Good morning,
My friend.
My name is Chris,
And today we're beginning the day with a gentle breathwork practice to awaken gratitude and help you meet the day with openness.
Before we move into the breath,
Take a moment to simply arrive.
Let your body settle into wherever you're resting.
Feel the surface beneath you,
The weight of your body,
And allow yourself to be here fully.
Inhale softly through your nose,
Filling up,
And exhale it all through the mouth with a sigh.
Ahhh.
Let your shoulders rise up to your ears,
Then melt down your back,
Opening your heart space.
Let your jaw loosen.
Let the space around your heart begin to open,
Even just a little.
Think of this practice as an invitation,
A gentle way of saying thank you to your body and to this new day.
Nothing forced,
Nothing dramatic,
Just appreciation for breath,
Life,
And possibility.
If it feels right,
Bring to mind one thing you're grateful for.
It can be something small,
Quiet,
Simple.
Just let it warm you from the inside.
And when you're ready,
Let's begin.
We'll start with a smooth four-count breath,
Inhaling through your nose for four,
And exhaling through your mouth for four.
Follow my pace,
And keep the breath soft and steady.
Here we go.
In.
Out.
That's it,
Keep it going.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
In.
In.
In.
Out.
Remember this stillness.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One.
Let it all out.
Allow yourself a moment to recover before we move into round two.
This round will move into a double inhale breath,
Inhaling once through the mouth down to the bottom of the belly,
Then pulling more air into the chest,
Then exhaling it all out through the mouth like this.
Here we go.
First inhale fills the belly.
The second fills the heart.
The exhale,
Release anything that's blocking your joy.
Let this breath bring life into every cell,
And allow yourself to feel energized,
Awake.
This hold will be at the bottom of the breath,
Meaning we'll hold on.
First take a deep breath in,
Filling all the way up.
Now blow all your air out,
Every last drop.
Blow it out till you're completely empty,
Then hold.
Notice the stillness expanding.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One.
Fill all the way up.
Now let it all out.
Nice.
Now let's go into our final round,
Which is a humming breath.
Inhale through the nose,
And then hum softly as you exhale through the nose like this.
In.
Top of the breath.
First take a big breath in,
Filling all the way up.
Now let out all your air,
Blowing out every last drop till you're completely empty,
Then hold.
Let this moment be a quiet celebration of being alive.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One.
Fill all the way up,
And hold.
Feel the glow spread throughout your body.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One.
Let it all go.
Beautiful.
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm now.
No effort,
No control.
Just the gentle rise and fall.
Notice how different your body feels.
How warm your heart has become.
And let yourself rest here for just a few moments.
Settling into gratitude without trying to force it.
As you sit in this quiet space,
Reflect back on that one thing you're grateful for today,
And let it fill your heart.
Let it guide your attitude.
Let it shape the way you meet the world.
Gratitude isn't something you wait to feel,
It's something you choose gently again and again.
Have a beautiful day,
My friend.
