I invite you to find a comfortable position.
You may sit,
Lie down,
Or stand.
Whatever posture feels best to you in this moment.
Soften your gaze,
Or if it
feels comfortable,
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And
exhale out your mouth,
Letting the jaw drop and shoulders relax.
Place your
hands on your lap or over your heart.
Take one more deep breath in through
your nose,
Filling up your lungs,
And exhale out your mouth,
Softening and
settling in.
How many of us have a difficult time trusting ourselves and
believing in our innate talents and ability to take on a new challenge,
Accomplish a particular goal,
Or overcome the obstacles and hardships
that inevitably come our way?
Let me tell you a secret.
You are not alone.
We have
all experienced self-doubt,
Fear,
Criticism,
And rejection,
And as a result,
We felt less than,
Not good enough,
And began to question ourselves and what
we're capable of.
This meditation is for all of us who need a reminder that
everything we need and are looking for is already within us.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Expanding.
Exhale and release.
Stay here
for a moment and observe your natural breath.
Reflect on a time when you
accomplished a task that first seemed impossible,
Took a leap of faith,
Or made
a change,
And it worked out.
Make this memory visceral.
What were you wearing?
Who was there?
Where do you feel it in your body?
Alicia Waghorn writes,
The truth is your life is not infinite.
It is not limitless,
But what you choose to do with it,
The possibilities,
Your potential,
Is.
My God,
It is,
And I need you to trust that.
Trust that everything is going to work out for
you,
That life,
The universe,
All of it is working for you,
Not against you.
Trust
that your time will arrive when it is meant to,
And never a moment sooner,
Never
a moment later,
That the lessons you learn along the way are obstacles meant
to strengthen you,
Grow you,
Support you.
You have to trust that no matter what
happens,
You're going to be okay,
That it is within the hard times of your life
that resilience and strength and courage are built.
Life won't always be sunshine
and rainbows,
But you have to trust in what you cannot yet see.
You have to
trust yourself to be able to handle whatever comes your way,
Because you can
and you will trust that.
What would your life look and feel like if you trusted
yourself and let the doubt and fear step aside?
What might you do differently?
If
it feels comfortable,
Place one hand over your heart and your other hand on your
belly.
Repeat these affirmations silently to yourself or in a low volume.
I am
capable.
I am resilient.
I am proud of the person that I am.
My strength is
greater than my fears.
I am safe and supported.
I trust in my abilities.
Our
thoughts become our reality,
And we have the power to change our thoughts and
beliefs at any moment.
Look within and trust yourself.
When you're ready,
Take a
slow,
Deep breath in and exhale,
Letting something go.
As our practice comes to a
close,
Notice any subtle shifts within you.
Whisper to yourself what you need to
hear in this moment.
Slowly come back to the present moment and gently open your
eyes,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
