Kristen offers grounded, science-informed meditations and teachings, including lectures, seminars, and reflective practices, for people who want to understand their inner world with curiosity and compassion. Her work trusts the listener’s capacity for depth, reflection, and thoughtful engagement, drawing from neuroscience, psychology, and contemplative practice. Kristen holds a summa cum laude B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Health, Medicine, and Human Values from the University of New Mexico, where she conducted two years of neuroscience research as part of a biomedical NIH grant. Her current work bridges science and soul—exploring how the nervous system, psyche, and spirit can be supported through both empirical insight and archetypal, psychological, and narrative frameworks. She is certified by HeartMath and shares resources, mentorship, and offerings through her wellness company, SoundMindScience, where she guides others in cultivating grounded, soulful well-being. She also serves as the Executive Director of the International Gothic Literature Society, where she promotes public scholarship and explores the Gothic as a lens for shadow integration and Jungian psychology.

Hello. I’ve been on sick leave due to chronic stress for about 2 years now. And really i felt no difference but 1 year ago i started feel some more stability i would say. But yeah it definatelity goes up and down. I do meditation and yoga (try to do it everyday). But sometimes i can just feel like is this even doing anything? My question i think is, should i continue to do it even though i feel like its not working? How long can it take to get healthy again? Would it be good to ”expose” onself to more stress little by little and when do i know it’s the right time to do? I feel overall i can handle stress better, i can sense my body better than before. And i can truly understand myself better now, and really this got me more information than my own healthcare in sweden. They send out phychiatrist the first thing they do, but k would say now i would have been open for any of that until my stress would come down and therefore i can just feel like im going around in circles because the healthcare does this only one Way. And also they don’t even look at the nervous system at it’s whole, just ”fixing” with only phychiatrist.. Thank you so much for this. This really has given me more information I’ll keep in mind. // Clara Sweden
