in.
I know they may not erase all of the ache,
But they soften it,
Hold it,
And remind you that you are a part of something larger.
Something strong.
And your life is not defined by what didn't happen.
It is defined by how you've shown up.
With courage,
Presence,
And heart.
You have created a life of color,
Depth,
And miracles.
You have touched others.
You have loved.
And you matter to this world.
Rest now in that truth and feel your body anchored to the earth.
Steady,
Supported,
Alive.
Feel the vastness of your worth,
But too expansive to be contained by a single story or expectation.
You are a woman in her fullness.
Whole.
Worthy.
Seen.
And it is beautiful.
And now as you return to your day,
Carry this light within you.
The remembrance that you are already enough and always have been.
Take one last deep breath in.
Exhale slowly,
Letting the shoulders relax,
The body soften.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes gently and step back into your life with tenderness for the woman that you are.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I see you.
